Laura Ward - Sunday, 7 December Message to all: This message is not intended for any one person, but a general statement to all members of the site. After hearing what you all think in regards to posting photos on the forums, we have modified the rules and ask that everyone familiarize yourself so that the site continues to remain friendly for everyone, including new members. In an effort to be respectful of all members of the site, we ask that members do not post more than ONE photo or video per person in the weekly, monthly and information forums. Your ONE picture should be small in size as well. Any large photos will be deleted. You are welcome to post as many pictures as you would like in the photo books, which were created for the purpose of sharing and viewing photos. You may also post as many blogs as you would like with photos in them. We understand that many members enjoy posting and viewing pictures on the forums, but this is not where they belong. We must keep the pictures on the boards to a minimum so that the written comments can continued to be written and read. Otherwise, the numerous amounts of large pictures squash the messages and they become missed. We ask that this modification be respected, therefore any member that continues to post numerous pictures a day will be deleted from the site. Thank you all for helping us keep the site friendly and welcoming for all members.

We are currently renaming all photos from the personal photobooks in order to speed up the site. Some, or all your photos may not show while we are working on the photobooks. You don't have to do anything. We hope to have all photos sorted in about 24 hours from now. You can upload new photos to your photobook while the computer is working on your other photos. Thanks for reading.

Laura Ward - Monday, 6 October Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com
Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.
You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

RuthB - Sunday, 3 August Hi again, glad you got through it, that's so funny about baby shaking her bum! I know how hard it is to have to wait for the results, but please, please try not to let yourself stress too much about the delay, it's not good for you or the baby to get stressed and seriously the wait doesn't necessarily mean anything. I'm not sure where you are, but here (South Wales) on the NHS it is routine to make you wait for up to a week for the results, regardless of whether they found anything or not. I was a wreck after the scan, I wanted to know there and then what they'd seen, and they wouldn't tell me anything, which made me think the same as you, that there must be something seriously wrong. I couldn't wait a whole week, I suffer from anxiety and wouldn't have slept or been able to function (I only slept for 2 hours the night before the scan and only 3 hours the night after, and was still trying to work full-time), so we managed to get our results early by ringing our consultant, who is aware of my condition (I'm managing the anxiety without medication because of the pregnancy, and have been doing really well, but such a long wait after all we'd already been through was too much to handle!). As I've already said, our MRI scan just clarified what we already knew from the U/S, and shown that there was nothing else to note, and they still would have made us wait up to a week if my husband hadn't rung the consultant to see if it could be speeded up. So although it won't be the case every time, a wait isn't necessarily significant in terms of the results.
Do something nice for yourself/baby today, and try to make yourself relax and think about other things as much as you can. Will be thinking of you!
x Ruth
RuthB - Thursday, 31 July Hi, I just saw your post on the VM comments thread. I am now 38 weeks and we had an MRI scan at around 34 weeks- it was recommended because apparently they are more accurate and can give more info than U/S. We asked our consultant all about it before we agreed to it, and we were told that there are no known risks to the baby. Where we are in the UK, they use a modern MRI machine that does not require for the baby to be sedated. It wasn't a very nice experience though. It is very loud and I felt my baby was quite disturbed by it, she moved around a lot whenever the noise went off, and others I have discussed it with said they had the same experience. I kept my eyes shut throughout because I was scared of getting claustrophobic and I was glad when it was over. The MRI scan confirmed the size of the ventricles (9 and 11 mm) and also told us that everything else in our baby's brain was looking normal, all of which had been unclear from U/S. Hope that helps and good luck with everything! Ruth x
cntrygrl123 - Sunday, 27 July I understand what you are going through. At 20 weeks, there was an echogenic focus or "bright spots" that were picked up on our ultrasound. My ob assured me that it was nothing and was adamant that it would be gone by 28 weeks. Said he wanted to re-sono us then, just for protocol more than anything. We then went back in for sono at 28 weeks and the bright spots were still in her heart (soft marker for DS), additionally they found the VM. First time they found the VM it was at 11.3 mm at this point it is 10mm. I will be going in for a fetal MRI next week. I'm scared to have an amnio, but will make more decisions about that based on the MRI. It's scary when they find more than one marker. Seems like a lot of folks on here just have the isolated VM. My doctor did not offer us the AFP serum screening test that most everyone is offered at 16 weeks. He forgot. Therefore, we don't have any results from that to help us rule anything out.
I'm just taking it day by day and hoping for the best. It's really all you can do. Lots of times with this thing it seems like all the testing leads to more questions, and I'm pretty much facing the fact like a lot of others that we'll really have to wait till she's born to know more. It's hard. Hang in there, and ask questions on here. These ladies know a lot about this condition.
