julz - Wednesday, 3 September I am TTC, this is our 4th month and we've not had any luck, I thought for sure this was our month, but no AF and still getting BFNs..grr I will definately let you know when I get my BFP! I can't wait. They say that the baby youhave after losing one is a healing baby or a rainbow baby, I know that this next baby will help bring some hope and joy back into our lives, we are not trying to replace Ari, just trying to help mend our broken hearts. I don't mind answerign your questions, if youhave anymore let me know, I like getting the word out that SIDS happens, so thanks for taking an interest, I really do appreciate it. Luv & Hugs-Julia
julz - Tuesday, 2 September It is so hard to not have a reason or an answer to why our babies were taken so early, I could not imagine going thru what you went thru, I am so sorry. In studies they say it happens more between 2-4 months. The babies on the poster range in ages, I am part of a SIDS support group online and there are 2 members who's children died of SUDC sudden unexplained death in chilhood, which means they were older than 1, I think one of them was 14 months and I'm not sure how old the other one was. My older childern are okay, my son whos 9 has the hardest time, he misses mer so much, they were buddies, my daughter keeps telling me she wants a sister and my baby boy(18 months) goes up to her crib and calls here name every once in awhile, they love going to the cemetary and to help pick out her flowers, they are great kids, we are taking them to the Caring Place, they do group peer sessions with them. They are what has kept me going throughout this whole thing, if it wasn't for them I don't knwo where I would be.
julz - Tuesday, 2 September Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it. I don't mind you asking about SIDS, not may people know what it is, and I am actually working to raise money for SIDS awareness, so I don't mind answering any questions. SIDS is not suffocation/affixiation, SIDS is the sudden unexplained death of a healthy infant normally between the ages of 1 month and 1 year. Ari was very healthy, they did not find anything in her autospy or toxicology study. They(doctors & researchers) do not know what causes SIDS, because the first symptom is death. The "not knowing why" is the hard, because I constantly sit and wonder if I wold have picked her up sooner would she still be here, or was there something I missed and theres about a hundred other questions I ask myself everyday. I know there was nothing I could do, and that she died peacefully, but I can't help but question why..why me..why Ari? here's some basic SIDS fact, I'm so glad you asked: SIDS is the number cause of death in infants in the US. 6000 to 7000 die each year, death occurs in second and the baby does not suffer, cases of SIDS have been reported throughtout history, as far back as the Old Testament, SIDS is not caused my suffocation or aspiration, it is not caused by child abuse or immunizations, it is not contagious or heredity. Most SIDS victims appear to be healthy before death. *sorry for writing so much, I just want people to know what SIDS really is. Thanks for the prayers, we sure do need them! (hugs)(hugs)(hugs)-Julia

dawnispregz - Monday, 1 September pin the dummy on the baby?! not heard of that, revised game of pin the tail on the donkey- a massive picture of a cute baby then a real dummy with ribbon on it with a pin, then blindfold and gotta put the dummy the closest to the mouth - and the closest is the winner! Easy and fun, then the memory game, baby stuff on a tray - nappy, dummy(pacifier)teddy, bottle etc etc and show everyone for 5 secs, then hide the person with the most on their paper wins. im gonna do another game i think, but not decided on what yet, theres gonna be loads of us 20 people approx, so not many games as itll last for ages anyways. Dont know if i told you, but i was talking to my sis yesterday and i mentioned doing an alphabet cake, A,B,C in pyramid block as centre piece(taken on your advice!!!lol) and she said ok, well uve spoilt it now was gonna be a surprise for ya as uve not mentioned the cake but we have it sorted, stop spoiling and get off those baby shower sites!!! Lol. So im feeling a lot better about it, and thanks for ur advice, P.S get a picture up!!! x x
dawnispregz - Monday, 1 September I have sent invites out,so thats sorted, got 12 confirmed and some maybes, the maybes concern me as i wanna do the party favours but dont wanna buy too little and not have enough for everyone, so i think im gonna do another invite a week before as confirmation and say please decide and let me know as certain things need to be sorted on the number of people that are turning up...that sound ok? we are gonna do games, pin the dummy on the baby, and the memory game,my mum n sis told me last night that they dont want me to loft a finger so i have emailed them over the website im looking at for decorations and tuff and told them my favourites and on the day i have to go out and leave everything to them and come back an hour before it strats to get ready........how cool is that? and my sis says dont do a cake - we are sorting that too,(i decided last night i would do a centre piece cake) told my sis and she then said youve spoilt ya surprise now as you mentioned you werent doing one, so we took it upon ourselves to do it, ow youve changed ya mind so ive had to tell ya. So thats when they decided to keep anything a secret they would have to fully take over! Lol. Which is cool with me!!!!!! x x x
femi - Monday, 1 September i'm lucky 'cause she doesn't fuss much. and, until yesterday, she had gone a little over a day without poop. i seem to be breastfeeding well so far. but i always top her off with formula and i wonder: would she take the formula if the breastmilk had left her satisfied? hence, my worry that i'm not producing enough milk. i'll try to increase my water intake.
dawnispregz - Sunday, 31 August Thank you so much for the advice, you have really helped me big time! At first i wasnt sure if it was gonna be 'acceptable' for me to have one, as everyones said 'oh yeah, American though!'.ok so thanks for ruining my special idea, i told peeps that its not about me receiving gifts as we have everything already but about getting together with the girls one last time and celebrating the pregnancy,-before i have no social life!!Lol. I wasnt gonna do a cake, but a tier of buns(cupcakes) with blue icing on it and my baby to be intitals.Does that sound ok? then they can take them home with them in the favour bags,i have seen on the net silver keyrings for 39p each that are either a pram(stroller), dummy or teddy,so i think thatll be nice as a keepsake for my guests too. Youve really helped me to put things into perspective and chill out about it, - but ya never know when the day looms closer i meaybe messaging ya again to steal some of your aura and de stress!!!!!!!!!! Lol x x x
femi - Sunday, 31 August wow! 100oz of water. i do drink a lot of water because the minute she's at the breast, i am so thirsty!
monica9 - Saturday, 30 August Samual Michael Alan is really nice. Go for it!!
jesi817 - Saturday, 30 August i have new pictures of my two month old!
roxyshad - Saturday, 30 August Thanks for the advice. I'd try it but my boy starts screaming at the top of his lungs the minute he's "hungry" so to try and wait it out, I think the whole house would go deaf! haha I'll still try though, it's worth a shot.
musicis4thesoul - Friday, 29 August the diet i'm on... hmm... not really on one. I just changed the way I eat. When I have a peice of pizza, I have like an inch wide peice. that's all. I thought that it was going to be kinda hard to only eat small portions, but my stomach has shrank to compensate, and i don't really eat very often either. So when I do eat it's like 100 calorie packs or like a healthy choice frozen dinner (which are awesome!)
gamama31791 - Wednesday, 27 August no but i go to my 1st initial appt w/ the nurse tomorrow. so im going to see if wants to look at me. i went to the er and they didnt even do a blood test and my mom was so furious that i didnt make them. they did urine test and seen bladder infection. my symptoms or like of a burning ulcer at first but now its like a period cramp (the one right before you start- the intense one) and i told that to the dr, he felt and pushed my tummy but it didnt hurt when he pushed on it. i use to have stomach ulcers but i had gastric bypass surgery 3 1/2 yrs ago, he says since i had the surgery that i cant have stomach ulcers. im so confused. it sounds intestinal to me. its so tough NOT knowing
gamama31791 - Tuesday, 26 August thank you for the encouraging comments; trust me, every positive opinion is so helpful to me right now. Now i keep having like a period cramp, i just keep checking every few min's and even though im not bleeding. im just cramping really bad. im just so scared. maybe its from the bladder infection, the intercourse, or just my uterous getting prepared. just wished that i knew
Shans-Water-Babies - Sunday, 24 August I dont really get into motorcycles that much although I love watching stunts preformed by people on them. We dont have the variety of accents like you guys do. We cant really pin point where someone is from by how they speak. I think people that live out in the Western Suburbs sound like they dont finish or pronounce their words properly but those people are usually from poorer areas and aren't as well educated as people from around here. I guess this area is more upper class and some people can be really full of themselves and snobby but I'm sure you get that even in the rougher areas. I'm a very spiritual person and when I hear about re-accuring dreams I tend to question what they mean. I believe your re-accuring dream signifies that you are either struggling against an emotional issue that you feel helpless to solve or that communications with others in waking life have become unproductive and instead of really solving issues your simply running around in circles (just like a tornado). Does that make any sense?? After Dion, I would wake up in the morning and disect my dreams as much as possible into colours and events and feelings and really look into what it meant. I'm a big believer that our dreams are a way of our "Spirit guides" getting a message to us that we're not getting while we're awake. I dont know what you believe in but this is what makes sense to me and if you dont believe in it thats fine, I'll just shut up ...LOL Anywho....we have tornados/cyclones in some of the top parts of Australia but thats about it. The only natural desasters we have are floods (which is extreemly rare), big storms that can end in trees falling on cars and houses and big bush fires in summer that have known to sweep across large areas for weeks on end. Most of these events dont happen all too often so it's not really a big deal. As for mudslides and earthquakes I think in all my 28 years of life we've had one of each, so really...we live on good solid ground. I would be freaked out by all those things you have. Why do you live in that area if it's like that? Is it where you grew up?
phonics - Saturday, 23 August Thanks. I am going ot try to set up a bed time routine after bath.
Shans-Water-Babies - Saturday, 23 August We want to see all the typical places like Hollywood and Daytona Beach, California, New York, Disney Land, Vegas...you know all that touristy stuff. We love watching movies and think it would be great to see some of the places that put the U/S in the spot that it does. America definately have alot of power compared to the rest of the world mainly I think because of the size of your army. War is really what drives the world with how protected you are and America definately have a seat at the head of the table on that one. We have a Prime Minister and are run by a Labour Government as of last year. It's kindof scary that we just sacked our Prime Minister of like 13 years or something for the idiot who now runs this place. I dont really get into the politics side of this country as I think our Government have their priorities backwards and so I tend to turn away from caring these days. we are still rules my the Queen of England to some degree but we have been established for just over 200 years, I think...yeah! I agree on the gun thing. But what can you do?? We chose to raise our children in Sydney becaus eit's fairly safe here. I actually live just outside of Sydney in a place called The Northern Beaches (it's like 20 minutes from the heart of Sydney). Sydney itself is the city where the Northern Beaches is suburbia on the beach (if you get what I mean), But it's still classified as Sydney. A tyical winter's day would sit between 50 - 68 degrees F and a typical summers day can sit between 78 - 93 degrees F. In some parts of Oz it can reach 113 degrees. We get more American shows than Aussie shows. We have nothing like Hollywood but we have a place that makes movies. Alot of our shows are done on the Northern Beaches too. We're famous here for our beaches! Have you ever been in the middle of a tornado?? The thought of it freaks me out let alone experiencing it.
phonics - Saturday, 23 August How did you get your baby to go to sleep at the same time everynight and stay sleep?
2bBlessedw2 - Saturday, 23 August Nope...that's really great actually. My schedule is a little later than yours...but it starts at 12:30 am...and my lil girl goes till about 6-7:30am....and then back down at 8 or earlier depending on when she got up. After the feeding.. then down for another 3 hours. I love it....it varies a lil...but not by too much....maybe an hour here and there....
