gracie1128 - Wednesday, 17 September Nick is fantastic with him. I am not sure if he really wanted to in the beginning and now he just loves it, they have really bonded. It is sweet for me to see Dominic smile at Nick like he does with me. Makes it much easier for me too. Must be tough on you to always have to be within ear shot!

3rdtimethecharm - Wednesday, 17 September Thank you so much for the support Result BFN
kater - Tuesday, 16 September hmmm, you teachers are all overworked and underpaid!! they stat needing less milk when they start solids. i would keep doing all the things you know will increase your supply, express/feed as often as possible, and eat well, drink plenty of fluid. i definitely see your dilemma, my dad is a teacher, and i know how seriously he takes his responsibility to give his best to his students, you would feel terrible if you thought they weren't getting all they could from the class. how long does it take you to pump at work? sometimes women take only 5-10 mins, and other women take 30 or so mins to pump.
phonics - Tuesday, 16 September Man oh man. Someone esent me this link and i must share it with you all. It is basically a site about your baby. You put things about them in there. Pictures, a guestbook, updates, videos, polls, and so forth. I just started mine today, but it would give you a general idea of it.

femi - Tuesday, 16 September i'm certain she's under tons of pressure and i don't blame her concerns about me wanting to take more time at this point, but her approach was completely wrong, selfish, and insensitive. but i'm over it. i'm going back and that's that, so whatever. :o/ as for our school, we have almost 1,000 students! so i'm not sure how many teachers, but lots! i would love a small school. i went to a h.s. with no more than 400 and it was amazing!
MALACHIsMOM - Tuesday, 16 September Thanks again for your message. I will just do my best to embrace the good and positive and forget the negative. My husband is big on not entertaining negative thoughts. Thanks again!
kater - Tuesday, 16 September well, breastfeeding works on a demand=supply, so it should be able to handle it. i would try feeding him the same on the weekends as during the week, pumping the some amount ant the same times ect, so your body just gets used to one schedule. if you are getting 9oz when pumping, you body will have this amount ready, and this may be too much for your baby to handle. are you getting enough to cover his daily needs? i too have one side which seems to produce more, ive even noticed its bigger... i hope its not noticeable to other people good luck, is your principal the type to be flexible? the fussing during feeds may mean he is frustrated he isnt getting milk fast enough, my baby does that, my flow seems to go from flat out to a dribble, so in the beginning he gets so much he has to pull back and sometimes seems to choke, then after a little while he gets frustrated and bites ... ahh the trials and tribulations of the breastfeeding mother eh?
MALACHIsMOM - Tuesday, 16 September Thank you sooo much for your responce. Just in your message alone I got more strength. I believe in God. I may not be the church every Sunday reciting verses type, but I think that I have a good relationship with God. I talk to God daily and pray for others before I pray for myself. I just need to stop trying to be in control. If I can just let Him guide me then maybe I won't panic so much. Thanks again.
smo - Monday, 15 September In the mean time she just wants me to concentrate on losing some weight, which I am fine with. I did show Karissa the site but she didn't seem that interested. So unless she changes her mind...we will just keep it to ourselves!
kater - Monday, 15 September is he completely breastfed or do you supplement with formula? and how long have you been back at work for? perhaps your body has gotten used to the weekday routine, and because the two days per week that you are at home the schedule is completely different, your body may have difficulty with the new demands. how much are you getting when you express at work? also why do you think he mightn't be getting enough? is he fussy after feeds or not having enough wet nappys? there are foods which are supposed to increase milk production, like oats are a good one and herbal supplements like fenugreek and mothers milk tea. i havent tried the herbs, but i find oats do help my production. i would find out the laws regarding breastfeeding mothers, in some areas, nursing mothers have to be given extra breaks in which they can express milk. sorry, i seem to have asked more questions than i have answered..
smo - Monday, 15 September You know I have no clue...I will have to double check with the dr and see what she thinks about the progesterone levels.
Next step is to have a sonogram and see about the dip on the top of my uterus and then wait about 6-8 months and start hormone injections I believe.
sept1baby - Sunday, 14 September Thanks. I didn't think I was ever going to have him lol. I did end up having him on my birthday. It was a long nineteen hours and an emergency c-section to top it all off!
femi - Sunday, 14 September I'm unsure what SES is ....
As for gang / violence, there are some areas that have these issues, but mostly JHS and HS, though I wouldn't put it past an elementary school student to get caught up in the mess. We have a lot of kids from broken homes, that have never met their dad, and, since I'm a bilingual teacher, most of my second graders are immigrants and / or their parents are here illegally.
As for my baby, I wouldn't want her to attend the school I work at merely because of the principal's comment. She used my daughter to make me feel guilty when she stated that she hopes my daughter doesn't end up in a class where the teacher is absent for two months 'cause it's not a good feeling. It was a rude, insensitive comment, particularly because she brought my newborn baby into the conversation. Also, I just don't think a lot of NYC students get the attention and help they need and deserve. There are definitely exceptions, but it's s system where there's so much overcrowding and paperwork to keep teachers busy that someone's gotta' be last! I don't know if I'll homeschool her, but I may try private school or moving to an area that has a better student to teacher ratio.
kater - Saturday, 13 September yep, i fed my daughter for 14 months, and my baby boy is 8 weeks today, and is also exclusively breastfed. i have had every breastfeeding problem known to man i believe but its so worth it, and things do get better!!
ready2bamommy - Saturday, 13 September I absolutely love my job! My students are just precious! I'm not sure if I will become a Principal or not! I haven't looked that far down the road. I will graduate in May 2010. I guess my little bun will be 1 when I graduate! I can't believe I can say that now! It's been such a long road for me and hubby. Not as long as some but still long enough! I hope you have a wonderful day!
smo - Saturday, 13 September I was tested to see if my tubes were open, I had lots of blood work done for cholesterol, sugars, progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, etc. Dr said all were in normal ranges.
gracie1128 - Friday, 12 September I am really tired too. At least I am only working 2 days, so probably no room to complain. I hope next pregnancy that I don't gain this much. Hope work is going well this week, nearly the weekend. I only work MOnday and Tuesday, my bf works the other days, so it works out well. We don't want to use a daycare.
femi - Thursday, 11 September thanks for the BF / pumping advice, i hope it works out for me! first, i need a good pump!
