Hi I am warriorgal. I am quickly approaching my 30th week of pregnancy! What a happy time for me and my family. Just a little background...

THEN....

Back in July 2007 I had a routine OB appointment. We had just found out that we were having a boy the week before and everything was looking good. So I told my OB that I was having some unusual discharge a few days before and that my back was hurting more than usual. So she did a spec exam to test for any kind of infection. Well, when she looked she asked me " have you had any contractions" and I said no, not that I know of. Anyways she found me to be 3cm dilated. I was in shock so I wasn't even hearing what she said after that. So, they sent me right away to L&D and a high risk MD. That evening, I had an amniocentesis and a rescue cerclage the next am. Well, before going in the MD was very optimistic,but afterwards he had a different look, one that was very scary. He said that he was able to get the cerclage in, but he saw some fluid leakage and it tested neg for amniotic fluid. However, he said that there was a possibility that the bag of membranes were pricked, but he couldn't tell at the time. He did an u/s right after the surgery and fluid was there. I was discharged later that day and had a follow-up with my OB in a week. When I went to the OB he u/s and found that there was no fluid around the baby at all...there was still a heartbeat. Apparently, my water broke somewhere between the recovery and discharge and I believe that it happened when I went to urinate after surgery in recovery where I had no feeling from waste down. I never felt a gush of fluid or continued leakage when I went home or anything.

So that day July 13th 2007, a week after my rescue cerclage, I gave birth to my little boy Mason...Heaven's little angel.

NOW...

It took us about 2 1/2 years to get pregnant again. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and so had a bit of fertility challenges along the way. So after about 5 months of clomid, we found ourselves pregnant again in December 2009. So we took every precaution that we could. We got the early cercalge at 14 weeks and everything was going well until 19 weeks. My cervix measured 1.8 cm and funneling for 4 weeks. Then at 24 weeks it went down to .8cm. So from 24 weeks to now I have had to get a speculum check to make sure I did not dilated. At 27 weeks it showed barely a cm of dilation then the 28th week it was closed...THANK YOU GOD! So I will go back at my 30th week visit to see if it is still stable. The scary thing about it is I don't feel contractions that could be causing dilation...so it is like you never know when you dilate, but I pray next week that it will be closed again. I get my stitch taken out at 35/36 weeks so that is right around the corner.

I am a true believer in God and His Word and can assure you that things will work out fine. I am only thinking positive and rejecting the negative stuff. I have gotten too far and refuse to end the battle here. I encourage everyone to put their trust in God not just your doctors. We need doctors, but they don't have control over what happens to our lives. I am a nurse, but at the end of the day your trust should be in God and doing that is the only thing that has gotten me this far.

My Milestones

• Jan 29th 12 weeks
• Feb 12th 14 weeks and cerclage placed
• Feb 19the 1 week f/u cerclage stable...no complications...15 weeks
• Feb 26th vaginal u/s cervical length good...3.5...16 weeks
• March 12th started 17 P shots...ouch!
• March 20th vaginal u/s...oh not good...the battle begins...1.8 cm with funneling...out of work idefinitely...19 weeks. Baby looks good and growing good...don't want to know the sex!
• March 25 my 31st birthday
• March 26th 1.4cm with funneling...baby is doing great...20 weeks
• April 2nd 1.7 cm still funneling...21 weeks
• April 9th 1.5 still funneling, baby doing great and growing...22 weeks
• April 22nd Perinatologist measures 8 mm or .8 cm with funneling. Baby doing great, still don't want tp know the sex! 24 weeks
• April 23rd OB called want to do a speculum exam...cervix closed!
• April 30th cervix still closed...went to L&D to get steroid injections...25 weeks
• May 7th cervix still closed...26 weeks
• May 8th graduated from graduate school and went in a wheelchair
• May 14th dilated almost 1 cm. Went to L&D and spent 6 hours to make sure I wasn't contracting...no not at all...27 weeks
• May 19th growth scan...little one is measuring 2 lbs 8 oz at 28 weeks...right on target...still don't want to know the sex!
• May 21st cervix closed...looked way better than it did a week earlier...28 week...HUGE milestone...I get 2 weeks off from the doctor
• May 27th 29 weeks...no doctors appointments, just meditating on God and where He has gotten me and thinking about this baby coming in about 2 months...OMG it finally hit me that I will be a mother!
• June 4th 30 weeks! Cervix still closed. Cerclage comes out in 5-6 more weeks. 5-6 more weeks of 17P shots.God is good!
• June 15th 31w5d! Cervix still closed!!! Cerclag comes out in 4 weeks!!! Baby measuring 3lb 8 oz. Weight finally picking up. 4 more 17P shots. Baby looks like me in 3D. Wonder if it's a boy or girl!!! God is still GOOD!
• July 2- 34w1d. Everything is going well. My doctor is still amazed...but it has been a long road. Baby did not want to cooperate with the NST so I had to go over to L&D for longer monitoring. I guess everything was fine, they sent me home. The baby moves around so much that its hard to pick up on the longer accelerations. My legs have started to hurt really bad...upper thigh area. Other than that all is good. Cerclage comes out in 2 weeks!!! To God be the glory!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

• July 9th. 35 weeks. Did a lot better on the NST! Yeah...didn't have to go to the hospital. Cerclage comes out next Friday and i cannot weight. Although I have been on bedrest for 17 weeks now, I am going to miss being pregnant maybe not bedrest though! Had breastfeeding class tonight...ooh it seems like it is going to be hard! Okay counting my days down.
• July 13th. Last 17P shot thank God. I remember when I was 18 weeks and the doc said we stop the shots at 36 weeks...that seemed like a long long way...but I am here can't believe it
• Another week accomplished...another week that the docs said I wouldn't see. I proved the doctors wrong again. Thank you Lord for your grace and mercy and favor in my life.
• July 17th- Cerclage is out, gone, done. I can't believe I am here! God, thank you again for your grace and mercy!
• July 24th-1 week post cerclage...I am still pregnant...wow I have proven all the docs wrong. According to them some had lost their optimism and others pessimistic...but God had a plan for my life and the one growing on the inside. This week I also made it to 37 weeks full-term yeah! I am 3 cm dilated and NST went well too. I look forward to making another comment for next week. Again, thank you God!
