Message to all: This message is not intended for any one person, but a general statement to all members of the site. After hearing what you all think in regards to posting photos on the forums, we have modified the rules and ask that everyone familiarize yourself so that the site continues to remain friendly for everyone, including new members. In an effort to be respectful of all members of the site, we ask that members do not post more than ONE photo or video per person in the weekly, monthly and information forums. Your ONE picture should be small in size as well. Any large photos will be deleted. You are welcome to post as many pictures as you would like in the photo books, which were created for the purpose of sharing and viewing photos. You may also post as many blogs as you would like with photos in them. We understand that many members enjoy posting and viewing pictures on the forums, but this is not where they belong. We must keep the pictures on the boards to a minimum so that the written comments can continued to be written and read. Otherwise, the numerous amounts of large pictures squash the messages and they become missed. We ask that this modification be respected, therefore any member that continues to post numerous pictures a day will be deleted from the site. Thank you all for helping us keep the site friendly and welcoming for all members.

Message to all: In the last 2 years you all posted 1.1 million photos to the site, and that needs a little maintenance. We are currently renaming all photos from the personal photobooks in order to speed up the site. Some, or all your photos may not show while we are working on the photobooks. You don't have to do anything. We hope to have all photos sorted in about 24 hours from now. You can upload new photos to your photobook while the computer is working on your other photos. Thanks for reading.

I BF also, and I had introduced solids at 4 1/2 months, my son hates it! He only wants his boobie. That was my fear also that he wouldn't want me anymore, well I am all he wants. even if you son loves food he will still need a "drink" when he is done eating so instead of giving him a bottle you just give him your breast. Good Luck! If you have any other questions feel free to ask!!

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

My son is 15 weeks old and I just got his yesterday in the mail! I went through the whole applying in the hospital spill, then after 2 months I contacted their vital records department, and they weren't able to tell me anything more than just go to my local social security office and re-apply. I went there and after waiting another month I found out I never got one becaue they misspelled my street name!!! I was sooo infuriated when I had to go back; then they finally expedited one to me in 2 weeks. Go to www.ssa.gov and search for your local office. I'm not sure about your area, but here in GA it gets crowded fast, so I would go as early as you can so that you can be in and out. You can call first if you want to, but they will tell you absolutley nothing over the phone. Everything has to be done in person, and when you inquire about it, make sure you ask if a number had been issued and it had been sent out (they can tell) so that someone isn't walking around assuming your childs identity. GOOD LUCK!! I know how frustrating it is!!

Call the hospital where you delivered and talk to the vital records department

njdevchick - Tuesday, 5 August
I would also find out if one was issued and lost in the mail, if it was I would request a new number, someone could be using his if it was stolen in the mail or something of that nature. You shouldn't have to fill out for one, it should be done automatically when you fill out the information for your birth certificate.

njdevchick - Tuesday, 5 August
Your county should have a social security administration office that you can call and inquire about SS number and card. Three months is a LONG time to have not gotten one, I had my sons in 10 days, so it was super quick.

brandi0881 *pink* - Tuesday, 5 August
You haven't received one at all? What about the birth certificate? You can do a search for social security administration

If you really have to pump, limit anount and pump on very low setting. Shields work great for nursing.

berbaby3 - Thursday, 17 July
Hi you can try some nibble cream, you can get it at wal-mart it's wonderful stuff, if you need the name post me back and I will find the tube. Sounds like a lot of work with pumping!!! I have breasrfeed 3 babys and when it's not working, then it's not working. Dont let anyone make you feel bad about stoping if that what you want to do. Go get the cream, i tell you they will feel great in a day. Hot baths and press the milk out will help with problems with not pumping/ feeding. Good luckxoxox

JulieDueAgain! - Wednesday, 16 July
change your sheild size.. if you have a medela go buy the large or extra large.. it wont ruber the sore area.. I have three sizes and I pump 100% so I change them out.. that shoudl help you out a lot.. get the XL and XXL.. that should give your nipples a break! babiesrus..

starby - Wednesday, 16 July
Yeah thats the same pump I use though I went up a size bigger on the shield. From what I understand, you just want to make sure your nipple is in the very center of the flange, your nipple shouldnt touch any part of the plastic. My blisters have gone away for the most part, that lansinoh cream really really helped. They still hurt every once in awhile but not nearly as bad as last week when they were bleeding :( Take care!

starby - Wednesday, 16 July
Xpecting1-I so know your pain! I have to exclusively pump, my daughter is just over 2 months and over that time I have almost thrown in the towel so many times! In fact, I keep suggesting that they add an "Exclusively Pumping" section on the website because I think we need lots of encouragement and support :) So, I've had lots of trouble and have had to do lots of research, I've talked to at least half a dozen lactation consultants and read a bunch of articles, etc but mostly I've figured things out by trial and error since everyones solution is to stop pumping which for some of us just isnt an option right?! First off, what type of pump are you using? That can make a huge difference and you want to make sure that the shield/flange fits your breast correctly. About two weeks ago, I had lots of blistereing and bleeding around my nipple, it looked like a cut like you described...It was reccommended to me to apply Lansinoh cream before each pumping, it really made a difference! Its about 9 bucks for the tube but totally worth it. The other thing that aids in some relief are these gel pads called "Soothies" I could only find them at Walgreens. You just put them in your bra after you pump and they just kind of cool things off, you just have to remember to wash your breast off right before you pump. I hope things get better for you, I'm headed back to work in a few weeks and I'm not looking forward to pumping while I'm there, I know I'm going to have to switch my schedule up because right now I pump every 3 hours and I wont be able to at work :( Wow, sorry I just wrote a novel, any other q's, I'd be happy to try and help! Good Luck!!!

My daughter is a slow nurser also and a frequent one at every 1-2 hours (except at night, she is a good sleeper). Many lactation consultants will tell you this is perfectly normal. Best advice is to do breast compressions when she stops swallowing and is "nibbling" once these do not prompt her to swallow again, move her to the other side. Sometimes in the evenings she would nurse for 1.5 hrs, but I was rewarded with a 6.5-7.5 hr stretch of sleep. She is 6 weeks now and this past 4-5 days I have noticed she is nursing 30-45 mins every 2-3 hours now so hang in there, it will get shorter.
