Other-poll I was doing some reading online about introducing cows milk at 12 months. We`ve always been told to start at 12 months and that is what I did with my older two. I was looking online some specifics and was surprised to see some countries say 9-12 months. Why is this? Is it safe or ok? I didnt plan to wean from formula til 12 months (Hunter is only 8 plus now) and plan to use organic but am now curious about what others plan to do ~ and why countries vary on this.. What is it where you live?
(Other-poll by RobinG, 23 days ago)
Told 12 months, will wait til 12 months
Told less then 12 months but will wait til 12 months.
Told less then 12 months but not waiting...will start sooner..

Baby-poll My son is being recommended to early intervention to help him learn how to eat from a spoon. He is 7months and is clealy showing signs that intervention is needed (this is my post on the 7 months old page sharing...` Its been a long night here... I will need to be calling early intervention tomorrow for his eating. I had hoped I wouldnt have to but I have finally come to the realization that I need to. You all may recall me sharing that Hunter was having a hard time learning to eat from a spoon. This has been the case since he started eating at 4.5 months. He did go a few weeks not eating solids because of a cold but for the most part in the last month and half he has eaten at least once a day a few rare days twice. Prior to that is was maybe 4 out of 7 days. He just cant seem to grasp how to open his mouth to eat. It is getting more and more frustrating and family members have expressed frustration too when feeding him. He doesnt open his mouth, he only opens his lips a bit and sucks off the spoon. I dont think the spoon has actually gotten inside of his mouth more then 5 or 6 times. I`ve had to resort to playing a movie he loves because when he laughs I can sneak a spoon in. Otherwise his just sucks it off the spoon. We`ve done everything from making sure he was really hungry to tickling under his chin and cheek and even using our other hands fingers to pry open his mouth to get the spoon in (which doesnt even faze him) I`ve feed my neices nephews and older two boys and this was never a problem. He does like the taste but it takes a very long time to feed him. I`ve often thrown out food and it is such a waste so I just do one meal instead of the 3 doc wants me to aim for. He eats like a baby who has just started to eat, eats just like he did at 4.5 months, no change at all. At this point he should be showing signs of learning/improvement. Doc wanted my to call early intervention at his 6 month check and I didnt want to thinking all he needed was time and he would get better but he hasnt at all. There were a few times he seemed to start to get better but I think it was more luck and the TV which I dont want him needing to eat. Has anyone else had to get help for this? If so what did it entail? I assume it is excersizes to help him learn to open to eat but not exactly sure. TX all ~ I just am so frustrated, it breaks my heart ~ I want to enjoy feeding time and all I do is dread it more each day.` ) I`m looking to talk to other moms who`ve had to use EI for this specific reason to get an idea on what they will do to help him/us.

Baby-poll I find it fascinating that we all come from various parts of the world :) All for the same purpose :) I`ve always wondered how many parts of the world log in here? I live in the States, born and raised here. What country are you in? Were you born there?

Baby-poll TX for the replies regarding diaper service ~ I didnt hear from many so perhaps asking this will help..For those of you who use a diaper service that comes and picks them up and brings clean ones, so you dont have to touch or wash the soiled diapers, how many a month do you use, what service is it and how much does it cost you? I use approx 210 diapers a month and it costs me approx $50 for disposible ~ I live in NY state ~

Baby-poll RE: Diaper Service ~ anyone here us cloth diapers that used to use disposable? Hunter is in size 4 ~ he poos approx 3 times a day ~ Other then night time when he goes 8 hours he is changed approx every 2 hours ~ 3 if he is napping ~ I pay approx $10 for approx 30 diapers. Any idea how much it costs and how it works with a diaper service? I dont want to do it if it will only save me a couple bucks ~ and is it hard to transition? Anyone here swtich and be glad, switch and not be glad ~ Looking to hear from those who`ve used both ~ how often is changing needed? How much does it cost etc etc? Pro`s and ConsTX!

Name-poll Kind of off target but related to change in hormones ~ I know hair loss is normal after pregnancy, had it with my other two but this time around my hair is a mess, it is still falling out or breaking really bad after 5 months and it is SO dry and no matter how much conditioner or mouse I use it is all static. I cant stand it anymore. I opted to start taking prenatals again to see if the vits help some but I also need to buy shampoo and conditioner that will help best. Although I am a big fan of the salon brands I cant afford them right now so want to buy the best store products I can get or stay under $4-$5 a bottle. So for all the stylists here what products do you think will help best for dry, brittle hair? I bought pantex cause one stylist said it is the best from regular stores.
(Name-poll by RobinG, 120 days ago)
Yes to pantex ~ any of them
Yes to pantex, use only this one ~ comment left
No to pantex, use this one
Nothing will help unless it is the $10 salon brands.

I know its from hormone changes... my my hiar feels gross and I can see the stubbles along my forhead
(Name-poll by RobinG, 160 days ago)
It happened to you and your hair got strong again and regrew after a few more months without intervention
You took over the counter vits and it helped
You took over the counter prenatal vits even if not preggers and it helped
You took vits and it never helped.

Name-poll Anyone ever made their own banana baby food? What did you do to it to make it really creamy and a smooth texture like the jarred stuff.
(Name-poll by RobinG, 190 days ago)
Just mash up good, do nothing else
Add formula or breast milk and mix well
Add water and mix
To much trouble, just used jar baby food

Name-poll I have mixed views on organic baby food. Because of the cancer in my family our docs suggest organic but sites show varies studies, some showing lots of benefits and some saying very minimal plus the fact that onless it states 100% is can have others non organic stuff. Are you planning to use it?
