Pregnancy-poll poll Ok, so I have a question. At my last appt it was the very first time she tried to check my cervix. Well, to me it seemed as if she didn`t have to be so rough. (tmi alert) It was as if she just thrusted her hand up there with no warning and was really rough in there. But again, I don`t have much to compare it to. I knew it wasn`t going to be comforable but does it always hurt THAT much? I was literally begging her to pull out. It`s a bit discouraging. If I can`t handle my cervix being checked, how am I going to handle child birth?

Other-poll poll Ok I apologize now for the short long story. I am 19 and have been in school. My due date is less than 4 weeks away, on the 31st of January. School for the spring semester begins on January 24th, one week before my due date. I signed up for one class because I believe I needed to stay in school. I didn`t want to fall out of the mind set of school if I took a semester off. However, because of my situation with the father of the baby, I am getting nervous about taking a class during the spring semester. I`m starting to feel it might be better to continue during the summer and go back part time for the fall. I haven`t spoken with the father of the baby since July, when I was 10 weeks pregnant. I have heard through friends, and also my last conversation with him in July, that he thinks he would be a better parent (because he makes more money) and will like to fight for custody of the baby. This scares me and because I`ll have a new born, I would rather be home so I can take care of any situation that may come up after the baby is born. What do you think?

Other-poll poll What do hiccups feel like for the baby? Sometimes I get this light popping sensation in my stomach that will go on for a few minutes. It`s been getting more frequent. Is this something I should be worried about or is this just a case of the hiccups?

Name-poll poll I have got to ask. I had my first baby shower this past saturday. I really do appreciate my neighbor and my mom planning one for me. However, has anyone ever been disappointed in the shower? I know I was lucky to get one but a couple of people simply forgot the shower date, and no one purchased items off of any of my registries (i was registered at babies r us, wal mart and target so it`s not like i didn`t have affordable items). Has anyone else ever been disappointed? Or am I just crazy to be a little upset?

Name-poll poll I have already decided I want Aldon Lee for the name of my son. This past Saturday a very close friend of mine passed away unexpectedly. His name was Noel Patrick. He always joked around, letting people he worked with believe this is his baby. He always called me after my doctors appointments to see how they went. I would like to somehow add his name to Aldon Lee. Any suggestions on how to add it?

Other-poll poll I`m not sure about other areas but in my area (DC) there has been a lot of staph infections and MRSA cases. I have had a staph infection before and my mom was hospitalized for a month 3 years ago from MRSA. I have 3 sores on my chest. They did start off as little red bumps but I thought I made them worse by myself. (my chest itches so darn much now!) I guess I`m not too informed on staph infections. My next doctors appointment is on October 31. Should I just wait until my appointment and ask my doctor about the sores? Or should I call sooner?

Other-poll poll Someone asked a question similar to this so I thought I would ask, too. I am 18 years old and expecting my first baby. I am currently in school and working a full time job. My due date is January 31. Classes for the 2008 spring semester start that same week. I was hoping to take at least one class so that I stay in the mindset of being in school. What do you think?
