my mother thinks the reason my epidural didnt work on my first pregnancy was cuz im over weight and the `fat soaked up the meds` as she puts it. does this make sense?

im naming my baby Nathan and me and my husband want him to be called Nathan..not Nate or any other nickname..ive told my mother in law 3 diff times i didnt want a nickname pinned on him..at my shower yesterday she over heard my mother telling a friend that we r not calling him nicknames and my mother in law said WELL HES GONNA BE NATE NATE TO ME CUZ THE GRANDMOTHER GETS TO CHOOSE! what would u do about this?
