According to multiple online calculators my 8week is in the 3rd percentile for length. His weight is average though. I`m concerned. We have his 2 month check up and shots next week so I will ask then but what are you experiences?

Okay ladies..am I justified or being sensitive? Ever since DD was born (over three years ago) the last night of his work week SO and the guy he works nights with stay late to watch movies and have `guy time.` I HATE IT because it`s the end of the week, I am exhausted and DONE and at this point in the week really miss being with him but accept it because it`s the only real social/ `guy time` he gets. His buddy may not work tomorrow (which is the end of their work week) so they are going to do it tonight instead. This seems ridiculous to me. They seriously can`t miss ONE week? He knows that now thst DS is here by the end of the night I am even way more beyond done; especially since it`s the baby`s grumpy time is usually just before he gets home (which is usually midnight unless it`s movie night then it`s later). It`s not like he is one of those men that does nothing and makes me do it all. Actually, in the last few weeks it`s been the other way around because I haven`t been able to do much. SO is amazing and is a totally hands on father and partner. Am I selfish to not want him to have movie night and to get home as soon as he can? I miss him when he is gone (he doesn`t miss me), get lonely spending all day alone with the kids and NEED not only adult/couple time but also the help with the baby by the end of day. On the other hand, it`s reasonable that he wants some guy time. But seriously....they can`t miss ONE week?

Do you have to set up all of your other baby related medical appointments or does your Dr refer you and set them up? My friends are saying that it is wrong that I have to make all of my own appointments (u/s, diabetes clinic, stress tests etc). The reason it came up is that because of my GD I now have to have an u/s every other week in order to keep an eye on how big he gets but I am having trouble as no one has any appointments available. My friends are saying that is my Dr`s responsibility.

I am 28 weeks (tomorrow) with number two. While completely overjoyed to be having a second child, lately I have been feeling very overwhelmed and unprepared for his arrival. Need some mommy advice: Gabby`s birthday party is Saturday (she`s turning 3). Between the kids and adults there are almost double the people I had originally planned for. We are BROKE and can`t dip into savings because I am due to go on strike for lord knows how long at any moment (during which I get to earn a whole $10 a `work` day). So, I am already cheaping out by having the party at a park and not doing goodie bags....thing is I need more food than I had planned for. Any ideas of cheap foods to bring? We had already planned for chips and a fruit platter plus the cake. I was thinking of making some rice crispy squares since they are cheap.....any other ideas?

Who is in the wrong? My childcare provider decided today that she was going to take my daughter (and hers) to a waterpark for the day. She got there on the bus (an almost 45min trip one way) in her double stroller. I pick my daughter up from her place by 4:30 every day and now she is mad at me because I didn`t phone her when I left work to arrange to pick my daughter up at the park! I feel that if she took the kids out she should have made sure to be back when she knew I would be arriving and not expected me to drive the extra half hour or so (an extra hour in total!) to pick up my child. Does this sound suspicious to you? My best friend`s fiance makes $50k a year. I had to drop diapers off for her yesterday because they had `no` money left over from bills for groceries,according to him (they also have no meat, milk or produce in the house now). They are continuously in this situation lately. I was laid off at Christmas and my SO makes waaaay less than he does and we are barely managing. More of a question but...My 17 month old has ALWAYS been very independant and self sufficiant (comes gets attention when she needs it then goes off and plays happily) until recently now she is suddenly crazy clingy. It`s to the point where she won`t even play with her toys most of the time unless BOTH she and her toys are literally on top of me. Anyone else experience this? Please tell me it didn`t last long.
