When did you first go swimming after your c-section? They told me to wait 6 weeks but I`d really like to take my daughter in the next week or two (4-5 weeks post partum)

Ok so SO asked me to make a list of things that don`t get done very often around the house and should be done weekly so that they`re not neglected. He wants me to come up with at least 7 so he can do one daily after work. So far I have... please leave more suggestions! :)

I`m going a little crazy right now. I will have my daughter between 24-25 weeks gestation. I read in my preemie book their outer layer of skin doesn`t even form until 26 weeks. My daughter will need major invasive surgery with 2 incision sites directly after birth...I can`t seem to find ANY information on surgery on a preemie so young (before 26 weeks) let alone the actual surgery she will be having (removal of internal and external sacrococcygeal teratoma) Has anyone had a preemie under 26 weeks that needed surgery right after birth?? Or know of anywhere I can find some information? My appointment isn`t until Wednesday and I am going crazy wondering how they can do surgery on skin that you can`t even touch without it ripping?

What would you pack if you were having a C-section at 24-25 weeks pregnant and planned to cloth diaper.. Our hospital provides NOTHING. Yu get 8 pads, and a hospital gown, that`s it! lol

If you knew you were going to have a micro preemie, just weren`t sure what day and they were expected to have a long stay in the NICU, what would you pack for them??? I am wondering if I should just pack a bag for the first few days or if I should pack a suitcase with a bunch of outfits for her stay etc.. I will only be able to stay 3 days and she will stay there the rest of the time by herself so where would they even keep her stuff??

Do you plan your meals out ahead of time? We just started doing this for a week in advance and I LOVE IT. We were always running to the grocery store (not easy when you don`t have a vehicle) and doing the `well I don`t know what do you want` thing. Now we map out 6 or 7 meals and just choose between them!

I have read that you can do kangaroo care with a preemie in a sleepy wrap, I am just unsure of the wrap you would use...anyone have any advice?

Ok CD`ing mamas! I have FINALLY decided that I will be using the simple flat folds instead of prefolds. I will obviously also be using covers. My question is I am going to have them made out of flannel...I will have a preemie so would like to make some smaller ones as well, should I prewash the fabric? If so what dimensions should I cut it into for either? Thanks!!

Has anyone given birth at 28 weeks or before, or known someone who has?? I was told today that instead of a fetal intervention we will be delivering as soon as baby needs us too and he can`t see me going longer than 28 weeks. I`m petrified it`s too early but the risks the other way are a lot more severe.. Please send me stories, I love to hear them!! Also she will need surgery within minutes to hours after birth... any advice on breastfeeding in this situation would be great too!

Update for everyone on baby; had a 2 hour ultrasound on the high risk floor with 3 doctors. Prognosis was not what we had hoped for. The tumor is very large, internal and external and it is working poor babies heart overtime to pump enough blood to support themself and the tumor. However the heart still looks well. Bab...y is very active. Termination was offered and I very easily declined. Our baby is a fighter and even with only a small chance of survival I know they will pull through!! I have faith. I have excess fluid as well which may need to be drained soon and the doctor is calling doctors all over the country to see if we can do a fetal intervention in utero. I had to lose my midwife as I will now only be seen on the high risk... See More floor, and by pediatric surgeons weekly and then every 3-4 days. This is never what we had hoped for but we will certainly deal with whatever comes to us, and we are very thankful that they are still with us. Thank you all for your love, support and prayers and hopefully soon I will have the time and strength to thank you all individually. xoxox

Anyone else have an ultrasound (Mine was at 17 weeks) with a large cyst, tumor or severely swollen organ. Had one at 17w5d and it showed a LARGE abdominal mass around 1/3 - 1/2 of the size of the babies abdomen. Have a high risk ultrasound tomorrow but I am going INSANE.

:(:(:( HELP ME. Went in for a Gender determination scan at a third party place but the ultrasound was still done by a woman who used to work on the fetal assessment floor (high risk) at the maternity hospital. We seen a LARGE mass/cyst/tumor not sure what is was near or in the babies abdomen. I mean it was at LEAST 15-20 times the size of the bladder. We couldn`t even tell the sex because it took over that entire area.. I am being sent for an urgent high risk ultrasound on Monday but what the hell could this be?? There machines weren`t advanced enough for her to tell but she was so worried she even called the hospital herself and then my midwife called too, but they`re not open until Monday....has anyone heard of this??? What could it be??

I am very mainstream, and buy products at my local supermarket. If I read about something that may be harmful I try my best to keep it out of my house.	22		34%
