My daughter is 5 weeks old and seems to have to try very hard to open her bowels. The stool isn`t very soft, nor is it very hard, however earlier today I noticed a very slight bleed. Would this be caused by her pushing too hard? I`m worried, I intend to call my health visitor in the morning but just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced this?

Has anyone experienced a baby with colic who is more unsettled in the morning rather than the evening? I know with colic generally it builds up over the day and they are more unsettled in the evening time, but my 3 week old daughter screams from morning till afternoon, and colic is the only thing I can think of that could be causing this... Help me out, I`m going crazy here as I`m a single parent!

This will probably sound really selfish but I`m scared... My friend has just announced that her brother has swine flu confirmed, and that the doctor suspect she and her sis in law probably have it too. I`m scared incase they do as I was just with her on Sunday, and my mother was with us also. Between me being pregnant and having a 3 year old to worry about, and my mother having health problems I`m terrified we`ll catch it. What should I do?

If you have opted to find out the sex of your baby are you worried that they may have gotten it wrong and you end up having the opposite? I know several people who have been told they`re having one sex and ended up with the other after buying all pink or all blue. I haven`t done much today. Spent the day at home being lazy, then tonight I went to the movies with some girlfriends, then came straight home. My feet are very sore, very red, very swollen. I have two birthing partners. One is my cousin. One is my pastors wife. My cousin goes on holiday from July 10th till the 18th, my baby is due on August 2nd, however my original date was July 24th. My pastors wife found out last week that her application to extend her visa has been denied, and she and my pastor may have to return home if their appeal is refused. In the event of me going into labour while my cousin is away on holiday, and my pastors wife gets deported, what should I do? Do I call round other friends, or do I just go to hospital and go it alone?

Does swine flu worry you? A woman here died from it, this is the first case in our country that has proved to be fatal. She gave birth to her baby 11 weeks premature, and he also died today, however not through swine flu... I am just so sad, and worried about this. Everytime someone coughs I feel like getting up and running away! Is it just me?

Ok so disaster struck this evening! My father accidently pulled the pin on the fire extinguisher. Its a powder extinguisher and the house is just caked in it now. It happened in the kitchen, but seems to have circulated throughout the other rooms in the house. My babys pushchair is 2 rooms away from the disaster zone, but I am a worrier and am thinking it would be best for me to strip it down and wash it all. I don`t like the idea that maybe the powder dusthas travelled throughout the house and could have settled in the pram. Don`t want to put a newborn in there to breathe dust in... Its a pain to wash it all out, but should I go ahead and wash it anyway???

I have always been someone who doesn`t believe in giving your child a middle name purely for the sake of it, however I`m finding that since deciding on my babys name I`m considering adding in a second middle name that really has no significance [i.e -its not to honor any particular person]. Do you think I should add in the extra name? Or not? I decided on Julianna Faith, however I like Olivia too, it means a symbol of peace... Thinking of adding in Olivia, what do you think???
