Baby-poll poll Is it ok for us to give our 8-month-old twins Corn Flakes? We whiz them up until they`re almost powder, then mix in a bit of powder formula, then boiled water till it`s the right consistency, then we add homemade fruit purée. We find it so much cheaper than the expensive baby cereals, but is it ok to give them Corn Flakes or should we just stick to porridge oats? Thank you for any responses.

Baby-poll poll I put up a poll before about my baby not sleeping through the night when he was 6 months old. The twins are 8 months now, and he doesn`t sleep the night, and his twin sister sleeps the whole night through till about 8 am! We could not figure out why Louis would not sleep the night through. Then the last two nights we put him to sleep in his buggy, and put his sister down in her cot in their room. He didn`t wake till half 6 each time! This was a great change for us. Now we have figured out, from putting him back in his cot, that what had been waking him up was the fact that he CRAWLS IN HIS SLEEP! Does anyone else`s baby do this?! He wakes himself up by moving onto his front then crawling around the cot in his sleep! We figured it out when we went in to make sure they were ok before we went to bed, and he was on his front moving around with his eyes still closed etc. What should we do?! The reason he slept so much longer in his buggy was because he couldn`t move around so easily and it is so snug. In the cot he has so much space. Any suggestions?!

Baby-poll poll Mothers of baby twins -- do you ever get a moment for yourself in the day? If so, what do you do in it?! (Apart from housework!!!) For example, I read whenever I get the chance...

Baby-poll poll My twins are now eight months old and eating well, but they seem to want to try feeding themselves now! I let them eat rusks and ligas in their hands while they`re sitting in their highchairs (while I get some hoovering done!) but when I`m feeding them their lunches from the spoon, they really want to grab it and do it themselves, and they put their fingers in the mushy food! At what stage do you start letting them try to feed themselves from the spoon, and how on earth am I supposed to keep control of the mess?!?! (I DON`T LIKE MESS!!! And I`ve got TWO babies!)

Other-poll poll Anyone else had their hips and ribs move out of place due to pregnancy? I noticed after I got my `figure` back after having my twins that my hips are wider than they were before I had the babies and also my ribs are way wider -- especially the left side of them! I really want my bone structure to go back to what it was before, will that happen? (I definitely notice my hips more because I bang into things and get bruises on them constantly!) Anyone else had this?

Baby-poll poll Problem! My baby boy -- 6 months old -- used to sleep through the night when he was about 4 months, slept until 8 am or thereabouts, but as of the last couple of months he keeps waking during the night at about 4 or 5 or 6. I need my sleep! His twin sister is heavier/chubbier and she sometimes sleeps on til half 9! Is this why she can sleep later, because she is heavier? He is long and thin and maybe it`s just because he needs more food? What do you think? I try and feed him plenty of solids during the day, but still this happens. I`m exhausted, I just need a proper night`s sleep. Any tips? It`s enraging because our baby girl sleeps through and we can`t reap the benefits of that! Any tips?

Other-poll poll So, we ALL KNOW that if you`re predisposed to stretchmarks (i.e. it`s in your GENES!) you can`t really prevent them, you can only try with loads of oils and moisturisers but to no avail (or pretty much!) BUT does anyone have any tips for me as to what I can do to get my belly looking better NOW, since it is six months since I had the twins? Is there anything that can improve the appearance of the stretchmarks? Nothing worked to prevent them (although I suppose they might have been a lot worse had I not used the oils etc) but I`m hoping to do something to get the skin to look better. I plan to work on that whole area! comment please if you have tips!

Other-poll poll Anyone else feel so unsexy since giving birth? My twins are 4 months old and I feel like I will never feel sexy again. My body just isn`t my body! It`s not what it was. Stretchmarks and c-section scar are off-putting to me, and my boobs are a lot less firm since finishing breastfeeding... will I feel better in time? Does anyone else feel the same as me? it gets me down a lot. I hate to sound vain but I just want to feel like myself again. I don`t feel young and sexy any more, even though my boyfriend tells me he wants me just as much as before...

Other-poll poll Hi Everyone. Please give me your comments on this. I have ten-week-old twins, and before they were born I was absolutely determined to breastfeed them for months and months. I`m afraid I only breastfed them exclusively till 6 or 7 weeks, and have now, at ten weeks, stopped altogether. I am absolutely racked with guilt over this. It turned out to be so much more difficult and exhausting than I had expected. To have two demanding hungry little babas that needed to be feeding from me constantly meant I was completely overtired and, also, I kept getting mastitis, meaning I had to go on antibiotics and that feeding the babies was excruciating. It also gives you flu-like symptoms, so on top of exhaustion I had that. Also, my little girl twin had a weird way of sucking which really hurt me (she made a clicking sound that felt like my nippled was being really hurt) it hurt so badly I had to express for her instead of feeding her directly from the breast. So, I was breastfeeding my little boy, then expressing for my little girl. The stress of making sure I was expressing enough and had enough left over for the other baby was driving me demented too. Eventually, after a lot of convincing from my mother and my boyfriend, I gave in reluctantly but relievedly and started the babies on a bottle of formula a day. They are now solely on formula. This means other people including my boyfriend etc can help me feed them, but every time I am feeding them the formula I feel so awful, remembering the goodness of the milk I had for them, and knowing they are not getting what is best for them. Please someone help me to get over this guilt or even just tell me your experiences. I am so disappointed with myself for not continuing the breastfeeding, but looking back at the state I was in i do know why I stopped. Still, this doesn`t help the guilt. I love love love my babies so much, and I hate that they are not getting what they need. Should I restimulate my milk production (I think I still could with the pump) or should I just move on? Will I get over this? I had such good intentions.Thank you for any comments or replies!

Other-poll poll Has anyone here had mastitis? I have it (my twins are 2 weeks old) and I am in bits with it: I have flu-like symptoms and sore breasts and nipples and I feel so so bad, looking after the babies is seeming overwhelming. I have tried cabbage leaves and am on antibiotics which at first seemed to help but now I feel as bad as I did before I started taking them, or worse. My temperature is 102.2 degrees F. Anyone got any tips? I have tried cabbage leaves which eases the heat of the breast but not much else. Just looking for some support I suppose! Please help if you have experience. I have 2 hungry newborns to feed! Thank you!

Name-poll poll We are having twins and I came up with the girl`s name (which my boyfriend was happy with too) and we settled on that, and then I kind of said that he could have the final say on the boy`s name. He`s come up with a lot of weird-ish names that didn`t go down well with me or the families (!) but the latest choice isn`t so weird, but I`m not sure I`m mad about it. It just doesn`t jump out at me as being my son`s name, if you know what I mean! My question is, should I just go for it as it`s the best of a bad bunch? We`re having them on Tuesday by the way! The latest one he`s thought of is: `Louis`.

Pregnancy-poll poll Twin mothers: I am 33 1/2 weeks pregnant with b/g twins, and I have 4 1/2 weeks to go till I have them. Should I expect a slow-down in their growth-rate from now on in the pregnancy? So far they`ve been growing at the rates of two singletons; will their growing slow down now? thanks for any comments!

Name-poll poll My boyfriend loves the idea of calling our boy-twin `Hudie` (pronounced `hyoo-dee`) after the American singer from yeeeears back -- Leadbelly! I really don`t know what to think, we are Irish so this name is NOWHERE in the country, and my parents just laughed and went `WHAT?!` when I told them he was thinking of that name.. Do you think it is too off the wall, especially for Ireland, or do you think I should let him call his son after someone he admires?! I don`t want to hurt his feelings! We have chosen a good, old Irish name for our little girl-twin, so that`s sorted... What do you think? Comment if you can please!

Pregnancy-poll poll Ok, I am 29 weeks pregnant with twins, don`t have stretchmarks yet (touch wood) and am wondering whenabouts did other mammies get them in their pregnancies, and if it`s likely I will get them! My mother got them, so it`s in the genes, but I have been rubbing oil and body botter on like mad, and am hoping to avoid them; opinions, experiences?! Bit of a petty worry I know...!
