Does anyone know if a family doctor can refer you for an ultrasound? I`m 6 weeks pregnant and my midwife has no appointments until the beginning of February. I had some spotting that I was a little worried about which has now stopped. I`m not planning on having my midwife deliver this baby but I was hoping she`d at least get me in soon since I was already a patient and she`d refer me for an ultrasound just to be sure everything looks good. I have a great relationship with my family doctor so I was thinking maybe I could ask her to send me a referral for an ultrasound. Do you think she could?

My husband and I are moving and the walls really need to be painted. They are in good condition but an elderly woman lived in the house before and you can tell from the sea foam green living room and the pale yellow bedrooms! Anyway, we chose a neutral tan for our room and our son`s room as it will match both rooms. We`re really struggling with the living room though! We have woode furniture and a matching set for our shelves, end tables, tv stand, and chest/coffee table and our couch, love seat and chair are a warm tan almost gold color. Any suggestions?

Long story short, my husband and I are going to try to conceive after my period ends (next week) but if we aren`t pregnant by February, we`ll have to stop trying for 2 months. Just curious, did you notice any difference or anything in your breasts if you conceived while breastfeeding? My breasts felt heavy around 7-8 weeks when I was pregnant with my son but I expect they`d feel different if you`re breastfeeding while pregnant.

My son is turning one in 3 days and he`s been breastfed since he was born. The other day my breast was a little tender but I didn`t think much of it. Now today it`s pretty hard and sore and I`m shocked that now after nursing for this long, suddenly I have mastitis. I feel like my body is gone all wacky on me! I have mastitis and I ended my period on the 2nd and now I`m spotting. Anyone else had mastitis this late in the game? Or if you`ve had it, can it cause spotting or are they totally random and I just have bad luck (lol)

So anyone that remembers my last poll...I had 3 different brands of pregnancy tests and 5 faint positives out of 8 tests. Anyways, I went to the doctor yesterday for a blood pregnant test and they said no that I`m not pregnant. I feel super confused right now! My son Jackson is 8 month old and a little daredevil (as seen above hehe). Anyways, he`s now walking while holding one of my hands with only one of his and today he pulled himself up on my leg and then let go and stood completely unassisted for about 25-30 seconds. I think he may be walking soon but a lot of people say babies won`t walk before 1 year. Anyone`s LO walk prior to 12 months?

Pregnancy test help! I took a test this afternoon (I couldn`t wait til tomorrow morning) and it came up with a very very faint looking positive. It got darker as the minutes passed but the line is definitely there and it`s a pink line. Am I pregnant?! I do have a test to take in the morning but my mind is reeling as to whether or not that test is actually a positive.

Is it normal for a baby to lose a little weight once they really start crawling and moving a lot? My son is 7 months and lost a few ounces recently. I have super super sensitive skin and if my razor is even the slightest bit dull, I end up with a few ingrown hairs on my legs. They don`t hurt but they`re little red dots and it`s so annoying! Any remedies that could help or any way to get them to fix themselves? Anything? Thanks ladies!!

My son is teething (he`s almost 7 months old) and he just cut his first tooth last week. This week it looks like one or maybe 2 more are coming in. The night before his tooth popped through, he was up half the night, not crying or fussing, just wanting to play and crawl and laughing. He did it again last night and now this morning I can see the tip of the tooth and it looks like it will probably pop through by tomorrow. Anyone else`s LO have the same reaction to teething?

My son has a yeast diapers rash and we cannot get it to go away! We were using exclusively cloth diapers and we started using disposables only at night thinking it may help it go away faster. No luck. Then we tried using disposables during the day as well. No change. It`s been a week and a half and we went through 2 tubes of prescription cream to help it and it didn`t do anything to it. Any tips to get it to go away or what could be causing it? We also tried changing him every hour and that didn`t help either.

I`d like to start a small garden but I`m not sure what to plant or what would work well in those circumstances. Any one have any suggestions? I want to do maybe one or two types of flowers and then some veggies. Also, we only have about 3-4 months of solid summer (New York). Thanks!!!

My son is exclusively breastfed (5 months old) and I would like to get back to working out a little here and there. I ran and worked out pre-pregnancy and while pregnant but I`ve heard working out can affect your milk. Anyone know anything about this or if I can work out and how much? Obviously BF my son is WAY more important to me than working out at all but I`d like to do a little per week if possible. Thanks!

So my husband and I currently live in an apartment and our lease is up for renewal. Well it asks where you work and how much you make on the lease and I`m now a SAHM and my husband was laid off in November but is starting school next month. We`ve paid our rent on time every month for 2 years and are able to live on the unemployment for the time being. That being said, can they not renew our lease since neither of us are working even though we can afford to live here?

I need some advice. My husband and I moved into our apartment 2 years ago and we loved it! Good location, quiet neighborhood, and best of all, inexpensive! We planned on staying here for a few years and then purchasing a house since our rent was so low, we were able to save alot. Anyways, my husband was laid off due to his work closing shortly after I had our son. We can still afford our rent but money is tighter now obviously. Well now everything is hitting the fan! We`re on the 2nd floor of a 3 floor building and water is coming down through our wall in 2 rooms which we assume must mean its coming through the apartment above us as well from the roof. Our a/c unit and isn`t sealed properly and water is leaking around it as well. My issue is that I`m worried about the fact that mold and mildew must be forming with all the dampness from leaking and our son is starting to crawl. I`m worried for his health and I`m not sure talking to maintenance will help! I mean I think they`d have to tear the walls out and I doubt they`d be so willing to do so even if we say it`s for the safety of our son. We can`t really afford to move but I`m worried we may have no choice! What should we or can we do??

A girl I know caries her baby around in a sling at home when she`s cleaning and cleans her counters with spray cleaners while carrying him. Now he`s in a sling, right at counter level, breathing in all those fumes and chemicals. What are your opinions on this?

I use a diaphragm for birthcontrol and I`ve used it since mid October. I`ve never had any problem with it and we usually have sex a few times a week. Now the last few weeks I`ve had trouble getting it out! My cervix is really high all of a sudden. I know it moves during ovulation but what would cause it to move that high and stay there? Thanks!

I`m so sorry, I know this is more of a question but I am at my wit`s end! My 3 month old cosleeps with us and he was sleeping 7 hours straight and than I`d nurse him and he`d sleep another few hours. # nights ago he woke up every hour. The next day we both started getting sick. Since then he seems completely back to normal but still will not sleep. I`ve been in tears every night because I don`t know what to do and I`m so tired! Can anyone please help??

My son is EBF and for whatever reason, every single times he poops it leaks out his diaper. Usually it comes up and out the back but occasionally leaks around the legs too. We have tried Huggies, Pampers, Luvs, and a few store brands. NOTHING stops it! I make sure they fit right and the elastic is positioned properly around the legs. HELP! I`m so tired of going through more than 3 outfits per day.

So I am a HUGE fan of baby-wearing. I registered for a sling for my shower and I use it more than my stroller. It`s easy to pack in the diaper bag, leaves my hands free, and I don`t run the risk of running into people (haha). Anyways, I would like to make a wrap like the Sleepy Wrap or Moby Wrap. The measurements are listed on the website and it`s ultimately just a long piece of fabric. Would you ever consider making your own or am I crazy?

I saw these things called `onesie extenders` that fill in the gap if you can`t get the onesie snapped. Is there any store that sells these? I`d like to just go buy them iunstead of oredering online and my son`s onesies all fit but he`s long so they are tight lengthwise. Thanks!!
