My name is Candy and this is my pregnancy story of my last pregnancy ever......Here is some back ground to that statement.....
Well it all began in 1995 when I met my husband Jay! He is a GREAT guy, a great dad and I love him dearly. We met through a mutual friend and soon started dating. We moved from MN to AZ at the end of 95 and found out we were pregnant with our daughter. She was born May of 1996. We decided then that we did not want any more children, unfortunatly we never made any permanent changes to our bodies to accomidate that decision!! Whoops!! My DH has a son from a previous marriage too! (he will be 15 in Oct!!)
So Jay and I married in 2000 (yep, it had to be a millenium wedding!) And have been together since. I was very young when I had our daughter and viewed it as a "surprise" and thats what she has been told. However, I have always felt that I dealt her a dirty hand by having her so young! I was barely 19 when she was born! So I was a very young, ignorant, pregnant woman, who had NO clue what I was in for! I had developed many complications in the last trimester of my pregnancy with her. I was anemic, had low amneotic fluid, and was boardering on having gestational diabetes, not to mention that I was carrying her all out front and she was frank breech! What a big ball of mess I was!!
I think all those previous complications have had an huge effect on my views of this pregnancy, and not too positively either! But I am getting more and more used to the idea that I am having another child and this one seems to be different all together! I don't "feel" pregnant and have been sick very little, so that is a start to making this a positive experience. Hopefully, this time (being that I am a lot older now), I can handle the stress and changes in my body a bit better!!
With all that being said, onward I march into motherhood again!!

Well our second daughter, Hannah, has arrived and is now one month old! We are adjusting to life with a new baby rather clumsily at the moment...but we are settling in to a routine day by day. Jay and I are doing well as a couple and have found a little alone time in the last week, which was MUCH needed! Life is getting back to normal little by little, and so my post partum depression has been getting better too.
Our oldest daugther, Nikki, turns 13 on May 1st....and oh my gosh do I feel old as dirt! We have been trying to make her feel as special as possible right now and to make sure she doesn't feel forgotten in the midst of the new addition to our family. She is adjusting really well, and has been a huge help to us with Hannah, she LOVES being a big sister!
So all in all, things are on track to be fantastic....I'll be updating more soon.
We love our Girls!!

Well I started back to work today and I am sooooo sad!! I miss Hannah like mad, and it is rather strange to be away from her. I have spent the last 8 weeks at home with her 24 hours a day 7 days a week....and now I am having second thoughts about coming back to work! On my drive in this morning I was almost in tears and kept thinking "what if I worked part time..." My husband would kill me thats what!!
Anyways, I'll get used to it in time and besides she is in VERY capable loving hands everyday! Jay's Aunty Kathy is the one watching my little jelly bean, and she is also a foster mom to mentally challenged children who were born addicted to drugs. So she has a very loving, nurturing, patient personality!! We are sooooo lucky to have her so close to us and willing to care for Hannah while we work.
Nikki is adjusting really well to having a baby in the house, but she seems a bit more occupied with her friends than she was before. But that could simply be her age, I mean she just turned 13 yrs old back on the 1st....and she has her very first boyfriend. Which scares the hell outta me!!!!!!!!! Although us bringing Hannah home was kind of like live in birth control for our new teenager, that and she and I have had MANY conversations about boys and sex and love. Something I didn;t have with my parents, so I am bound and determined that she DOES!
So thats about the jist of whats been happening with us. Oh and my 32nd Birthday in this weekend....so lets recap....8 week old baby, 13 yr old daughter with a boyfriend, married for 10 years and turning 32....good lord I am feeling every minute of it all! Ha ha ha!

Well, the months are flying by and Hannah is now 4 months old and getting ready to cut two teeth! Things seem to be straightening themselves out with being a mother to a baby again. I do have my moments of insanity, but the depression seems to be getting better. I've been asked to be the Maid of Honor in my friends wedding next July, and I am very excited! It's another reason for me to get back in shape....Hannah and Nikki have taken their toll on my body!
My step son left to go back to his mother in Ohio two weeks ago, we'll miss him a lot! Hannah was a bit confused by him, thats for sure, she woudl sit and listen to him talk and just stare! His voice sounds a LOT like Jason's so I think she was confused as to who Austin really was. He was scared of her and that was hilarious to watch!!! He would hold her like she was a smelly dog or a dirty wet towl...that way that you hold them out in front of you without getting touched. LOL!! Loved it!!!
So, we are in a recession here in the U.S. and it's taking a huge toll on everyones pocket books. Not too many people are saying that they are ok, I have had seven friends and three relatives that have all lost their jobs! I can only hope that I can hold onto mine, and that Jason can too! That is the very last thing we need these days, things are hard enough as is now!

Hannah is now 7 months old and time is flying by so fast for us. We've moved and started over in a new place, and Nikki started 8th grade! My step son just turned 16 last week and we are feeling very old at the moment! Hannah now has four teeth and two more coming in and is eating all sorts of foods now. We introduced her to a sippy cup yesterday, and she hated it! Ha ha ha...she is quite adament about what she likes and actually throws fits if you take a toy away. She loves to play, play, play!!
Hannah can sit up unassited for a little bit now, and rolls all over the place. She is also rocking on all fours getting ready to crawl. Her favorite thing to do at the moment is get into everything she can reach from her walker! She is very coordinated, and can get the walker through the whole house! She likes to chase our Pomeranian Maggie and corner her...evil little girl!! LOL!!
She is still not sleeping through the night, but does fall back into sleep fairly quickly when she wakes. I can't wait for the days she actually sleeps all night!! So thats about it for this update...
Well, enough of my goings on for today, take care!
lol sooo cute! She could be famous
she is so cute ....
This 'flipping' me the middle finger was completely by mistake and I didn't even catch it until I loaded the pics from my camera to my computer....I guess she really is my mirror child!! LOL!!
She is adorable!!! |
