This is number 2 for me, but the first from my current marriage. My husband also has a son from his first marriage. We were at the beach a few weeks ago at some store. The lady behind the counter was not from around here....Caribbean I think. Anyway, she looked at my husband and out the the blue said, "With boys, you have to whip their ass. I have two boys and I have to whip their asses to make them behave." My husband mentioned that his son was with him. Then she said, "With little girls, you have to watch them much closer." He said, "It's funny you should say that because my wife is pregnant." She said, "I know." I've also taken a few of those gender predictor deals online and they all say a girl. We'll see.

I had the ultrasound today and everything looked good...well, looked like a little alien. = ) She said that although things are quite small, it looks like a boy.

Checkup today and the baby's heart was in the 140's. She didn't give a specific number. I'm scheduled for the AFP bloodwork, but am not sure if I will do it since the chance of having problems is .25% and the rest isn't always accurate. Next ultrasound is scheduld for October 23, 08 with an insurance code of low weight gain need. I hate insurance. I guess they think I need to have a problem before they'll pay for another ultrasound and a 2 lb. weight gain at this stage is considered low...or something.

Girl - Cadence Avery St. Clair

Boy - Cian Skye St. Clair (pronounced like Ian with Key in front)

So my ultrasound was supposed to be today, but apparently I go to a doctor whose office is run by imbeciles. They told me on the 25th that I would get one and I show to have them tell me they don't even do them there. I've scheduled an appointment tomorrow at the 3D place. I also scheduled my next appointment with a different doctor. All I found out today is that my baby's heartbeat was in the 150's and my belly measured 22 centimeters. On the bright side, my husband has decided he's OK with finding out the gender so that I can plan a little better. Also, I am finally feeling the baby kick and know it's that and not other things in my stomach.

I was in a hurry yesterday, so the announcement looks less than excited. He was so perfectly sweet! I had to go out today and buy him some clothes. I hate it that the infant stuff looks like a bunch of goober clothes though. I did find something at The Children's Place that didn't involve tons of trains, puppies, or things like that. There's also a great website for skaters...littleruler.com. Oh yeah, and now I think we're changing names. Looking at Cameron Evan St. Clair now.

Yay! Evan finally felt the baby move. I was already in the bed and he came in from outside with cold hands. He put them on my belly and the baby immediately woke up and gave Evan a good kick. Of course, he got excited and he did a little "tap, tap" on my belly and the baby did a "kick, kick." This went back and forth about 20 times and then I guess the baby had to go back to sleep. Today I went in to the doctor and everything looks good, although I've apparently gained 7 pounds since my last appointment. She said I was behind on the weight gain before, so it was OK. However, from here on out, I need to stick with 1 pound per week.

We went to our second 3D/4D ultrasound today and the baby is sideways. He's not in the breech position, but not heads down either. Of course, we have plenty of time for that. He had the umbilical cord over his face and it was cute to watch him get it off of his eyes. At one point, he had it grasped in his hand with his thumb in his mouth. Also, it was surprising to see that he has long eye lashes already! Less surprising was that he has chubby cheeks and legs with full lips like Dustin. The girls may be jealous. I think he may have Evan's nose and maybe I'm biased, but he's a beautiful boy! Also, we have no idea what to him him....AGAIN!
