October 31, 2007 - My doctor cancelled my prenatal visit today, due to an emergency c-section. I'm relocating a hour away from where I currently live. I decided to find a doctor there to take care of me and the baby. I was contemplating driving back and forth...but I decided against that.November 7, 2007 - I saw my new OB doctor today, He was rude and abrupt...I kinda missed my old OB doctor, he smiled a lot, and was very friendly. Unfortunately, my old doctor hadn't forwarded my records to the new doctor so he wouldn't see me. I was definitely pissed off. I think they are dragging their feet, because the drive isn't that long...I could have kept seeing him. My concerns today was my thyroid, and the baby..even though I feel him moving around alot, I'm still worried. While I was packing to relocate... I thought I might have hurt myself, lifting items, cleaning out the place, etc. I started having contractions, my mom suggested I wait until my OB appointment on the Oct 31...since I wasn't bleeding or having really bad pains. The ultrasound tech did a sonogram, the baby was very active. A few weeks ago, he started kicking lightly, so now, I feel him poking me all the time. I got to see his profile..he's the splitting image of his dad. Anyway, I'm going back to the doctor next week on the 15, hopefully the records will be there, and we can address the thyroid issue. November 14, 2007 - I decided to name my lil prince Timothy Lee..... November 15, 2007 - I have a doctor's appointment today with my new doctor....I'll keep you posted!!My doctors appointment went okay...they tested me today to see if I was dilating....My next appointment on November 21 at 8 a.m., I'm going to have a glucose test at mynext appointment...I'm also getting another 2D ultrasound done that same day at 10 a.m.!! Because I relocated and changed doctors..my new doctor wanted me to have another one done..yeah!!. November 30, 2007 - I got a call today from my OB Doctor stating that I failed the sugar test...so I'll have to do the 3 hour test at my next appointment on December 21 December 21, 2007 - I did my 3 hour glucose testing along with, testing for my thyroid, Hep C, and HIV. My next appointment is on January 4 @ 2:30 p.m. Afterwards I got a chance to see my lil man for the first time...I HAD A 3D ULTRASOUND done with a DVD....I can't explain it...it was amazing!! He's looks just like his donor, he's chubby ...big cheeks..., I don't know why I thought he would be small, maybe because I'm not really that big...but, I'm getting anxious now..I can't wait to hold him!! I'm having Braxton Hicks more frequent which is now getting painful.. I'm not sleeping well, every thirty minutes I'm up using the bathroom...and only a few drops of urine comes out. My lil man is also getting heavy...He's dropped already so hopefully, I'll be having him very soon. January 2, 2008 - I had my doctor's appointment today, I got a script for all my diabetic supplies.. I have to start checking my blood sugar before all meals.January 9, 2008 - My test results came back okay, my thyroid levels were normal. I'm starting on a new diabetic medication called 'glyburide'. A few days ago, I started having really bad BH contractions, so I was put on the fetal monitor to see if I was in 'true' labor. I didn't have one contraction while on the machine..I was so upset. Anyway, I'm having an elective c-cesearan. My doctor said if I wanted to have one that was up to me....so yeah!! I'm having my stress test next friday @ 8:45. January 14, 2008 - I went to the Hospital last nite thinking 'This is it'..'It's time to have my lil man'..Well..false alarm, I guess they get alot of moms coming in wanting things to be done and over with. The nurse hooked me up to the fetal monitor, I had only one contraction. She said everything looked good, baby is doing great. They gave me a few glasses of water saying 'I might be dehydrated. She said 'come back in 9 or 10 days, you'll probably be ready then'. I had not dilated anything...I'm so concerned that I may have to go to 40 weeks, and then be induced. I'm going for my first non-stress test this friday on the 18th. January 30, 2008 - Me and my mom went to the hospital because I was having cramps in my lower abdomen. They put me on the NST(non-stress test) monitor, the baby of course was sleeping, they had to give me caffeine to wake him up. When my lab work came back they said I had protein in my urine, and my liver enzymes were elevated. I kinda got scared because that could mean preclampsia. The mid-wife came in to evaluate and talk to me, ask me a bunch of questions. She said my liver and kidneys labs were abnormal. Anyway, they released me with discharge instructions and told me follow-up with my doctor tomorrow.January 31, 2008- - I went to the see a new doctor today, and found out that I do in fact have stenosis of the cervix...which means that my cervix has severe scarring . Hopefully, they'll schedule my c-section ASAP. My mom think I need to go ahead and try to have the baby, I'm not sure I agree..If I won't be able to dilate why go through labor...I'll keep you all informed. February 6, 2008...At this point in my pregnancy I'm thinking I'm 38 weeks pregnant. My doctor told me at 32 weeks if I can make it to 39 weeks they'd give me an elective c-section. So, I left home at 6:30 a.m. for my hour long drive for my doctors appointment to finally schedule my c-section!! I woke up this morning to a fasting blood sugar of 161!! My mom came to the door as I was leaving worried about the drive, and offered to drive me herself. The distance is so long, we had just been the the local hospital the night before because I thought it was time for the baby to come. She was also worried due to the fact..I had a flat tire, trying to get to one of my appointment, which of course I tried to change myself on the Interstate. But, I'm totally ready for this to be over with. I'll do just about anything right now. I stopped at Burger King for a quick breakfast, then proceeded to my doctors office for my 8 a.m. appointment. I hadn't seen my doctor at this location in about 3 weeks. I found an OB doctor in my area, because I wasn't sure I'd make it to them if I went into labor. The ARNP was pissed because she hadn't seen me in about 3 weeks...she reviewed my blood sugars, and medication, and decided I needed to see the medical direcor of the clinic at the hospital across the street. I'm thinking...161 that's not a big deal. Some of my other reading were almost 300, my blood sugars almost always come back down, so I wasn't really worried. I called my mom..told her that I think they are going to try to take the baby today...and I'd get back with her if I needed her to bring my bag. I got to the hospital and saw the medical director she immediately told me today is the day...he's going to be born today....I said.."I wanted to wait at least until I was 39 weeks to make sure he'd be okay"....they sent me down to ultrasound...they scan all his organs, checked his lungs....everything turned out okay...he measured 37 weeks....I was sent back to labor and delivery to prep for my c-section.....They gave me about 4 or 5 bags of fluids, I kept going to the bathroom to pee, on the way to my c-section my doctor said "Not yet...I have a vaginal that's coming right now...take her back to her room...so me and the nurse walked back to my room...my mom was waiting..she didn't want to be in the delivery so...I did it alone with the nurse, scrub tech, my doctor, the anesthesia doctor and the neonatal doctor. HE'S HERE!!!! I had my lil bundle today..My day started out with just a routine doctors appointment...and it ended with me leaving the doctors office and going straight to the hospital, being told that I was having an cesarean section ASAP or risk having...possibly a dead fetus. I'll have to finish the story another time...but I did give birth to Nehemiah Jaleel ..at 3:22 p.m. - 7 lbs 11 ounces - 19 1/2 inches long - I'm really surprised he came out healthy because I measured at exactly 37 weeks!! - He's healthy, beautiful and perfect!! Pictures should be up next week!!
