I had my first ultrasound on moday and we found out it's a girl!!!!! I am estatic and have already bought a few things for her. My entire family was expecting a baby boy however, due to superstitious stuff they were so certain it was a boy, so it made me a little sad and weepy to see the disappoint in their eyes. My husband was consoling me and kept reminding me that this is OUR baby, not anyone else's, so as long as WE are happy then that's all that should matter. During the ultrasound we saw her moving around a lot and I didn't even feel a thing! And when her head started bouncing up and down, I asked the tech why she's doing that and the tech said she had the hiccups!! awwwww... we even saw little bubbles coming out of her mouth.. it was sooo adorable =) I was 18 weeks and 5 days at the time of the ultrasound but the tech said my baby was measuring a week bigger and was already 10+ ounces! So I either have a really big baby or I'm actually further along in my pregnancy, and instead of august 6th, they are moving my expected due date to august 1st! I am so excited, I can hardly wait until my baby kayla arrives ;D

Just stopping by to see how things are going??? Any new news?? Me, not a thing...I am beginning to think I will be over due :o(

You're most welcome for continued support and thank you so much for yours! I think you're onto something in the "business of being born" aspect. Yet, alas no, they have not scheduled a date for inducement. That's what I find so confusing. I am going to one of the best hospitals around (read: busy all the time) so I can't imagine not scheduling it by this point since it's doubtful I'll get in without some notice. Confusion stems from Drs. telling me for months that I will (1) not go to term, or (2) at most not go past my due date. Guess they changed the plan on my last appt w/o telling me how/why they made that call. In many ways it's good since I'll be able to try to have a natural birth, and I like to think they wouldn't even let me try unless they beleived the BP is under control. On the other hand, my genes say this child could be 3-4 weeks late and I am SURE that's not ok w/ high BP. So why not schedule the induction now? Anyway, we'll see what happens... I'm walking a lot (though apparently not a great dilator) and making my husband find time for husbandly duties. Maybe it'll happen. So stressful right now waiting, huh? Little wonder you and hubby had an argument. Thankfully you made up in a great way! Good luck to you - prayers for you and the little one.

thanks a bunch.. I havent leaked since this morning. Im just getting very anxious and restless because i want her here so bad!

emilyanne - 20.4 hours ago
You are not really overdue until 42 weeks. From 40-42 weeks you can drink red raspberry tea, have a membrane sweep, or at the last resort drink castor oil. (causes major diarrhea! but also causes labor.) Good luck! :)

OMG...I'M SORRY I CONFUSED MYSELF. I GET IT!!! I looked at your LMP and thought that was your original due date because you put 2008 instead of 2007. lmao

Ok, now it makes perfect since to me because my LMP was only a couple days after yours, hence my 08/08/08 due date and your 08/06/08 due date. Yes, you gave me the confimation I was looking for. I believe I too conceived anwhere from early to mid November. Docs said around the 16th.

Thanks for your reply.

I saw your post about induction causing a C-section. It's that time, isn't it? We know the baby needs to come out, for God's sake, we WANT the baby to come out. But HOW exactly is that going to happen again? You're a toughie, you can do it either way! Not so sure I can! I'll be thinking about you this week as we stand on baby-watch 2008.

everyone is different so dont worry about. Getting induced can be painful but you can always get an epidural. Good luck!

ok!! thanks alot. :)

Well they won't do any inducing with medicine until I'm 2 weeks overdue...this is just supposed to get the process started "naturally." I know a few people on this site have mentioned they've had their membranes stripped (not the same as breaking them) either now or in the past and that it hasn't even really been successful so I don't like the idea of that pain for no gain! :P

alkalibee - Thursday, 24 July
Thank you!! That does make me feel better :-)

firsttimemomtobe - Wednesday, 23 July
This is my first pregnancy and everything is been perfect and normal throughout. My due date is Aug.4th, and my doctor just asked us if we would be interested in inducing and we took the opportunity, so we are scheduled for July 29th. Almost a week before my due date. I think every doc is different in what they will do and not do. It's just my opinon, but I think docs would rather induce because then they have a schedule and they aren't being called at midnight, ya know? I know that doesn't make it right, but I think it is part of the motivation behind inducing without medical cause.

Hey there! Not feeling too bad now, though I found out today I have a yeast infection caused by antibiotics that I finished up a week and a half ago for something else. Never had one before so not thrilled about this! The only good thing is that it's made me switch from feeling like I want the baby to come NOW to wanting to wait til this is all cleared up!

Doctor told me that if I haven't given birth by Tuesday that they'll manually strip my membranes in an effort to "naturally" induce labour but that sounds pretty uncomfortable and so I think I'd rather just hold it out a bit longer! As for your "resting time" I know it's kind of hard to enjoy it now but try to think of now as being extra "resting days" before your class starts! After all, especially with the baby you probably won't be getting too much rest soon.

Thank you for being so encouraging. I needed that! Good luck with your pregnancy and delivery. You sure have had a lot to contend with, and now you're almost there.

amandareese86 - Monday, 21 July
Oh yes, it was definetly a male doctor. I hope next time will be my last, because I've never dreaded going to my appointments until now. I felt like telling him to stop, and just let nature take its course. lol Oh well, thank you for your encouragement! I'll progress one of these days. Good luck with you too. You sound close!

cosmomama - Monday, 21 July
thank you for the message you sent me! It;s great to have support from everyone on here! It's good to know I'm not alone in my feelings. I know it's worth it, I just can't wait til it's done already!! I look forward to losing the weight, but feel helpless knowing the stretch marks are forever. How the heck can they clone a sheep and send satallites to Mars, but they can't get rid of stretch marks?!? I'm so sorry to hear that you went through all of that. And you are so right, there really are worse things in life. I guess I just didn't expect the stretch marks to be so big, red and everywhere. It'd depressing. But thank you for helping me see it at another angle. That's the best thing about this site, everyone has a different way of looking at things and it makes this this in my life easier to know that people understand. Anyways, thanks for the support and good luck with the end of your pregnancy!

Thank you for the nice comment, things like that are so nice to hear especially right now when I'm not feeling that wonderful about how I look. I am sure I am not the only one though who feels that way.

hcorreia - Saturday, 19 July
Ha- HA!! My husband is a nipple man too! I will have him work on that too! Let me know if you have any more progress. How did you make out with school? Did you finish and actually move on from that psycho teacher??

tiffjoy - Friday, 18 July
So glad that you stayed calm, good for you!!! The only time you should no longer be doing the mattress mambo is if your water has broke, or you are bleeding from a previa. Your mucus plug is just part of your cervix thinning, so the semen helps that along!! So we may not be doing much dancing this weekend, hehe!!! My boys come back on Sunday, so hopefully Mr. Colton can hold out until then!!! You have a wonderful weekend too hun!!!!

AliciaW825 - Friday, 18 July
Thank you so much for the reply, I wasnt planning on going to L&D and getting checked but I think today if it keeps happening I will go in after work just to make me feel a little better since you said I could have ruptured.

tiffjoy - Friday, 18 July
I see you had an eventful day!! Yeah!!! I started to lose my mucus plug this week as well. It was very sticky, kinda like a booger, eww I know, hehe!!! I was really hoping to go into labor this weekend but I just found out that my kids (while at their dads house) are going out of town. So now I want to wait until they are home, which is next week. I will be so crushed if they can't be there with us
We have picked a name, Colton Ryder!! I love the name Kayla. Keep me posted on your progress hun!!!!

irishbaby1 - Thursday, 17 July
No problem! Good luck and keeping fingers crossed for you. Take Care.
