I found out I was pregnant on Thanksgiving morning after being four days late. My husband and I were trying for a few months when I got pregnant for the first time, but unfortunately it ended in a miscarriage at 9 weeks. We are so excited about this pregnancy and are just praying that everything goes well. I had my first u/s at 8 weeks and got to see my baby as well as hear the heartbeat. I am looking forward to my 12 week visit!

Thursday, 17 Jan
Just had my second doctor `s visit January 16th. I thought that I would have an ultrasound every visit to see my baby, but apparently most insurances only cover one at 18 weeks! What a bummer, but the baby is healthy and We heard his/her hearbeat at 170!! So excited. I guess I have 6 more weeks to find out the sex of it.

February 11, 2008We found out we are having a girl!! YEAH!! Words can't express how excited we are. Now I am looking forward to coming up with a name for her. It is neat to actually call her a her considering she has been reffered to as `the baby ` or `it ` for 15 weeks!!

February 18, 2008 I had a usual four week doctor's appointment where we got to hear the heartbeat (healthy 150). I got a referral to see the U/S specialist to get measures and to find out the sex!!! I didn't tell my doctor that I already know it's a girl! (oops) Oh well it will be like our second confirmation. Looking forward to my March 10th appointment to see my baby girl again.

March 10th Went for 20 week Ultrasound. I got to see my little girl again. It `s amazing how in love we are with her and she isn `t even here yet! Doctor `s appointment in a week will give us the measurements of her.

Just got back from my doctor `s appointment and heartbeat was normal alhough she didn `t say what it was, just normal. No results yet from the ultrasound, hopefully next visit. I have gained an astounding 8 pounds! It puts me at about 15 total. Sounds like too much to me. I continue to exercise daily and will eat healthier, hopefully less of a weight gain in the future. Just happy my baby girl is A-okay!

Friday, 21 Mar

Just got back from a relaxing getaway that my husband surprised me with for my birthday! He rented a cabin in Big Bear which was so cute and romantic. He also had a prenatal massage planned that both baby and I (she kicked throughout it!) enjoyed so very much. I can `t complain about my life one bit.

On April 15th I had a doctor's appointment. Up only one pound in four weeks!! Yeah, that eight pounds last month was crazy!! Got to hear our baby girl's heartbeat. It was at about 150 beats per minute. Everything seems fine. I feel her kick a lot more lately. The doctor gave me a referral to do the gestational diabetes test. Probably will do it within a week or two. Feeling good at this point (week 26) slight back pain and sciatica, but other than that pretty good. Next appointment isn't for five weeks than I start going every two weeks.

How`s my pregnancy doing?

I took the test today for the gestational diabetes (28 weeks). I had to drink a lime flavored concoction, wait one hour and have my bood drawn. Hopefully everything comes back okay. My little girl has been moving a lot lately, almost as if she is doind somersaults in there. I love it and can't wait to meet her in just about two months!!

On May 17th we had our baby shower. We decided to have a coed one where all friends and family could join in the celebration. We had a great time aside from the temperature being in the high 9o's!!! We received so many wonderful things for our baby girl! There is not much left needed now to buy. It has been so much fun getting her room ready for her big arrival. Hurry up and get here July!!!

May 20th I Went to the doctor's today for my four week (technically five weeks) check up. Up five more pounds!! WOW now at a total of 18 lbs since 8 weeks. Blood pressure was normal. Good news, I passed the glucose test!! Yeah! Our baby girl sound beautiful on dopler. The doctor measured my belly and said it is where it should be at 30 weeks (28 cm). Whatever that means. I am feeling great, no more sciatica pain (cross my fingers it's gone for good) A bit tired, but the school year end is near (3 weeks to go) and I can enjoy the last month and a half work free before my little one arrives. My husband and I can't decide on names yet. The top two are Vanessa and Ashley. I am leaning more towards Vanessa and he likes Ashley a little bit better. Ahhhh I wish she would have a name already!!!

May 30th

It has been so much fun getting the nursery ready for our little one. I just had a third and final shower at work and of course recieved an abundance of baby things. We are so fortunate to have such generous people in our lives. I went to Babies R Us last night in hopes to find a glider for the nursery! Of course what I wanted was a special order only! Which isn't the issue, the issue is is that it is going to take 10-12 weeks before I get it!! My the baby will already be here. I guess I am just bummed because I want to have the nursery ready and complete for her arrival. I think it's the organizational freak in me! Well, Feeling well so can't complain too much.

Yeah thats one thing i am going to hate, being nine months in the worst heat ever. I'm gonna need my house to be freezing cold.
So far everything has been going good with my pregnancy, i've gained about twenty pounds so far. On my picture thats how i look right now, it was taken a week ago at my baby shower.
Anywho glad everything is ok with your baby.

Thanks! I got the toy bin at Target. The yellow bins came in blue but I saved the yellow one's from my older daughters toy bin so it would be pink, green and blue. Still super cute though : )

I have had siatic nerve pain with both of my pregnancies. This time around I would have to say it is the worst. I talked to my doctor and she said that you can take as much tylonal as you need for pain or discomfort. I also use a hot pad on my back at night and that helps out a lot. Try to also do leg excersizes. Sitting flat on your back, one leg flat the other bent and move the bent leg over the flat . I was told that is the pain does not go away or even gets worse I will have to go throught therapy again and I do not want another appointment. Also I find the less work you do in a day and the more you stay off your feet it will not hurt as much. Good luck to you.

katcoat - Tuesday, 29 April
My doctor suggested getting a "belt" made specifically for our bellies to help support some of the weight. She said that you can get them at any maternity store. Hope that helps

MelisaK - Tuesday, 29 April
Hey, I have been having the sciatic pain also but it has been off and on. Someone told me to use a heating pad and to lay on the opposite side of the pain. I hope this helps!

hello, I was the klutz that fell in the shower a couple of days ago, and went to my doctor's appt. today and everything is okay with my baby! I was so nervous, but I knew everything would be okay. Thanks for your comment.

My hubby has done some research on pregnant women who snore and apparently its from the increased weight as well as the increased congestion that can come from pregnancy...I know I have noticed the congestion part this pregnancy...the strips definately help feeling I can breathe more, but apparently, I still snore...I must be sleeping soundly as I rarely hear my hubby telling me to 'shhhhh', but apparently I too wake him a few times/night...I just keep telling him its training for him waking up many times during the night when the baby arrives...lol

Jesnik059 - Friday, 11 April
Thanks for the comment. I am so excited!!! I can't wait to have one. I love regualr massages in general. I know I place here that has a table that dips down for your belly to go in and that seemed really neat to me 2. I don't know about the one my where my mom is though. Regardless I'm sure it will feel great :) Congrats on your little girl. I'm having a girl as well.

queenbee - Tuesday, 8 April
Thanks for the comment. Your going to have to eventually wash everything before you put it on the baby. I would just have a nuetral outfit for the hospital, just in case. But you are probably fine. Congrats on your little girl, and I hope your pregnancy goes smoothly for the remainder.

I got the brown diaper bag from walmart and the orange one was given to me by a friend-- it think it was at a small store her in town, i dont even know the name of it-- I believe she just picked it out and they put her name on it. it is the same place the his cousin made the bib, burp cloth and bloomer with her name.

Hiya, I've just read your post on week 21, just thought I'd let you know that in the UK they dont weigh us at all apart from at the very beginning! The docs have decided that it has little to do with the growth of the baby so there is no point, unless of course the mother is gaining stupid amounts of weight I guess! I really do not think that 15lbs is excessive though, I've already gained 11lbs :) I would try not to worry, just do as you have been and keep eating as much as your body wants you to (within reason! lol) Good luck anyway! xx

skyeandlee - Tuesday, 18 Mar
15 lbs!!!! That's not that much! I don't know why they say that's too much. You need to be eating whenever you are hungry girl. Don't take it personally, everyone has diffferent opinions. If you feel healthy then EAT! What else do we have to enjoy during pregnancy (besides the baby of course) it's not like we can look forward to looking great during pregnancy, you have to gain some weight. As long as it's healthy food then EAT. Conrats on your baby girl.

nicole-noelle - Tuesday, 18 Mar
I have gained 15 pounds and they said im right on track, im due 4 days before you. I would not worry about it. =o)

katcoat - Tuesday, 18 Mar
I don't think that is much at all. I have gained 13lbs so far but if you think of it we are going on our 6th month of pregnancy. As long as you are eating healthy and even just walking every day when it comes time to lose the weight it shouldn't be hard. You probably look great so don't worry about it.

Thanks for the note - I am so excited about my baby girl! Say, can you tell me the best way to get the glitter stuff?
