Monday, 6 October Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com
Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.
You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Sunday, 27 July Wow, sounds like there are a lot of unknowns. We had a similar situation during the course of Cavin's first month when they were planning out the surgery. They couldn't tell exactly where his veins were wrong leading to his heart (which I guess makes a big difference as to the outcome), and he even had an MRI and they couldn't tell what exactly was going on. They didn't actually know everything until they opened him up--but for the most part his veins were in a relatively 'good' wrong location! I think babies hearts are just so small that it is hard to tell what is really going on. It would be awesome if you delivered and there wasn't really a problem! Are you going to deliver at a children's hospital? We are lucky that Denver has a very good children's hospital with a very good heart surgeon. What is the prognosis of the heart conditions that they think your baby has? Even though our prognosis was really good for our condition, I was scared to death during the first month when we were waiting to have the open heart surgery (because it was still open heart surgery!). I remember looking for all the good stories too, which is why I wanted to write to people on the heart defect page. Since Calvin had his surgery, I have heard tons of good stories about people that have had/had children that had heart surgery during infancy or childhood! shannon13 -
Saturday, 26 July Hi, I read your post on the heart defect page. My baby was born with a heart defect called TAPVR and required open heart surgery at one month old. THis was not something that they could see when I was pregnant so it was a complete shock to me (not sure whether it is better to know and prepare or not worry and find out later). He had open heart surgery at one month old and is now a very healthy 8 month old baby! Good luck to you, I would love to receive updates. 1stTimeMom2B -
Friday, 25 July Just remember that those ultrasound measurements can be off at least a pound! My doctor wont even try to estimate my little guy's size because he says it is so innacurate..

Wednesday, 23 July Hey thanks for sharing your story with me. My doc said my placenta was supplying enough blood and oxygen. He checked that at both sonograms. He also said amnio was good.So other than that I don't know why she isn't growing like he would like her too. I think it will be ok though. momof2oneonway! -

Monday, 14 July I guess the nesting is different with the first than with the others. I'm bringing so much in, and you're getting so much out.
Isn't it crazy how you move things with you that you never unpack? That's me for sure. Thank goodness we have a garage, because we have a teeny tiny apartment. adriennella -
Monday, 14 July I'm sorry to hear that your baby has heart problems. Are they monitoring you pretty closely?
I took the depo shot for a year in college, but it was terrible for me. I had many side effects, so the doctor took me off. I've tried at least 10 birth control pills, red wine, and pain meds. I just use red wine, Aleve, and most of the time I just try to cope with the pain with nothing at all. I have more trouble with the treatments than the pain most of the time...hence my preference for a natural childbirth.
This pregnancy has been wonderful. I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which was completely unexpected. It's really not so bad at all, though. I miss chocolates, but I feel a lot better on this diet than I did before. I really think I might just continue to eat this way after the baby comes, even though the diabetes is really likely to go away.
I've been working on my nursery a lot lately. Are you nesting, too? adriennella -
Monday, 14 July Thanks for all of your feedback about labor and endo.
I also had the laproscopy, but it seemed to make things worse rather than better. I feel so lucky to have gotten pregnant without any help.
How's this pregnancy going for you. You're so close! pregnantdebs -

Tuesday, 8 July Thank you so much for your reply, and congratulations on pregnancy #3! I was wondering how your endo pain compared to labor pain. Since I have such extreme endo pain, I am contemplating no meds during labor. I sort of feel like I've experienced similar feelings, but maybe I'm completely wrong. Ethansmom08 -
Monday, 30 June Hi Kendra,
I am glad to hear that your baby has a mild case. Best of luck to you. Thank you for being so helpful to me. You are such a sweet person to think of me in times like this.
Will you find out the sex of your baby? Or will you be surprised? More and more, I am thinking that I would like the next one to be a surprise. But I have trouble waiting, I am very impatient! :)
Well, please let me know if you need anything and keep me posted on the echos.

Monday, 23 June Hi 2 wonderful girls. I had a baby in Feb. 2008 that had hypoplastic left heart syndrome. I was wondering how you are doing and if you need someone to talk to or just validate your feelings, please let me know. It was the worst time in my life, so I know exactly what you are going through. I am interested in knowing how you and your daughter are doing. Please let me know if I can help in any way. Friday, 20 June Anna was in a great hospital as well. NYU. That really helps. It's good that you know in advance so docs can be prepared and so can you. Thankfully, things worked out for Anna and she is truly thriving. I think the experience will make her stronger in the long run, although sorry she had to go through so much. But again, babies are resilient and what they can do these days is pretty amazing. God bless. LoveMyBelly6 -
Friday, 20 June My baby had coarctation of the aorta and a hole in her heart. We didn't know in advance. She's fine now, thank goodness. Be strong. The technology is amazing these days and babies are incredibly resilient. All the best.
