This is my 3rd pregnancy I have two other wonderful daughters and I thought 'oh my other pregnancies were a breeze I can't wait to be pregnant again!' Boy did I jinx myself! This is has been the biggest roller coaster ride, with spotting and bleeding up until 12wks being told at 17 weeks we were having a boy! We told everyone and it was to be the first grandson in generations only to get another ultra sound 5 weeks later and they told us nope that is definitely a girl! This pregnancy has been soooo different from my girls I am still thinking that come delivery time there is a 30% chance the baby will come out to be a boy lol! Not good since the nursery is in ladybugs and totally girly! Now I am dealing with preterm contractions and dilation and with 2 kids at home not easy to just lay down and rest. I am a stay at home mom and doing things is what I do, I only had to be on bedrest for 3 days and I went crazy (and it was over easter weekend so no hunting or yummy dinner for me or hubby lol) So far that is my story I will keep updating hopefully good news!!!
March 26- Changed doctors today! Don't know if you saw my post but my original doctor moved to Cali so I just grabbed a doctor out of thin air and she and I didn't mesh well. Was in L & D 3 days over the weekend and one of the times I was there she was sitting at the desk and didn't even acknowledge me. Then she didn't even come to see how I was doing while i was there. My hubby was so mad! So yesterday I had an impromtu with another dr whom i loved and I called today and changed over to her!! YEAH!!
April 16- Things here are holding steady! Only 2 more weeks and I am free of all of the restrictions!! I am kind of nervous cause I keep thinking that the first thing I do (probably sex with hubby lol) I am going to go into labor! But my doc said they won't stop anything after 35 weeks! I have an appt with her when I am 35 weeks and 5 days so I am going to hold off till I see her and then away we go!!!!
May 7- Well I made it this far yeah!!! I am officially any day now as I am 2cm and 70% effaced baby is in position and very low! Been having good contractions but mainly little ones throughout the day! I want to go to 37 wks (only 5 more days!) and then it is game on!

I'd try it all........What worked for me was..I was having some mild contractions and I remebered reading it somewhere,well anyway. I started pinching my nipples (the whole thing) not to be gross but in a sexual way, pinching ,rubbing tugging on and massaging. OMG it made my contractions so painful, but it really worked. I know its what put me into labor. You know how some women contract on and off for a couple of days leading up tp labor? Well if you feel any of those start doing it. I did it for about 3 hours, up untill I went to the hospital. If I felt like my contractions were stopping I would start doing it again and they would pick right back up. Good luck!

I just read your post...Next time your contractions start, start pinching your nipples(tweeking them) just mess around with them. It should send you into labor at this point! It worked for me!

wow I cannot believe your Dr. let you go home when dilated to 4. I am at 2 and if I get to 4 they will not let me come home. But I do go from 4 to 10 in about an hour. This is my sixth so I do go fast. Well good luck and best wishes.

Well, assuming you are still here since you were online recently? I have passed the 48 hour mark on my membrane sweep, too, and nothing has happened. Yuck! My husband is driving me CRAZY - he is more anxious than me for this baby to come. I think I need to stop coming and checking this site repeatedly. It is depressing the lack of comments in the 40 week page. I need to find something else to distract me...any ideas, haha? Can you tell I'm either very bored or trying very hard to ignore my kids arguing in the background? Have a good day!

Just checking in to see how you were doing. I had the membrane sweep done this morning and have had not a single symptom! She said I was 2 cm, 50% effaced (which is what I have been for awhile). The sweep really didn't hurt that badly at all, and she was disappointed because there was no bloody show. (She said she did a very thorough job, though). Was this your first sweep or had you had one done a week or two ago? Hope you are off having your baby!

Im in the same boat as you, I had my membranes swept today like 6 hours ago and have been crampy, with contractions on and off, im due tuesday so im praying this works! I bleed quite a bit for about an hour andnow its pretty much gone! I hope it works for you!! let me know if theres any good news :)

With my first pregnancy I had my membranes swept and afterwards bled a little then started having contractions that night and my water broke the next morning! It usually works when you are close to your due date and you are!

Yes I had that from as soon as she did it for the two days, it is gross, it was quite heavy and had to wear a towel. But it's working - how exciting for you!!

I had my membranes swept with my first around 10 in the morning. I did have quite a bit of bleeding, cramping, and contractions for a few hours, then I went home and it all went away. We were bummed, but I went into true labor late that night. I don't remember exactly what time, but I do recall sitting on the toilet with my husband trying to force-feed me dinner so I would "feel better." I ended up hitting him - can we say that was transition? heehee Hope this finally does the trick for you! (The good news is you have almost half of your labor done with before you've even officially started, right?)

Yes I think there was a bit initially. Some midwives/docs have the knack of doing it am some don't so if she said that - it sounds good . How are you feeling now, crampy and generally rough??

I have a feeling you are going to have that baby REALLY soon...like tonight! I can't believe thay sent you home either! I bet if you just take a walk and maybe "get busy" with your husband =) you can seal the deal! My friend was scheduled to be induced yesterday...(she really didn't want to be), so as soon as her husband came home they took the kids to a sitters and started trying induction the "natural", fun way. Well she went into labor all on her own and had the baby at 4 am! She is so happy! Best wishes to you*

I had a membrane sweep with all mine. The last was the most effective. As soon as the midwife had done it I was v uncomfortable, bad period like pains, and lots of show. I had my baby 2 days later :)

I've had my membranes stripped twice so far. Caused a little spotting, and cramping that day, but that's it. I'm only 1cm though. You are way more dilated than me, so it might actually do something! Good luck!
