This is my 3rd pregnancy I have two other wonderful daughters and I thought 'oh my other pregnancies were a breeze I can't wait to be pregnant again!' Boy did I jinx myself! This is has been the biggest roller coaster ride, with spotting and bleeding up until 12wks being told at 17 weeks we were having a boy! We told everyone and it was to be the first grandson in generations only to get another ultra sound 5 weeks later and they told us nope that is definitely a girl! This pregnancy has been soooo different from my girls I am still thinking that come delivery time there is a 30% chance the baby will come out to be a boy lol! Not good since the nursery is in ladybugs and totally girly! Now I am dealing with preterm contractions and dilation and with 2 kids at home not easy to just lay down and rest. I am a stay at home mom and doing things is what I do, I only had to be on bedrest for 3 days and I went crazy (and it was over easter weekend so no hunting or yummy dinner for me or hubby lol) So far that is my story I will keep updating hopefully good news!!!
March 26- Changed doctors today! Don't know if you saw my post but my original doctor moved to Cali so I just grabbed a doctor out of thin air and she and I didn't mesh well. Was in L & D 3 days over the weekend and one of the times I was there she was sitting at the desk and didn't even acknowledge me. Then she didn't even come to see how I was doing while i was there. My hubby was so mad! So yesterday I had an impromtu with another dr whom i loved and I called today and changed over to her!! YEAH!!
April 16- Things here are holding steady! Only 2 more weeks and I am free of all of the restrictions!! I am kind of nervous cause I keep thinking that the first thing I do (probably sex with hubby lol) I am going to go into labor! But my doc said they won't stop anything after 35 weeks! I have an appt with her when I am 35 weeks and 5 days so I am going to hold off till I see her and then away we go!!!!
May 7- Well I made it this far yeah!!! I am officially any day now as I am 2cm and 70% effaced baby is in position and very low! Been having good contractions but mainly little ones throughout the day! I want to go to 37 wks (only 5 more days!) and then it is game on!

acually what to do is say ur having back pain and idarihha and menstral cramping, maybe they will break water, let meknow, i honestly dont think u will get sent home u gotta be at least 5cm

4.5 cm reallyand they let u be at home are us erious they admitte d me tues for 3cmand 80% effased, and not sure what I am now, but u are so dialted, why u not in hospital, that baby is gonna come out anytime, usually thats hard(ahrder labor omg) what did u dr say keep me posteed i ahve been80% and 3cm for a wk tommorow,a nd i got the shot for the bbays lungs they thing hes comming soon, tu its been a wka lreadya nd no baby, i had mylast one at 36 and my other 3 at 37 wks,a nd I was 60% effased and 3cm for 7 days last pregnancy and had the baby the 7th day! so I am hopping for tommrowo!

my stomach gets as tight as my forehead (that's how the nurses describe strong contractions, hard as bone). But I'm also crampy, mostly in my back and low by my cervix (where his head is putting down pressure). The nurses are SHOCKED that I'm smiling, laughing and typing away on my computer...but I'm trying to remain in control and not fear the contractions. IT IS REALLY HELPING!!!

Thanks, I was checked friday nite, We went into labor and delivery because i had severe lower back contractions and couldnt walk. I was 1cm and 50% effaced and her head was right there. Im sure they will check me tomorrow again to see if anything has happened. I want her but not sure I want her yet lol!!! Hope things with you are well.

Nope they just told me to go home after the appt. I though for sure I would be having her soon at 4cm! But they said some women walk around at 4cm for weeks and its fine. Grrr. Haha. Hopefully you have better luck. You're so close! :)

Haha I read your comment about all the contractions u are having and how you're gonna spend a day of nipple-stimulating lol. I keep having really painfull CX too and I swear I'm going in the next day, but that has been everyday for the last two weeks or so! I wonder if having had a couple of kids already causes them to feel so much worse, b/c I never had them so bad for so long with my others...? Anyways, good luck, I'm in the same boat ;)

Sounds like your cervix is ready, you just need contractions! Try nipple stimulation to get some strong contractions started. Google "nipple stimulation for natural labor induction" and you'll find instructions on how to do it correctly. Orgasms can also do the trick, and you don't HAVE TO HAVE your man available for that. Just a few ideas! GOOD LUCK!

Oh honey! I am so sorry that you are having a tough time! I can't believe that you are that dilated and effaced and still waiting. I know it's so hard to labor at home and have the contractions just go on and on! I hope that you have your baby in your arms SOON! I will be sending you labor dust:)

When I was pregnant with my first and I was that far along I was in a hospital bed! They had to induce me because I wasn't contracting...Not sure whats up with your doctor...but maybe you should get a second opinion?

I know, I just got excited that 'something's' happening...haha...I guess I'm just anxious. I also did some research and it says that the mucous plug can regenerate itself?! - And it can be days or weeks till labor begins...I have an OB appt. this Wed - last week I was 1 cm dilated only...so we'll see this week if there's any change. :)

I am on the same boat as you! 3 cm and 80%, but only since thursday! I hope I have this baby soon. Have you been getting any other signs? i've been having period like cramps for the past 5 days, and sometimes it shoots down to my inner thighs. but nothing consistent enough to time. the mucus plug is stringy snot like, as what you described. I've lost mine but not all at once. Sometimes when you urinate and look in the toilet there will be clumps of discharge, this is the plug. I think it ranges from white, yellowish. mine is more yellowish. Hope this helps.

i haven't even had contractions, he said i was thinning but no dialation..i go again today for a fluid/fetal movement chk so we'll see what happens... he said i will be induced and not make it to june 2.. just don't know when... i read it hurts worse to be induced because your body doesn't i guess naturally dialate? idk...either way its gna hurt i know that!!!!!!!!!!!!! it'll be worth it tho :)

I know what you mean about being frustrated! Yesterday morning I started having contractions (for the first time in a while - I get off bedrest and the contractions stop almost completely?!?) They were about five minutes apart but quickly got right on top of each other. We were in church so I couldn't really turn around and keep looking at the clock :) They were really close together but short. They stayed that way for a good 2 1/2 or 3 hours and then slowly fizzled out. Yuck! How many times did they stop labor on me and now my body thinks that is what it is supposed to do!
How "on-time" were your other girls? I keep thinking that I am getting all excited to have this baby in May only to go overdue like my others. :P I hope not! The good news for you is that it sounds like you have done A LOT of your prep work already. My midwives said that the more effaced you are before you actually go into labor the faster your labor should be. Hopefully that is true! Have a good day!
