I am pregnant with my fouth baby. Oddly, this is the first time I have experienced nausea and vomitting during pregnancy. This started at about 5-6 weeks. After two weeks of feeling like I had the stomach flu, I gave in and started taking a medication recommended by my doctor, Diclectin. Diclectin is only available in Canada, as far as I know. It has been around for about 25 years and there are no known side effects on the baby. Unfortunately, it contains a bit of a sedative and so on top of being tired in your first trimester, this makes you even MORE tired. I started off taking four pills a day and now at 18 weeks, I'm down to 1/day. On top of this, I am a bowel disease survivor. I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease before I got pregnant for my first child. When my baby was 9 months old, I got very sick and had to have surgery. My entire large intestine (colon) was removed and I was given an ileostomy. 1 year after this, I was strong and healthy and got pregnant for my second baby. This pregnancy was monitored very carefully, as I had the ileostomy to deal with. I got through this pregnancy with flying colors, except for one attack of pancreatitis. A year after this baby, I had another surgery wherein a Pelvic Pouch was made out of my small intestine and my ileostomy was removed. 2 years after this surgery, I was pregnant again with my third child. A wonderful experience. I was pregnant again when my son was only 1 year old (and still not sleeping through the nights) and unfortunately I miscarried at about 5 weeks. When my son was two years old, I couldnt stop thinking about having a fourth child. Many people thought I was nuts. Finally, my husband and I decided to give it one last shot and in September 2007, on a much deserved 10 year anniversary trip, we conceived our fourth baby. Baby #4 is due June 16, 2008!
You look great
