My name is Brandi and I am happily married to my husband Mike for almost 8 years. We have 2 beautiful daughters that are 6 and 7 and extremely happy to be getting a baby brother. I thought after my girls that we were done having kids but I had the baby fever for the past 3 years and just couldn't shake it. So here we are getting are little prince that I can't wait to dress in blue!!! I have been buying pink, pink, pink for years!! We are all so excited.
Wed., Oct. 31
I had my 20 week ultrasound last night and the baby looks great. His heartbeat was 149 and he weighs 8 oz. The tech had to turn me almost up-side down because he was very low and his head was down which makes it hard to see his heart and other things she needed to measure. He is moving all the time now and I absolutely love the feeling.
Fri., Jan. 4
I am very upset that all but a couple of my messages were deleted a couple of weeks ago. I tried to get them back but had no luck. I look like I am new to the sight but have been here for several months. Anyway, baby is doing good and I am going to the doctor every two weeks now. Only a couple of months to go before my little guy is here. My daughters can not wait to meet their little brother!!!

Saturday, 1 Mar Hi Brandi, Anxiety/Panic disorder run in my family. My grandmother, my mother, my sister, my neice, myself and my 11 year old daughter. It really peaked for me at 18 years old. I tried everything; medication, counseling, heavier workouts, all sorts of stuff. Finally, after all of the suffering I bought the book, 'Hope and Help for Your Nerves' by Dr. Claire Weeks. I'm a very factual/detail/give it to me straight type of person. Reading why it's happening and what is actually happening really helped me to get a handle on it. That's not to say I don't have my moments but after reading that book I really got better at warding the anxiety/panic off. It became easier to blow off the scary feelings and move on. Try the book, maybe it will help you. It can't hurt. I feel for you, it stinks. babykjcsmom -

Saturday, 1 Mar Hi I am from 34 weeks just looking ahead. I wanted to share that I have PTSD and Acute Anxiety disorder. I was on Zoloft before I got pregnant, and the Doc decided that staying on it was safer than trying to bring me off of it. I sometimes worry that it may cause something bad to happen to my baby, but so far I havent found much negative feedback about it. My anxiety has been really bad lately, and I havent been able to take Xanax or anything to help with it. (Obviously not safe for pregnancy.)I just wanted to tell you you are not alone. Good luck and I hope you find something that helps! :) heatherhazel -
Saturday, 1 Mar Hey, I also suffer from anxiety but refused to take anything while preggo. I normally take xanax for mine and i have here recently became quite anxious about the birth and my kids reacting to it, my mother coming in, etc etc. So I have a prescription ready just in case. However I do plan on nursing so of course it is frowned upon to take anything. I have noticed when my anxiety starts I will pick up my book and go lay in the tub and it has helped me through my pregnancy. But there have been times that I thought I would die. But managed. I wish you luck. We are almost there and I am soooo ready. Happy Baby Day soon. moynababy -
Saturday, 1 Mar Hey girl! I have anxiety attacks now and then, and I have had them more being preggo. My DR. gave me Vistaril but it gives me such a hangover that I don't take it anymore! I hope your DR. gave you something without these side affects. Hang in there, you are not alone! Wish you luck! babyjayden -
Friday, 29 Feb Hello, I have horrible anxiety. It gets really bad but I have also refused anything while pregnant. I am thinking I will need something after I give birth because it is hard to live day to day being this way. I am also being induced on the 7th but I am hoping I will go before then. Anyway, hang in there only a week or less left for us :) buninoven2 -

Saturday, 23 Feb My doctor found protein in my urine , so he sent me right to the hospital to do blood work and a nonstress test on the baby. They sent me home but asked me to do a 24H urine test, I did that and right after the got the results they asked me to do another one! So I guess my protein must have been high/! My blood pressure isnt high so I am not that worried. and if they wanna induce me I wouldnt mind! lol CRAZYEIGHTS -
Saturday, 23 Feb Hi Brandi,
I always have 'trace' protein in my urine when I'm pregnant. They've never been concerned and have always kind of acted like it's normal. They correlate it to your blood pressure. If your blood pressure is high and there is protein in your urine they start to worry. Something about pre-eclampsia, pregnancy induced hypertension. If your docs not worried than you shouldn't worry either. Take care. collsbaby -
Friday, 22 Feb Hi, I'm glad that was OK! After I wrote it thought to myself, geez, that might have been a bit much. But really I was just going by what I have heard from other moms. So I'm glad it didn't offend you. haha. I have done that on here a lot it seems. I put my foot in my mouth and it ain't pretty, haha. Anyway, thanks for the nice comments and I wish you all the best! ;-) collsbaby -
Thursday, 21 Feb This is my first baby, but I have known other moms to have their kids in the room during labor. Pretty much the consensus from the moms themselves is that the kids are horrified. One was even 15 and she said after the fact that she was totally horrified seeing all of that and wished she didn't (but had to pretend to be 'strong' at the time for mom. Not good in my opinion.) One child who was 8 blamed the baby for a while and didn't want to get close to him because the mom was in such pain during the whole thing and she felt the baby did it to her on purpose, and then couldn't understand why the mom wasn't mad at him too. I think it's hard for them to see their mom in such pain because they aren't old enough to make the connection (even if you tell them) that it's not a 'bad' pain that will last forever, it's a pain that only lasts until the baby comes and that you choose the pain (of labor) by wanting to have a baby and that the baby isn't 'doing' this to you on purpose. It sounded really complicated when I spoke to the moms who had personal experience with it. They all said that they kinda wished that the kids were in the waiting room with everyone else for those reasons as well as during labor the moms felt like they had to be sure that everything was OK with their kids seeing the things they were seeing as opposed to just being in labor and concentrating on just that. For those reasons, I would absolutely not have any future children (no matter how old) in the room with me while I'm giving birth. Anyway, just my two cents. mayasmom -
Thursday, 21 Feb I think it depends on how you handle pain and how your kids would react to that. My husband had a very hard time watching me in pain and feeling so helpless. My daughter would have been traumatized to see me as I was in labor and delivery. Everyone's different, though. Good luck! littlemisspgt -
Thursday, 21 Feb I think if you think the kids can handle it then let them in. My husband was 7 or 8 when he watched his sister be born and he handled it perfectly. My daughter is 3 1/2 and id never dream of letting her in because thats way too young. If it turns out your girls cant handle it then they can always leave. melcloe -
Thursday, 21 Feb hey there it is a personal choice weather you would want your little girls to be there i asked my little girl if she wanted to be there and she is 6 and she wanted to be but unfortunately she cant be as i am now booked in for a c-sect and she was dissappointed to know she could be there but you could either give them the choice or choose with them give them the option hope this helps and good luck with the last couple of weeks jscottn401 -
