We are excited about our surprise little bundle on the way! We already have five beautiful children 12 1/2 and under; one biological and four adopted. We actually found out we were pregnant on the same day that our 2 yr old's adoption went through (we've been foster parents for seven years). I am finding myself extremely tired this pregnancy, and much more queasy and picky about foods. When you are a mom of five already it is hard to find some time to focus on the miracle growing inside of you. This website is my time for my baby and me.

It would be hard to hide my pregnancy now if I wanted to because my belly is out there. I start back to teaching next week so I will go in to the school tomorrow to tell my boss that I'm pregnant. I didn't know that I was pregnant when I began the transfer process; and I am a bit embarassed to tell a new boss that I'll need some time off during the same time my students will be taking a state writing test. Such is life! We have names picked out- Lucas Patrick if it is a boy, and Alexis Kate if it is a girl. Now the big question- is it Luke or Lexi growing inside of me?

Well, I started back to work today. I had really dreaded it, but it was nice having adult conversation with other teachers. It's amazing how quickly I could get back into the groove. I was hoping that I wouldn't gain weight around my legs this time, but I sure am! I guess it is God's way of getting my five foot self ready to deliver. My doctor appointment went well yesterday; the heart beat was at 150. The doctor is making me wait until September 20th for my ultrasound. I am so ready to know the sex of this baby! I like to know who I am talking to.

This new year means the arrival of our little Alexis Kate very soon! I am so ready now. Over Christmas vacation I developed carpel tunnel just like I did with my last pregnancy. Thankfully I only have a few weeks left. Last time I had it for months. Still, it is hard to function with hands that tingle and/or go numb. I am now over the shock that I'm pregnant, and I am just ready for her to be here. I know that the next few weeks will fly by and I will be holding her. I finally feel ready to have my leave of absence at work; all my lesson plans and such are set for the substitute. It's one less pressure I have about her birth. We also ordered our double stroller and car seat, packed the hospital bags, and have her baby items ready to go for when she arrives.

OK, I have changed my mind. I am not as prepared as I thought I was, or think I should be. Things keep popping in my head that we still need. Oh, well. I know she's set at first at least.
