Michael Brandon was born May 19th via c-section at 7:36 pm. He weighed 6lbs 6oz and measured in at 19.75 inches long.

Birth Story

I went into labor at 9:28 sunday night. I was on my way back from out of town. Contractions were 5 min apart and doc said for me to go to the hospital. I was 37 weeks that day so the baby would be fine. Any who...so i was laboring and at about 7:00 am monday morning i was given pitocin. i did not have bad contractions at all. At 9:45 my doctor came and broke my water. The contractions still werent that bad after my water broke. i ended up getting an epidural when i was 5-6 cm dialated. At around 7:20 the doc said i had to have a c-section because Michael was going into distress. I was about 9 cm when he told me this so it was very dissapointing because i was close to being able to deliver vaginally. It all happened fast so i was just glad to have my son finally and that he was healthy. Well thats it!

Hopefully you deliver during the week or you may end up with a different doctor for your delivery. I think Jenkins only works one weekend a month. Unfortunately though that is how MOST of the doctors in Katy are. They are all in a group and they take turns covering for each other so they get some time off. My dad didn't join a group until just this last year. Before that he was EXHAUSTED!!! Patients aren't usually happy about it, but at least the doctor that is taking care of you is somewhat rested since they aren't worked to death and have had some time off that month. Good luck!

He is new out here in Katy. He's the only one that I haven't met personally! Have you had to see any of the other doctors in his call group? Pappadas, Kabir, or Zimmerman??? If so, what did you think of them?

Wow! I think that makes 4 of us in the Houston/Katy area. Who is your doctor??? My dad delivers at Katy Memorial too, but his primary hospital is St. Cath. I work in his office so I know you aren't one of our patients. Just curious who you go to.

I wish I could deliver in Katy.. but my Dr. only delivers in the med center. Plus, that is where I have been taken care of recently for my previa and early contractions... I don't mind.. my husband works downtown. I just hope I don't bleed again, then it would be an emergency, and that would be bad. I guess I could go to the one here and they could transfer me... :)

I agree bedrest is not fun. I have been on bedrest since Feb. I will be taken off on Wed May 14 when my cerclage is removed. Atleast we are almost done! We have the same due date! Have you done any shopping?

i usually do my own micros but i usually take FOREVER to finish, and being that im pregnant and i get tired easily and pee all the time...i figured gettng somebody else wouldve been much faster and less of a hassle...but if you can do it , go for it. I only paid 85 to get mines done and 70 dollars for the hair...so it was worth it

wow...3cm and 4wks to go...yea your not going to make it!!...lol..yea i jus got back into walking because i finally got my micros in.....i was scared the baby was gonna come b4 i got my hair done, so i chilled out on the walking for a bit. (couldnt go to the hospital looking a mess) We are naming him Breyon Mikhi (Mik-eye) (havent really decided how to spell that yet) Worthy. We were trying to keep the same initials as his daddy "BMW" . What about you?

im good...im soo ready physically and mentally to have this baby. Although we dont have the crib up yet and i dont have any bags packed for the hospital....IM READY!! LOL...I pray that my procrastinating boyfriend puts up the crib 2marrow. My doc said I was 1cm dilated my last appt...i go again on friday, hopefully i'll be around 4cm!!!..lol..(i doubt it tho) Only 3 weeks left...but feel lke he might come next week! :-)
