Aidan-Jude`s birthstory

Aidan Jude was born at 30 weeks..He`s a strong little preemie that really wanted into this world..He`s doing well as of this entry,actually fantastic. I woke up Thursday morning after a fitful night of sleep... Come to find out,I was in labor..The labor lasted all day Thursday...every 5 min,labor pains...I had went tothe hospital at 7am Thursday,thinking they would stop labor..No avail..By 5 pm I was in intense pain and dilating...My ob(who`s fantastic) decided that since I was starting to dilate,the section was the course of action..We have a pretty good neonatal icu here,but at a time..the ob wanted to send me to a more progressivenicu..but after reviewing the most recent ultrasound,the team decided Aidan was over 3lbs and could be handled here..So at 8:28pm..I met our precious little man..He`s two days old..Doing very well..I had to come home today and miss my boy soo much..But I knowhe`s getting thebest care..Anyonewho reads this..Prayers are asked for!! Ill update when I feel betterJust home!

November 23rd..8 days old..Aidan continues to do quite well..THANK GOD!He'sbreathing all on hisown..No oxygen at all.....He'stolerating his feedings (still thru gastric tubefeedings) well..He'sbeing increased every 3 hrs with no residuals..residuals are similar to sptting up...I just miss him TERRIBLY..However,I know while he should be incubating inside me...He's growing and getting stronger in the NICU...Thenurses and staff he has there are PHENOMENAL...We are so greatful for the care they give our son...

Nov 23 Evening..Spent the afternoon with my Aidan..He continues to dowell..Off Iv fluids totally and feedings increasing..THANKGOD!! Miss him still but will rest knowing he's in competent ,good care of the nurses and staff..

Monday, 3 Dec

Monday December 3rd..
Aidan is now 3 weeks old..He continues to gain weight(YAY!!) he is doing very well..We'd like to THANK everyone,sincerely, for their messages and prayers..We will post new pics later today...They found a way to lessen the 'apnea/bradycardia' spells..They are thickening his pumped breast milk with rice cereal..That is preventing the reflux which causes those brady episodes(Aidan's heart rate decreases FAST..but he quickly bounces back..They are scary,but quite common for preemies...We are learning PATIENCE(I thought I learned it when Patrick was deployed to Iraq..LOL),faith and again to take life day by day..

Well..Aidan is now 4lbs 12 oz and we have a homecoming date!! Looks like Friday ishis big day home!! Id like to Thank everyone for allthe prayers and everyones positive comments..He's doing quite well..growing overnite and finally chubby!!
