Check out the website that my husband has designed for us to share the latest updates with our family and friends: www.adt-gbe.com

This is our first baby...And we are waiting until the baby is born to find out what we are having. I think we get so few true surprises in life now a days that it will be worth the wait to meet our little boy or girl.

My husband and I go for the 12 week ultrasound (I will be 11w 5d) tomorrow. I am soo excited. This will be his first time seeing and hearing our baby! I am ready to make it to the 12 week land mark and begin preparing for our little one.

May 14 (18 weeks 5 days): Next Wednesday my husband and I go in for our 20 week ultrasound. I am getting so excited. I am sure this week will go really slowly. We have decided not to find out what we are having. I figure we really don't get many true surprises in life now a days. Plus, by not knowing, we will have something to really look forward to while I am in labor. All I want to hear the tech say is that they baby looks good and everything is normal.

June 20 (24 weeks): Hard to believe that I have less time remaining in this pregnancy then the amount of weeks that I have completed. I am just so ready to hold our little bundle of joy. We start taking prenatal classes next week. Everything is really going well so far. I am one of the lucky ones who has had an uneventful pregnancy so far. I hope it stays that way.

How`s my pregnancy doing?

Im also very very tired again. I forgot to ask my midwife about it when I went in on Wednesday.

I really want to start just cause with my daughter we had my shower 2 months early and it was a good thing! She came 5 weeks early so it was nice that I had everything except my mother-in-law had to buy some premie clothes just so I could take her home in something pretty! Everything has changed too in 7 years so I have no clue on what to register for!

cranberry juice yet - but most cranberry juice sold in stores is cranberry "cocktail" which means loads of sugar and other sweet juices with only a minimum of cranberry. try to find the pure stuff, and just add a little to your glasses of ice water all day long. water with fresh squeezed lemon is good too. and i too am prone to UTI's at the best of times, so I"ve been taking pure cranberry powder capsules 3xday at the urging of my midwife and have since been fine. they're available in good quality at health food stores, if you don't have any around you maybe a pharmacy would have.
and the other stuff too - pee whenever you have to, don't hold, before and after sex, don't let yourself get dehydrated, stay dry down there (e.g. no wet bathing suits for too long) etc.
good luck, we're more than half way there!

My sister had UTI all the time during all 3 of her pregnancies and she was told to drink plenty of cranberry juice as its supposed to prevent and clean up UTI's
hope this helps oh before i go she was also told not to hold on to her wee as this can cause infections!

i looked this up for u its supposed to prevent UTI!

* Drink 6-8 glasses of water each day and unsweetened cranberry juice regularly.
* Eliminate refined foods, fruit juices, caffeine, alcohol, and sugar.
* Take Vitamin C (250 to 500 mg), Beta-carotene (25,000 to 50,000 IU per day) and Zinc (30-50 mg per day) to help fight infection.
* Develop a habit of urinating as soon as the need is felt and empty your bladder completely when you urinate.
* Urinate before and after intercourse.
* Avoid intercourse while you are being treated for an UTI.
* After urinating, blot dry (do not rub), and keep your genital area clean. Make sure you wipe from the front toward the back.
* Avoid using strong soaps, douches, antiseptic creams, feminine hygiene sprays, and powders.
* Change underwear and pantyhose every day.
* Avoid wearing tight-fitting pants.
* Wear all cotton or cotton-crotch underwear and pantyhose.
* Don't soak in the bathtub longer than 30 minutes or more than twice a day.

Well I've been having UTI's my entire life but since I've been pregnant I've had 4 :[ they suck so bad! haha, all the advice I can give you is NO SEX while you have an infection, lots of cranberry juice, and sometimes you just get them no matter what you do...like ME! haha, my Doc eventually had to put me on a prescription for the duration of my pregnancy that i take 3x a day! but prevent prevent prevent!

surprsdmomi - Friday, 6 June

FirstTimeMom21 - Friday, 6 June
Hi I have already gained more than 20 lbs! (probably almost 30 by now) My dr was kind of mean to me about it too. But I saw my midwife today and she said that is perfectly norma, especially if you were thin before which I was I mean I weighed 115 and now I am probably 140 something or even 150 but you know what? I don't care anymore becuase I have been eating healthy and also exercising a few times a week and I don't know what more I can do!! My mom gained 55 lbs when she was pregnant with me and my Dr told me that it is totally a genetic thing so there really isn't much I can do about it. But, as long as you are gaining weight by eating healthy foods- don't worry about it!! The weight will come off after and your baby will also be healthy. I think every one is different I mean I have a friend who literally gained 32 or her 35 lb total by her 6th month so maybe that is how I am too- but I'm sure I've made you feel better with my like 30 lb weight gain when you probably have gained a lot less than that! Good luck and DONT STRESS out about your weight! It is ridiculous and Drs shouldn't make you feel bad about gaining weight when you are pregnant! It is supposed to happen :)

Bangel - Thursday, 5 June
I know what you mean about not being able to exercise. My house doesn't have central air, so there is no way I'm going to exercise when its now 90 degrees! I think I've gained 11 lbs so far, but I'm also like 25 lbs overweight. As long as you're not pigging out on junk food, there's not much you can do about it!

kmoiphy - Thursday, 5 June
Dont let the dr. get you upset. I always take what they say and then do my own research as well. Dr.s do not know everything and most dont stay up with the latest research. In you first 20 weeks the average weight gain is 10-15lbs. You are doing great and when you want to. If you want to make you feel better eat a little at a time about 6 times a day. Good luck.

surprsdmomi - Thursday, 5 June
Well try not to let it get you too down, you have to be cheery for your little munchkin. The hormones probably play a big role in how you feel as well. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

janice12 - Thursday, 5 June
I wouldnt worry much about the weight. There is nothign you can do now anyways. You cant diet so relax.. I ve noticed in the past few weeks my appetite has gone into overboard and I gained 4 pounds in the past week. I feel like its hormones or something so if my body tells me to eat then I will. I just hope it doesnt tell me to eat this much for too long :)

kmoiphy - Thursday, 5 June
I wouldnt worry about it. I gained 14lbs in 20 weeks and with my first I gained 67lbs and my dr. never worried. I was really little to start off so he told me I was just catching up and then he never mentioned it again. I hope this helps and good luck

heatmacd - Thursday, 5 June
Hello,
try not to worry about your weight gain too much, I know its hard not too!! My doc tells me not to get too wrapped up in weight gain as he said new studies have shown that the amount of weight gained has no major impact on the health of your baby. As long as your blood pressure is normal and you are eating as healthy as you can, dont beat yourself up over a couple of extra pounds!! Just enjoy your pregnancy!! (Thats what my doc told me last visit as I had gained 8 pounds in that month)

redmum - Thursday, 5 June
Well I don't know how much weight you've gained but I can say that it seems like everyone in the world has opinions on our weight and unless gain and loss are extreme I think that most of them are unwarranted. You need to eat a lot, babies are made of food and nothing else - they need nutrients and vitamins and minerals and calories to be 'built' inside of us. Eat as healthy as you can and treat yourself once in a while too. Surely we'll have lots of time to work it off after carrying, delivering and breastfeeding the lil munchkins!

Hey Ate....
Thanks so much for the words of encoragement :) I wanted to know what was the name of that book you are reading it sound really good

~*courtney*~ - Friday, 30 May
i'm just like you lol. Our babie's room is our workout/storage room and resembles nothing of a baby room. We haven't boughten anything big either. I've boughten little things here and there but we're going to wait til the end of june early july for that. I'm a little worried but my boyfriend who invented procrastination isn't at all. don't worry everything works out in the end. that's what i keep telling myself......lol

JennRunyon524 - Friday, 30 May
We've still not even started our baby girl's nursery or picked a name for her! We've looked at some stuff for the nursery but really not bought much other than clothes! I feel like I need to hurry this along because I want it to be perfect for her when she comes home! so you're not alone :]

babblefishie - Monday, 26 May
I'm going to try and stay strong and resist finding out the sex as well. I'm hoping to book my ultrasound tomorrow.

It'll be like Christmas on delivery date!

KarenVG - Wednesday, 21 May
Hope your ultrasound went well today! My calendar says my u/s is just over a week away but it feels like I gotta wait a year!!!!!! Hope you had a great time looking at your little one!

chambless3 - Thursday, 8 May
How's it going? We have out screening ultrasound this Friday and we can't wait. It has been almost 8 weeks since I saw my baby last. :( Last u/s I just heard the heartbeat. Bt I did rent this he\art rate monitor from stork radio.com and so we can hear the heart beat at home anytime. It is awesome!

Natalies Roti Baby - Saturday, 3 May
I cant wait I really want to know Ive been wondering since the time I found out. I way I see it we are responsible for this person for the next 18 years so there will be many surprises to be had. LOL

hotpotaaaaato - Saturday, 3 May
We are going to wait to find out the sex... unless we accidently see a lil something next week on the ultrasound! My husband desperately wants to know and I don't.... with my first I HAD to know, but now my thinking is, I remember what labor and delivery was like and it was long, and painful... all I wanted was to "GET HER OUT!" So I've told my husband that not knowing before hand would help me to make it through... I hope! :) He seems to understand. But man oh man I keep thinking hmmmmmmm we COULD find out in a few days! tempting.... but no.
