December was the happiest month I can ever remember. Russell and I got pregnant, found out, and shared our very happy news with friends and family right away. I was showered with love and congratulations and was downright giddy most of the time. The nausea and exhaustion were more than I ever expected in the first trimester, but I'm still as happy as ever.

It's a girl! Rose Emiliana Barber is due to arrive on August 28th!

The 2nd trimester was great, although I was tired. I was so nice to see my tummy getting rounder...and I got to feel her move every day. She responded to Russell's voice, my students, and avante garde jazz.

When trimester three came, I got so tired. Some days, I slept 20 hours! I thought that this is why people got sick of being pregnant. That was until I got diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. For the first few days, I was so worried, angry, and confused. I couldn't figure out what to do and how to keep Rose safe. Well, within days, I started feeling better. I changed my diet right away, and after consulting with a nurse and dietician, I started being more active. I got a blood meter, and I haven't had one elevated blood sugar since I've started! Yipee. I'm now feeling better than any other part of my pregnancy...excluding the weirdo pains.

Russell and I just finished the nursery. My favorite part was when we created name art for over her crib! Now, we're just waiting to meet baby Rose and take her home.

Read my blog to the right to find out more.

How`s my pregnancy doing?

yeah the whole "city" i live in is high class and nice they think they are better than everywhere else around us...but i live in what i call the "ghetto" of fairfield...its still not bad, not as bad as cincinnati where i grew up but its the lowest class part of my city....but its jsut my apartment complex that is like that! and its just been over the past 6 months all these people moved in...it wasnt like that when i moved int here it was actually hard for me to get in there...then we got new management and downhill it went!! thats why i cant wait to get out of there!

whatwillitbe - 3.4 hours ago
i cant believe it either!! i dont let his daughter out of my sight except to go to the bathrooma nd istill keep the door open so i can hear her....but they let their kids run aournd untill 11 at night by themselves...there are usually about 8 kids out there at all times from morning til night..except at night hte parents do sit out there sometimes and get drunk..its really pathetic! and i dont see any of the parents working except two of the husbands out of about 5 families...so they must be section 8 or something

I am just so done and it took 6 years for me to want this again. I love love love babies but I really don't do well preg. My poor husband. He is so amazingly patient. I think I'm going to take an iron pill and see how it goes. ugh.

shaunac - 10.1 hours ago

my husbands mother has black hair and all of his aunts and uncles have black hair. its pretty dominant on that side of the family, where as on my i have red my little brother has red my maternal grandmother had red and my paternal grandfather had red, so who knows, i've heard some say red is a dominant gene then i've heard others say black is a dominant gene so there's no telling! I often wish i had some kind of x-ray eyes so i could look at her through my belly, but then again i know it would take a little bit away from delivery day!

Well, mama's...still no word of an offer on our house It's getting down to the wire. If we got an offer today, it's about 30 days to closing and I've got just 4 1/2 weeks until I expect baby to come, so we are running out of time. I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers. I will let you know if we hear anything. Send lots of moving dust our way!

I'm gonna go get ready for a date with my hubby! I gave myself a pedi, now I have pretty fuschia tootsies...too bad my feet are so swollen! Hope you all are feeling good...give those babies some love for me TTYS!!!

lol my dad says my house is like a box of M & M's! my dining room is bright blue and light brown, my kitchen is orange, the guest bedroom is purple, the bathroom is turquoise, our bedroom is dark turquoise...and then the green living room! LOVE color! :)

pjs1071 - 12.1 hours ago
As soon as its done, I'll post it....Its very girly, the colors are a light lavender and a minty-sage green. Its called Sweet as a Daisy by Lambs and Ivy...I think Babies R Us carries it ( I got mine much cheaper online). Hubby is a carpenter, so she has a chair rail, and crown molding at the ceiling....anything for the Princess!!! I saw yours and its so cute and cheerful!!!

whatwillitbe - 13.1 hours ago
i don't usually leave the room lol and not watch her...but i pee ALOT so i have to walk out sometimes, but i always take the dog with me because she loves messing with the dog...the dog loves her but she's bigger than her if she ran into her she would knock her down so i dont take the chance of accidents...but it would be funny to see the dog all painted! we'll just have to do 30 minutes at a time outside lol come in periodically for bathroom breaks and remove all paint before we come in! the only problem with doing it outside is there are about 30 kids in my row of houses in my complex..and they are constantly playing with anything we leave outside even for two seconds...i would have alot of upset parents when their kids come home covered in paint!! but thats what they get for not watching their kids! (seriously they range form 1yr to 6 yrs and play outside all day with no parents its sad!)

jenadamandbaby - 13.5 hours ago
hahaha i feel like my boobs are huge (compared to before) and it just means that I am FINALLY filling out my B cup bras!! lol.

I like loud clothes too! It must be an artsy teacher thing! :) For shirts, i just wear regular clothes also cause the "in style" now is stuff that flows away from the body anyway!

whatwillitbe - 13.5 hours ago
i can jsut see it now..i walk out of the room, come back in and i have a purple and red dog! and little purple and red footprints all over the carpet lol!! i think we still have some drop cloths form when we painted the dining room maybe ill put them down over the carpet jus tin case they wander in the next room..or maybe we can do it outside if its a nice day!!

stmarys04 - 13.5 hours ago
I'm glad that it's not just me then who thinks it's a little to early yet. This is my third and I know all to well that babies never come on time. I certainly don't think my baby is ready to put in an appearance just yet!

jenadamandbaby - 13.7 hours ago
my butt won't stop growing!! it's out of control! in fact, i just got a whole bunch of maternity clothes from a lady i babysit for and i couldn't get half of the pants and skirts over the rear! and these are maternity clothes! aye aye aye! just call me kim kardashian!

whatwillitbe - 14 hours ago
thats a good idea...i'll see if she likes painting next time she's here! last time she had crayons she colored all over my moms backseat and window of the car!! lol funny to me not so much to my mom! i dont think she gets to use those too often..i might come out with different colored walls but thats alright!

pjs1071 - 14.1 hours ago

I will most definitely try Red House! I have not been to Carmel since I was tiny and I cant remember it at all. Im so excited to get out of here but we have to wait 5 weeks:(
PCOS can be painful yes. Really, really unbearable periods or some months no period at all, its a nightmare. Last October I had a period all month and it was not just a light period it got progressively worse every day. At one point I was going to go to the ER! I then had to be put back on the pill to stop the bleeding which felt like a stab in the gut as I was trying to get pregnant. I feel better now hormonally than I have ever felt in my life! If I want to get pregnant again I might have to start up the treatments again but like you Im into natural so if anything I'll go back to acupuncture. Im just so happy to feel so good & have this little girl inside of me! I know you know well how painful it all is. Hormones can just do so much to your emotions! has your endo caused you pain? I like the vino therapy...thats my way of living! Cheese, wine, bread & chocolate & Im a happy woman:)

Enjoy your hypno books!
xo

I will have to try the restaurant in Pacific Grove, what is it called?
I have PCOS & was told it was going to be really hard getting pregnant. I dont ovulate without assistance & the year before getting pregnant I went through hell. Ive been on fertility drugs, had lots of painful, uncomfortable procedures, acupuncture & every crazy restricted diet you could think of. I appreciate it so very much & feel blessed beyond belief!
Doctors thought I had endo as well as my periods were so bad & painful since I was 10 years old and my lining was always really thick. That is a hard one to live with. Fortunately all I have to deal with is PCOS which is enough! Did you get pregnant naturally?

Sarang6802 - 14.9 hours ago
Oh yea my hubby freaked out!! I have a couple bruises on my knees...I made sure I fell on my hands and knees if I didn't catch myself it definitely would have been on my belly...that would not have been good!

How are you feeling?? Hope you are resting up!! lol.

I will keep you updated, hopefully it will be in this weekend!

Oh my that is so gorgeous!! You guys love the same places I do. Mendocino is majestic for an engagement & a lighthouse in Half Moon Bay?! What a perfect, quaint & romantic place to marry. I love patient men who take things slow. Its amazing how life works out, I mean you weren't even looking! It always happens like that. I too couldnt imagine life without Charlie & look back at my old life & thank god I have him & this baby on the way. Why did you think you had a slim chance of getting pregnant? I had lots of trouble as well but we've never discussed our conception stories.
I read your labor & delivery blog. Wow shes preparing to come into the world, that is so exciting. Do you have butterflies in your tummy? Are you studying your hypno books?

Were taking a babymoon (cheesy phrase I know) up the coast to Big Sur, Carmel & Morro bay in early September, I cant wait. You will be a mommy by then:)
