Baby Rose is HERE!

Rose is the most amazing gift I've ever gotten. Russell and I are in love with her and even more in love with each other than ever. She's an amazingly sweet baby and is in perfect health. We couldn't be happier with her.

The following was written during my pregnancy:

December was the happiest month I can ever remember. Russell and I got pregnant, found out, and shared our very happy news with friends and family right away. I was showered with love and congratulations and was downright giddy most of the time. The nausea and exhaustion were more than I ever expected in the first trimester, but I'm still as happy as ever.

It's a girl! Rose Emiliana is due to arrive on August 28th!

The 2nd trimester was great, although I was tired. I was so nice to see my tummy getting rounder...and I got to feel her move every day. She responded to Russell's voice, my students, and avante garde jazz.

When trimester three came, I got so tired. Some days, I slept 20 hours! I thought that this is why people got sick of being pregnant. That was until I got diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. For the first few days, I was so worried, angry, and confused. I couldn't figure out what to do and how to keep Rose safe. Well, within days, I started feeling better. I changed my diet right away, and after consulting with a nurse and dietician, I started being more active. I got a blood meter, and I haven't had one elevated blood sugar since I've started! Yipee. I'm now feeling better than any other part of my pregnancy...excluding the weirdo pains.

Russell and I just finished the nursery. My favorite part was when we created name art for over her crib! Now, we're just waiting to meet baby Rose and take her home.

awww thanks. but now i have a headache and want to sleep. oh how i miss good sleep.

kyrie and mac share a room and always will. less room for secrets and it promotes them having a relationship. ari has a room but sleeps with me.i will probably sleep her with me for another month or so. when she is out of the waking at night stage i may put all 3 together.

yeah buying a home is not in our near future..especially up here in Sac! We have been in this apt for a long time tho and it's getting kinda old:( How long have u been at ur place? I went and looked at the pix...so adorable!
I just came back from a walk with ari. im so tired. i shouldn't have done it. i pushed myself. oh well...no more for a few days. ugh

Thank you! I just love Madelyn so much, I'm like you I just want to stare at her and talk about her all the time!

As she was coming out everyone kept telling me she had a lot of hair, so I was kind of surprised but my husband has a lot and had a lot when he was born so I thought there was a chance. As for the bow the hospital put it in there. I just love it too!

I don't have a lot of clothes that fit her though since she's so tiny! Almost all of what I got at my showers were for 0-3mos and I only had a few newborn things which are still a little bit big on her. My mom went and bought her a preemie outfit and it fits her. I was just so shocked that she was so tiny! I guess I did alright with the GD, we both did!

I havent heard of that band but I will be sure to check them out. Record labels are crap & always drop the good people.

Im going to make lunch now, shower & visit Jess & Alex! Just had a power walk which helped with my energy & my acupuncturist did some work for my allergies. Again its brutally hot here.

I stare all the time. I could sit here all day and stare at her. Madison makes this funny faces after her belly is full. It is the cutest thing. I did not know that either about the Mylicon.

Madison is still gassy. I may change her formula. I need to talk to the doc. She does not spit up but she always has toots. She grunts when she is eating. I am not sure if she just making noise or if it hurts. She keeps eating.

Madison has more hair in the back. I hope she does not loose it or get bald spots.

Thank you. Im having tea & beginning to feel better.
I think her labor was 12-15 hours but it was induced so she had pitocin which makes it much worse. Im not sure when shes coming home. Standard would be tomorrow.
What are you two doing today? Is she still sleeping 5 hours at a time?

Just spoke to Jess! Shes my hero!! No epidural & she said it was manageable:) She only pushed for 15 minutes. Amazing. Im so inspired!

I got a glimpse of whats to come. i was up ALL NIGHT with allergies, finally took a claritin at 5am and what do you know!? I still have allergies! I suffer terribly from them but last night was a joke. Bunny was hacking and puked on the carpet as well & here i am just absolutely wrecked. Poor Charlie he calls me a baby elephant with my nose blowing although I probably dont sound like a baby at all.

I do have lots of those cloth diapers to use as burp cloths. I too hate stinky bodily functions, especially chunky, white puke! I spit up tons when I was a baby so I'll probably get payback.
Off to acupuncture this morning. Hoping he can help with the allergies.
Alex was born last night at 7.15 he's 8lbs!!

oh and nope...no time with Carlos. But my friend did come over last night and I got some adult interaction...thank God. Do you guys live in a house? I honestly would rather have an 800 sq ft HOUSE than this apt. LOL

Thank you so much! You are so sweet! I love the shower gel, gonna have to fit in a shower today to use it! Can't wait to take a bath... The hat and mittens were so cute! I can't wait to watch the DVD... You are so thoughtful, especially to send gifts to someone you barely know! I'd give you a hug if you were closer!

LOL, I have enough stomach for 2 people! I have my 6 week check up next Monday. I'm hoping I'm healed up and good to go for exercise and normal life. I'm dying to do some crunches, anything to get rid of the flab!

I have to go out today, gotta feed Jaeden then book it to get everything ready. I'm going shopping for some clothes, then going out to lunch. That should be fun, but I'm sure I"ll be POOPED. Hopefully I don't get puked on! Yeah, the puke down the boobs is gross... Warm and oozy! I was feeding Jaeden the other day and he peed on me ( I think he was pointed "up" in his diaper), right on my crotch so it looked like I peed MYSELF. You suddenly get that warm sensation... Ewww... That's when I had to go buy another pair of pants!

It's easy to make stock... Just use the bone, some celery, some carrot, a few seasonings, and cook it for a couple hours. It was pretty tasty! I made a soup with garlic, carrots, celery, white beans, and egg noodles. It was good! Made it big pot so it'll be dinner tonight too!

holy cow ur boobs r gonna hurt. o it would b so nice to go on a long date. carlos and i were invited to a banquet on saturday night at a nice hotel in sac on saturday. it's a benefit banquet for the alternatives pregnancy resource center and the guy from the movie bella is going to be there and some congressman and some other important people. My church reserved a table and it's 100 bux a head but my church wants to send us for free cuz of our commitment to life and stuff....such an honor. all that being said...I can't bring ariella and i guess I would have to pump like a mad woman. what do you think? should I go?

funny you mention chores. I cleaned my whole house today while ari took a nap with daddy. i did laundry, dishes, even cleaned my toilets!! LOL. i only have an 1100 sq ft apt...not too much to do. i have to keep it up cuz of the kids making it messy constantly. my mom helped for awhile before and after the baby but im back to it. it's good for me cuz hate disorder in my house. LOLOL

What a doll Rose is...that picture is adorable!!!!! Erin is actually trying to sleep 5-6 hours at night... We are hopefully coming to the end of a rough patch with her...We had to switch her fromula from Good Start with DHA/ARA to plain Good Start, I dont think she was tolerating it, plus she had HORRIBLE gas.. Poor baby, last Sunday was her Baptism, and by the end of the night (when everyone had left), she was screaming uncontrollably...I bought Mylicon drops and give them at every feeding, and she is a much happier girl (so is mommy!!) Erin doesnt go back to the doc until 10/18 for her 2 month checkup and shots...I am guessing she is pushing 9 pounds by now!! She is 7 weeks old today, where does the time go?? At her last appt (1 month checkup) she was 8 lbs 7 oz, 21 inches... I have posted some pics of her from 2 weeks until now...I hope all is well with you...Talk to you soon!!! Patrice

We might head to Santa Cruz, I'm trying not to over plan because I have nooooo idea what it will be like traveling with October. The pumping situation makes things kind of difficult too but I know my friend is going to come up to Fremont while we're there :) I think we'll probably hit up IKEA the last day we are there so that we can load up the truck and head home afterwards...I'm sure we could easily spend half of a day there at least hee hee. We are driving down on Saturday the 8th I think and probably coming back home Wed or Thurs...not sure yet...I should start figuring things out because this month is already flying by.
I did take pics of October eating, serioulsy, we take pics of everything too, everything...how can one resist though, I wish I were as photogenic as little October, ha ha. Tonight she totally fell asleep in her little chair while eating, I'll upload those so you can see!
