Baby Rose is HERE!

Rose is the most amazing gift I've ever gotten. Russell and I are in love with her and even more in love with each other than ever. She's an amazingly sweet baby and is in perfect health. We couldn't be happier with her.

The following was written during my pregnancy:

December was the happiest month I can ever remember. Russell and I got pregnant, found out, and shared our very happy news with friends and family right away. I was showered with love and congratulations and was downright giddy most of the time. The nausea and exhaustion were more than I ever expected in the first trimester, but I'm still as happy as ever.

It's a girl! Rose Emiliana is due to arrive on August 28th!

The 2nd trimester was great, although I was tired. I was so nice to see my tummy getting rounder...and I got to feel her move every day. She responded to Russell's voice, my students, and avante garde jazz.

When trimester three came, I got so tired. Some days, I slept 20 hours! I thought that this is why people got sick of being pregnant. That was until I got diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. For the first few days, I was so worried, angry, and confused. I couldn't figure out what to do and how to keep Rose safe. Well, within days, I started feeling better. I changed my diet right away, and after consulting with a nurse and dietician, I started being more active. I got a blood meter, and I haven't had one elevated blood sugar since I've started! Yipee. I'm now feeling better than any other part of my pregnancy...excluding the weirdo pains.

Russell and I just finished the nursery. My favorite part was when we created name art for over her crib! Now, we're just waiting to meet baby Rose and take her home.

Read my blog to the right to find out more.

How`s my pregnancy doing?

I wish my carseat had the stoller that went with it. I'd be happy with any kind of stroller! I need one with big wheels if I want to use it to take walks, as I live on a gravel road.

I guess we go into a zone when baby cries... Speaking of which, I better go take care of my crying child! Thanks for the recipe! Sounds yummy!

LOL! how nice she's farting and staring at you... I wonder what she's thinking LMAO! Well Cadence was a nightmare last night but I finally got her to sleep at 9:45 after cluster feeding her a few times and since she turned 4 weeks I did not set the alarm to feed her and she didn't wake to eat until 1:45am! I fed her then she woke again at 5:30! and went right back down and it's 8:10 and she's still sleeping! I would still be sleeping but i"m having this terrible pain on my right side - have you found any 'post' baby pains at all. It feels like bad cramping. It's happened once before and passed and I'm hoping it will pass again but it wrecked my sleep! I think I'm ok with Cadence feeding later in the day more if it means she'll go to sleep like that every night! I bet part of it is because she barely napped yesterday, she catnapped for 20-45 min about 3-4 times and that's it. I hope she goes for a better nap today but still sleeps well tonight! Hope you had a good sleep last night!

Kinda like my MIL, she had 2 boys, but brian's SIL is AMAZINGGGGGGGGGG!!! and then she got me, and now Mara but they live in FL. My MIL works at a baby Boutique so its really fun getting things from her too!
My Mom passed away 3 years ago, and my Dad lives 20 min from us, use to be like 10 but we moved in Dec.

O yeah the expression after eating is hilarious! cadence is just sort of smiling and cooing but it's hit and miss. It is a different smile than last week, but it's ONLY in the morning after her morning feed. Today she is killing me... she changed overnight into a nasty baby! she woke every 2.5 hours last night to eat and i was too tired to argue... I just fed her. then today she would barely nap and has been screaming for the last couple of hours... Chris has her now so I can have a break. I'm hoping it's just gas... yesterday was a good day so today I pay LOL! I think it's just too early to be stretching her to 3+hours between feeds. I'll have to feed her a bit more often tomorrow and hopefully that will help. I admit there is a part of me that just wants to feed her formula so I know what she's gettign and when... I guess I could start pumping and bottle feeding but I like the idea of her on the boob not my boob on a machine!

that is so aweseom you have so many people to talk to. I feel like I'm learning from others... but no one can really tell me how to handle her for these first 6 weeks! The books should talk about it! I'm glad i decided to post pone her boot camp one more week cause I don't think she's ready just yeat.... yawn... this is tougher than I thought it would be. I best go relieve chris and give her a cluster feed so hopefully she sleeps a few hours in a row tonight! ttys!

xoo

ps- i think our back & forths are quite hilarious!

Yeah, that and the Coconut! Those were the best...

It's so hard shopping with a little one... I feel all self conscious when he cries. And, trying to find stores with a cart to set the carseat on is hard too! Luckily, I at least got one pair of jeans and 2 shirts!

Jaeden's with Daddy now crying... I think he's just grumpy, not sure about the gas... It's hard being so tired. There are things you are dying to do, but your body just wants sleep. Sometimes I choose between a nap, cleaning the house, or taking a shower. Lately, the nap has lost...

Ok, gotta go check on dinner! Leftover soup... Have a good night, get some good rest!

I got the playdress in the tulip print, wishing now that I'd have gotten that smock dress its so classic & old fashioned.
I think maybe you might be a wee bit of a shopaholic! But hey at least you are getting two grand that you weren't expecting! I think its justified. Did you get all 0-3 months?

You are so right about the baby thing. Im not worried that I wont connect with my own I just expected a more emotional reaction. Maybe if she had a girl it would have gotten to me more...who knows? I'm just going to trust my own instincts & I know I will be a great mother. I have been around babies my whole life but there is nothing like holding your own for the first time.

Im watching the debates but they do frustrate me & make me antsy.

Did you get an okay from your mil to babysit?

starby - Wednesday, 8 October
She makes the funniest faces, she just has me cracking up all the time :) Such a little goofball!

redbelle - Wednesday, 8 October
Yeah, I have come to realize that I'll need her help primarily those first 2-4 weeks for sure. It's just hard to realize that... :)

The doctor yesterday thinks that she's set to be around 7 or 8 lbs but up here they don't do a weight/ fluid check after the 20 week ultrasound. She went off my 20 week weight which she was 3/4 of a lb and I guess she was supposed to be a 1 lb. Maybe she'll come out little...I hope so. I wish they would do another ultrasound though because I'd like an idea. Hehe....I can't wait to see my little one's butt in person. I keep seeing it shimmy on my belly...lol.
Yeah, I think the fleece pj's would be too warm because I wouldn't even wear fleece and they say if you wouldn't wear it then she shouldn't either cause she might get too warm.
Do you think Rose will be tall?

starby - Wednesday, 8 October
I did I did!

samlib - Wednesday, 8 October
that is so sweet of her!!!

samlib - Wednesday, 8 October

redbelle - Wednesday, 8 October
I have my mom here but I'm sooo independant that it's hard for me to want her to help. I know I'll need some when the baby comes but I don't want any..does that make any sense?

Yeah, I was thinking of using the short sleeve onesie's with the fleece velcro swaddler (Halo thingy). I was thinking that would keep her warm and snuggly. I have the gowns but I think she'll squirm out of them like what you are mentioning. I guess I'll have to wait to figure out what works best for her.

That must be really nice that she's still in newborns. I'm so worried that my little one will only wear hers for about a week!
I do have a lot of blankets, birping cloths and bibs. I also have those things (can't remember what they are called) where it protects the bassinet and crib...the protector pads. I'm hoping that should be good.

Does Rose wear the Carter fleece onesies to sleep in? I was thinking they might be too warm...what do you think?

alishaB - Wednesday, 8 October
I'll check out Absorba. Check out Cotton Caboodle, it doesnt look that great online but I absolutely LOVE it, it feels so great & its made really well.
I just ordered gifts for friends on Featherbaby & got BG a dress for $11. I love that place, I cant wait for more sales.

Alex is just perfect, hes so adorable & sweet & teeny & smells so good. Jess is amazing, she looks great like she never even had him, her color is back in her face & she looks rested. Amazing I tell you. I hope my delivery goes as smooth as hers.
I thought when I held him that I'd feel more ready but I didnt, is that bad? It felt natural but I thought Id be more overwhelmed. Im sure when Im holding my own baby I will feel everything.

Watching the debates tonight?

What else did you get from featherbaby? Are you a shopaholic?? ;)

shaunac - Wednesday, 8 October
wow dude you have a nice MIL:) you deserve to be lavished on, tho:) did you ask her about watching rose so you guys can go on ur long date? i hope she said yes.

ari takes many small nappies throughout the day and one really long one that is at least 2-3 hours! she does good at night...3-4 hour stretches and all I do is lay on my side and feed her next to me and fall asleep again. super easy...but im semi awake so not to roll over on her...but it helps her get into a routine and will help me in the long run
as far as eating her routine is to eat whenever the heck she wants. LOL
new pix of ari...im horrible on here. i will try to post some. lol

hollyg - Wednesday, 8 October
That was such a nice package to get! I love the plumeria. I wonder why they quit making the good ones?

I hiked all over the place today! It's hard going anywhere and having to lug a car seat. I got 2 pairs of pants that fit and 2 shirts that fit. It's so depressing trying stuff on, though. Jaeden wore his new hat today! He looks so cute in it, I'll have to take a picture!

Ok, long story... I ran out of hamburger, so I took out a pot roast and cut the meat off of it and put it in the food processor and PRESTO: hamburger! The pot roast had a big bone in it, so that is what i used to make the stock. 2 uses from one hunk of meat!

Hope your day went well and that you got to go swim! I just got home, so I better feed Jaeden. It's been awhile since his last meal! Take care...

redbelle - Wednesday, 8 October
He left 3 weeks ago...and will miss the birth so it's really quite a bummer to be honest but at least I know he'll be here when she's about 2-3 months old for about 2 weeks. He's extremely excited about us having a baby...let alone a girl. He's thrilled of the idea of having a daddy's girl.
I'm doing alright...I have my moments. This is our second deployment and I have to say this one is definately the hardest but I think that has alot to do with me being pregnant and everything that goes along with that (hormones mainly).
I think the bows alone are super duper nice of you and I really appreciate them. Thanks for offering though.
Question for you though...does Rose sleep in one of those sleeping "sac" (not sure what they are called (gowns maybe) things? I ask because I have about 4 of those but I also bought onesies to put her in with the Halo sleep sac gizmo.
What do you find is easiest for Rose?

ams2777 - Tuesday, 7 October
My mom tried dressing me in the girly, lacey dresses but once I could talk I told it they were itchy. I not a lacey kind of girl but not a tomboy. I tried to find girly clothes but all pink of Madison but it was hard to find other colors than pink. I have some outfits I can't wait to see Madison in there are for 0-3 mnts. She is still too small for thoughs. What size is Rose in.

That pic of Rose in the blue bow and little dress on you page is so adorable just makes you want to give lots of kisses. They are so precious. Almost time for Madison to wake.Talk to you later.

shaunac - Tuesday, 7 October
awww thanks. but now i have a headache and want to sleep. oh how i miss good sleep.

kyrie and mac share a room and always will. less room for secrets and it promotes them having a relationship. ari has a room but sleeps with me.i will probably sleep her with me for another month or so. when she is out of the waking at night stage i may put all 3 together.

shaunac - Tuesday, 7 October
yeah buying a home is not in our near future..especially up here in Sac! We have been in this apt for a long time tho and it's getting kinda old:( How long have u been at ur place? I went and looked at the pix...so adorable!
I just came back from a walk with ari. im so tired. i shouldn't have done it. i pushed myself. oh well...no more for a few days. ugh
