My profile
I am an engaged mother of two. I have a 13 year old and a 2 year old. My fiance is super excited we are expecting again. I think it may delay the wedding though. I had a missed miscarriage when I was 18. Had to have a D & C after the baby stopped developing. I started having similar symptoms w/ this pregnancy on the day I got to my 12th week. I have had two Emergency Room visits and blood taken 7 times in two weeks. Last Monday I found out that my hormone levels were steadily dropping. The Dr. turned and looked at me after telling me this and I was balling. He said by the look on your face I can tell you know what that means. He began talking to me about MC, grief processes, support groups. He explained the would sdo an ultrasound to see if the pregnancy is still viable. He said after that I need to think about my decision (as to have a D&C or wait). He said I would not have to decide today but I pretty much was sure by all we had discused that the pregnancy had ended. In the ultrasound room the tech was not speaking and the monitor was away from me. He was just clicking away on his mouse taking still shots. I was trying to raise my head up to see. For a brief second I thought I saw movement so I asked him. Is the baby moving? He just chuckled and said, ya, you saw that hu? The baby was fine. It has a good strong heartbeat. They ended up diagnosing me with an attempted abortion, which is a really grotesque term if you ask me. Why not just call it attempted miscarriage? I am changing Drs. just because the care I was getting was at an Indian Hospital out of town. I don't want to drive 45 minutes every time I have complications just to have to wait two hours to be seen by someone different every time. I will be going to a high risk OB provider for the rest of my pregnancy.
