Hello! I am a 26 year old American living in the UK for the past three and a half years (husband is English) This is our first child and we are super excited if not a bit nervous (ok, Im nervous, hes not really) We will be moving back State side (Annapolis MD) after the birth , will not have been home in two years! Im just trying to take in this whole experience in and try to enjoy it.

In an attempt to keep up with the times Ive moved my weekly installments to blogs

That is a great question - it would seem to me that you would loose your plug before your water breaks... but maybe neither really need to happen?? So many variables!!!

I will try to avoid pacifiers for the same reasons joshswife stated - it can mess with your nursing. I will try not to use any pacifiers until two we got the whole breastfeeding down cold. After two weeks I will likely use them, but I will stop giving her a pacifier at age six months. Everything I read in my books and online indicates that it can turn into a bad habit if you let your baby use pacifiers for longer than that. I'll thus probably wean her at that point.

So with binkies, I think they are fine as long as breastfeeding is well established. I work as a post-partum nurse and sometime binkies can mess up breastfeeding by making the baby not open it's mouth wide enough for the breast and hurting the mom. Also you really want your baby just sucking on you in those first days cause that is how you establish your milk supply. After that I don't see any problem although a dentist might disagree. :)

its crazy huh.... i dont know whats wrong with em, such a miserable cow lately, lmao

I think every one who says "you will know" is full of it. When I got my first contractions, I was online in two seconds googling how women described them so I could properly diagnose myself. lol. TO me they feel more like bad gas pain (like when you have food poisoning) but last night I had a few and it was more like the ligament pain you get, just in my lower abdomen and my back...nowhere near the top...any pain that feels like it comes on in waves (ligament pain is just kind of sharp and painful for a sec) is probably your body's way of having a contraction....
hope that helps :)

Thank you for the comment! It means a lot that people are actually reading my blogs--I didn't think they would. It also mean a LOTTTTT when people leave me messages understanding that adoption was a good choice. At the beginning many people were telling me that I didn't love my baby and that if I REALLY loved him, we would keep him because that's what would be best for him. I truly know I would be able to support him, but it wouldn't be the perfect choice. There is so much more that his adoptive family can give him than I would be able to right now. This is also good for them in allowing them to have a child and good for us because we aren't truly ready.

Anyway, thank you for the comment again, and congrats on your soon to be family!!! (o:

i think i ignored the paranoia in the 2nd trimester but now that its so close to having her i cant help but feel like something could go wrong. i hate it! and i even get 1 u/s a month, i mean if soemthing was wrong with her youd think they wouldve found it by now right? im nuts.

I know how you feel. I really don't talk to anyone about my feelings but sometimes I feel everything is going too good and I can't believe that it is happening. I also thought that once I got this far I would be more calmer, but find myself still worrying about things. Sometimes I feel like I don't have faith which I say I do and ask myself "am I being a bad mother". I just keep praying because I know everything is going to be alright even if I don't act like it sometimes. God Bless!!!

Just stopping by to see how you are doing? Is it getting pretty warm there? I see you have cut your pants into jeans so it must be getting toasty, or it could just be us cause it is HOT everywhere we go ;)

Thank you!

Don't worry about dying your hair. I've seen studies that say it is perfectly safe during pregnancy and nothing to worry about. I also remember seeing Gwen Stefani with completely bleached hair the whole time she was pregnant. I don't bleach my hair but I do dye it and have done so through the whole pregnancy without worrying.
Cheers

LOL, night of beauty. I love that!! I can't wait to go get my hair done. Chris says absolutely NOT, so I'll wait I suppose... My sister will come do it in the hospital as soon as the baby comes out! LOL. I am WAY too gray, it's sad.

Thank you. Boys are fun, I love each one of them. And a little girl will be great fun too. Congratulations on your little boy, it looks like you don't have much longer to go, lucky you :) Thanks for dropping by.

Hey. I just read your post about being tall. I'm 6'0 and not sure how I show 'cause some say big and some say small, but I'd say I don't show nearly as much as a smaller woman would. Then again, it all depends on the way the baby is sitting right.

I am happy with the Bassett furniture from Target. They had it on display in my local store and I loved it right from the beginning! Also like it because it had the dresser and the changing table, (which has a drawer)than matched too....Anyway, it went together easily and I just love it! Im totally happy with it :) Hope yours works out too....

i'm 5'10" and I did notice for a long time that I didn't look pregnant just heavy like I ate a few too many brownies.... now baby is getting bigger and its def rounding out but people still don't think I'm as far along. Of course I get the occasional "your belly got huge" remark and I'm like well yeah from what it was its bigger but not huge for over 31 weeks... We'll see what happens in the next 2 months hehehe

june3 - Sunday, 4 May

aprilljosh - Friday, 2 May
Oh man that is kind of creepy. I don't think I like thinking about my bones shifting around... yikes.

RaynbowMami - Friday, 2 May
Girl it was hilarious. Atlanta gives me plenty of things to laugh at.

aprilljosh - Friday, 2 May
Yeah that is how my pubic bone feels too. Did you find anything from the research you did as to why it feels that way?
