A little bit about me....

Hi! My name is Amanda, my husband and I have been married since March 2005, we tried to get pregnant for 8 months and now we finally have our precious baby girl! She was worth the wait! I work as a CAD Tech 45 minutes from home, it's very hard for me to be away from my daughter. If we could afford it I would quit in a heartbeat to be a SAHM, not that I don't like my job, I just like my daughter better! :-) I am happiest when I am at home taking care of my daughter, and my house, taking care of my family. I'm finding I'm more old fashioned than I ever thought I was in that I feel like I should be staying home taking care of my family, I always thought I'd want to go back to work after having kids, but it kills me a little bit each day leaving my daughter. I'm torn between my responsibilities at work, and my desire to be home. My boss has been great, he's very flexible with my hours, he understands how hard it is to be away from your kids, especially when they are so young. My husband and my daughter are my life! They mean everything to me! I have a twin sister who I'm very close to (she's on this site too). Her husband and my husband work together and are best friends... needless to say we spend a LOT of time together! I live in a zoo, I have 5 cats, a dog, a bunny and a beta, I wouldn't have it any other way. I am excited to add to my family, though we are waiting to try for a little bit for personal reasons... hopefully we won't be waiting too long. I think that pretty much sums me up!

Hi Amanda! Sounds like it's been a nice couple weeks for you to be home like that. Was it just because of the holidays? My goodness, I hope you and Kevin can figure some things out eventually so you can stay home. I just can't imagine leaving my babies, so I understand how hard it must be for you.

Sounds like that tooth is going to be a pain, literally. Watch for a huge spike of a fever just before it pops and when her fever breaks, usually just a day or so, then you'll know it's popped through. Nearly all of Bekah's have been that way...but not all, I suppose. Oh, and our Wal-Mart sells these teething tablets. They work WAY better than orajel and seem to sooth Bekah nearly immediately and keep her content for long peroiods of time. I heard the same from a lot of the other moms, so maybe you could give that a try. They dissolve pretty much as soon as you stick them on their tongue.

We're heading home from the hospital sometime this morning, so life will officially begin with two in the house. So exciting! Since Bekah's sick she'll have to keep a small distance until she's got more of the antibiotics in her system. So it will be a bit harder. But she's soooo interested to know what makes all those silly noises! LOL! She's been in the nursery at church for more than half her life, so she's used to other babies. But most people don't leave their newborns, so they're all more like 4-5 months or older.

Well anyhow, I need to hop in the shower and get ready to be discharged. Hope you're having a great day! xoxoxox Amanda

Hi! Thanks for the congrats! It's so exciting to finally be able to share Noah with the rest of the world...and to have my body back to myself again, too! LOL! Bekah's actually sick with RSV and a nasty ear infection so she's not able to get very close to Noah yet. It's such stinky timing. But you should see her face when she hears him cry! She looks at him and then at us and then back at him! Hahaha! It's going to be interesting! How are you and Bekah doing?

hi
thanks for all the info you posted on the 8month page about vomiting. Very interesting. My LO isn't sick, but it's good to know for the future. thanks

thank you i'll try that!

Well, I hope you had a nice New Years day! Do you have to work Friday?? I do.. I'm not really looking forward to it.. all I really have to do is filing and printing out job costs. I might have invoicing in the afternoon, but that's only if they actually ship anything tomorrow. It'll be a slow and boring day! Not really looking forward to it! And on top of it all, I have to be there at 7:30.. Yuck. Anyways, I'm off to bed, so I'll talk to ya later!
Kisses to Bekah! I love you!

Oh yes, it's the most frutrating thing. Not to mention I feel silly every time I'm dismissed...because everyone and their mother thinks I'm going to end up with a baby! Well when I went in yesterday I didn't even tell anyone other than the people watching Bekah! LOL! Just didn't want to be bothered disappointing people AGAIN. I mean, it's disappointing enough for Kevin and I!

Rebekahs-mama - Friday, 2 January
Oh yes, I completely agree about God's plan. I'm just going to keep chilling here! LOL! Thank God I don't have the discomfort you did with the PUPPS. It would be soooo much worse. And my cold has only gotten worse...as has Bekah's. So I think we're going to just have to ride out the next few days and hope Noah doesn't come now...which is so funny because I was feeling the complete opposite just yesterday!

Oh, and you know what's awful about having a different doc in the hospital? Having to deal with a male doc when you're not used to one and you don't prefer one. The doc I had yesterday had to check my cervix, too. Ahhhh!!!! It was horrible. Not that he hurt me or did anything wierd...but the only man I want down below is my hubby, if you get my drift!

Rebekahs-mama - Thursday, 1 January
Hi! I think it's the hospital's policy but I'm not really sure. My doc hasn't been on when I've been in the hospital so I'm not sure. I wouldn't feel comfortable asking any of the other docs but I'm planning to talk to my doc about it at my next appointment...which isn't until next Thursday. I know she already said something about waiting until week 39 so I'm hoping she's cool with exactly 39 weeks! LOL! That would be less than two weeks away. I told Kevin that if I just had a date I'd already feel better. I just HATE the unknown, ya know? Well, and it's actually good that Noah didn't come now because Bekah and I both have nasty colds. Wouldn't want to give the baby RSV. Well thanks for your prayers, They're greatly appreciated. I'll keep you updated!

Still just plugging away. I haven't a clue how to know when labor is real and will probably end up giving birth in my home because I just refuse to go back to the hospital. I had another 12 hour round of what ended up being braxton hicks. Completely steady at 1-2 minutes apart, getting more painful by the hour but doing nothing to change my cervix. Thought maybe the third trip to L&D would be the charm but no...was sent home with sleeping pills. The hospital still refuses to help labor along even though I'm now considered full term. I don't mind waiting longer for Noah to come but I'm not a happy camper at the moment.

Well...sounds like maybe you should wait a bit longer?? Especially if you're still breastfeeding Bekah. I'm hoping to continue to feed Karson until he's reached 12 months.
How was your first Christmas with your darlin'? We had the BEST time! It was the BEST Christmas EVER! Karson quickly learned to rip the bows off the packages, so everyone brought their packages to him. It was a total blast. He's the first baby on both sides, so we're all loving every minute of him! Just tonight he got up on all fours. He started rocking and scooting backwards. It's fun to watch his mind try to work all of that out.
I had to work today and I work all weekend. Pooh! I do get most of next week off though. That will be nice :)

Hey! Like I said earlier, I totally understand that struggle that goes through your mind. And I also agree with you about doing things the second time. I didn't anticipate the pregnancy nearly as much this time. In fact I dreaded the third trimester because I knew it was going to exhaust me...just like it has! I just wanted another baby. And it's fun knowing what to expect this time around! I just hope it's not as shocking as I'm thinking it might be with the transition to caring for a boy! LOL! Noah's staying put for now, btw. I'm actually completely ready for him to be here and am growing very impatient at this point. It's so annoying being this far dilated and effaced and just sitting here in anticipation. I just wish it would happen already!!!!

hi there,
thanks for visiting our page.
they didn't say the uterus stopped contracting, they said it was just so big as there was 13lbs of baby plus 2 placentas and fluid. They said it just was too floppy and big it couldn't clamp down on its self.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

sneezy - Wednesday, 24 December
Wow! 5 cats and a dog?!? You're one busy lady! Sounds like your house was already "proofed" for the animals. We have two dogs, so I understand some of your issues. They're older now (sheltie is 17, golden is almost 10), so they stay out of trouble for the most part, but our Golden was very curious until she was about 3. Our house isn't set up very well for baby gates, so we'll have to get a bit creative, I think. I'll keep you posted. Hey! Speaking of baby proofing, my friend coincidentially sent me the following info yesterday: "Check out these sites.

http://www.safebeginnings.com/WebComponents/Catalog/Public/showproduct.asp?id=182&cat=Childproofing

These were some of the products that AZ CHILDPROOFERS used at a fraction of the cost."

I haven't looked at any of this yet, but maybe it'll be helpful. She runs a preschool out of her house and had to have her house inspected as child friendly.

How's Rebekah today? Merry Christmas!!
