More....

Alex and I found out that we were pregnant June 27, 2007, and the baby is due Feb 26,2008. This news came right in the MIDST of our wedding plans!!!! We've been engaged since November, and plan to keep the wedding date the same even though I'll be pregnant! Our wedding day will be October 6th, and I'll be about 19 weeks pregnant then! Both of our families are very excited! This will be our first child. Our little one currently has 3 cousins! Hayden (3years), Alanna (1 year) and Reese (just born in June!) Hayden and Reese are my older brother's children, and Alanna is Alex's sister's. We're also trying to find our first home, so these past few weeks have been very hectic for us. Wedding, baby, and house hunting all at the same time! Wish us luck! I'll keep you updated.

8/08/07 Well, I decided to give the INTELLIGENDER test a try. The site/box claims that the test is 90% accurate, so now Alex and I are 90% sure that we're having a BOY! This news excites us. If this little baby in me is indeed a boy, we plan to name him after each of our fathers. I have my next doctors appointment next week on the 16th. I was told that we'd do an ultrasound on that day, so I'm definately looking forward to that!!!!!

08/17/07 Alex and I went to our 2nd doctors appointment yesterday. They didn't do the ultrasound like I'd been told, which was upsetting. The doctor said that there was "no need" at this point since we were able to hear the heartbeat. THAT was neat though! I wish he'd let us listen to it a little longer- the second I started to get emotional it was gone. :-( He said it sounded to be "about" 160. He didn't spend much time with us or give us a chance to ask questions. I definately like the doctor I saw last time a LOT more. The OB office that I'm going to is next to the hospital and they want you to see each of the doctors throughout your check-ups since you never know which one will be on call when you deliver! The last few months I get to pick which doctor I see, but not these first few.

08/28/07 So I have a UTI that won't go away. It's driving me nuts! If I manage to drink enough water, I don't really feel the pain. It's usually pretty rough in the mornings after sleeping all night, and sometimes at work. At home though, you'd think that I was a fish-breathing the water! Only 39 days to my wedding! I'm getting so excited, yet so nervous because there's still a lot to do! I had my bridal portraits this past weekend, which I think went well! I just BARELY fit into that dress! We're going to have it altered just before the wedding so that I can breathe comfortably on my wedding day. (We ordered that dress before I knew I was pregnant!) My weight still has not moved in any sort of direction, but my stomach and breasts have definately grown! How that has happened, I'm not sure. hah. My next doctors appointment is Sept 12. I hope one of these days I get to do an ultrasound so that I can see my baby!

10/27/07 So here's the update: I'M MARRIED! The wedding was fabulous, and I'm happy as can be about being Alex's wife! To see some pictures, check them out at www.myspace.com/amandarhys then click on pics! The honeymoon-we went to Gatlinburg TN and stayed in an amazingly beautiful cabin up high in the mountain.... However, I unfortunately spent a large portion on the honeymoon laying on the couch in extreme pain. We called the doc a couple of times and were told that the pain was normal-that the muscles were stretching, and to take some tylenol, it would pass. IT DIDN'T PASS...infact it just got worse and worse-until the day after getting home from the honeymoon-I landed in the ER. I had a urinary tract infection gone BAD. Meaning the UTI had turned also to a bladder infection and a kidney infection. I lost 9 pounds while sick, and since I'd only gained 4 pounds in pregnancy, I now weigh less than I did when I got pregnant, and I'm in my 6th month!!! I stayed in the hospital for FIVE DAYS! While there I also discovered that I was anemic, and that I had gall stones!!! So now I'm on a low fat diet until I have the baby, and then I have to have my gallbladder removed!

Anyway, I had my first ultrasound!!! IT'S A BOY!!!! Everything looks great- he's healthy and currently weighing about 15oz. He shall be named Timothy John.

OH, and I was fired. Yep. Called the office to let them know I was out of the hospital and that I could return to work in a few days-and they fired me. For "missing too many days in a 6 month period." BULLSHIT. The only days I missed were for my wedding which I told them about during my interview in JANUARY, for my doctor appointments, and my hospital stay. Son of a bitch. I'm pissed. I guess I shouldn't have gone to the hospital and should have just let the pain I was in abort my pregnancy. Yeah, that would have been a great idea, don't you think? So now I'm an unemployed uninsured preggo lady. Fabulous. Thanks National Finance.

12/01/07 I absolutely LOVE feeling little TJ move!! It's so neat! Everyone says that after awhile you get used to it, and that eventually you start to wish that they would hold still- but I just can't see that happening! Not to say that it wont happen, but the thought of it just baffles me! I can't believe....only 3 months until he's here! We've got so much cute stuff for him already (thanks Mom, and everyone else!)...and he even has presents under the Christmas tree from his Grandma! Right now I can press on my stomach and feel his foot!!! How cooooool!

12/27/07 We had a great Christmas! Timothy John racked up on presents! Only 2 months left until he's here! It seems so crazy...I look around at all the stuff he got and it makes it all so REAL. The uncomfortable part of the pregnancy is officially here. Knowing that it's just going to continue to get worse is a bit depressing. hah. If I'm on my feet too long it starts to feel like he's going to fall out. Sounds weird I guess, but that's the only way to describe it. He loves to put his foot in my ribs, and I believe he's trying to dig his way out down south. That hurts a good bit!!!! I've gained 5 pounds now. The lack of weight gain concerns me- but it doesn't seem to concern the doctor...so I guess it's ok?? I don't know. I hope my little guy is ok in there.
