Friday Feb 23--- We took a home test today and it is positive!!!!!! I made an OB appt for monday to make sure. We are keeping our fingers crossed on this one. We had to have an emergency c-section for our fist child and we hope to be able to avoid such complications.

Monday Feb 26--- Went to OB today to confirm positive test......YEP its positive!!!!! He did an ultrasound and said that I am 6 weeks along and that puts my due date at Oct. 22! I am soooo excited and so is my 4 yr old daughter and husband. We have such a fun happy family that adding another child seems so exciting and right! Hope this baby likes the beach and is as crazy as us !!!!!!

Monday March 26--- another OB appt today and all is well. We are monitoring my BP very closely to try and avoid the eclampsia problems that we had 4 yrs ago with our daughter Jillian. BP was normal at this visit and we hope that it stays that way.

Friday March 30--- Ok did I tell you we were crazy or what. We decided yesterday that we want to go to disney world. We knew that would be difficult after baby number 2 so we said hey what is wrong with NOW? so yep we are leaving tonight!!! We are going to disney world and we are soooo excited! I am so not my mothers kid! My mom is the planner, she would know exactly when we were going and have an hour by hour itinerary printed out for everyone. That is probably why I am the opposite, the scheduled vacation is no vacation at all for me. I have to be heald to a schedule and routine every day at home so when is florida, anything goes!!!! Oh and we found out that the Magic Kingdom is staying open until 3 a.m. 2 night that we are there!!! I may have to give my husband some red bull!!!!

Wednesday April 4th--- We are HOME!! Oh my goodness, you forget how much being away from home, takes out of you!!! We had a blast. We had a 1 hour character meet and greet with all my daughters favorites and it was amazing! Pregnancy wise I did great. My husband and daughter had trouble keeping up with me. Not sure the baby agreed with the endless hotdogs and hamburgers but we are back on track now. The whole time I just kept thinking about bringing the new baby back when he/ she is Jillian's age. It is going to be a blast!

Friday April 6th--- Today is Daddy's birthday! My husband turns 24 today! He cannot wait to find out what the little one is. I know he wants a boy, but he so soooooo good with his girl that he will do just great with either, I know it! We are going to eat seafood on the river, I know my dr would frown on crawfish(we live in louisiana) as I am supposed to be watching my sodium, I guess a sandwitch and water it is...uhhhh

Monday April 30th--- 15 weeks today and counting. We have our next OB appt on may 3rd and we also have an ultrasound that day too!!!!

Thursday May 3---Well the ultrasound went great it is still early but the US tech said she was 70% sure it was a boy, it was hard to get a good look though because the umbilical cord was between the legs. Hopefully the next US will be more conclusive. Ok now for the bad news, I am now on bed rest. The ugly desease eclampsia is begining to rear its head again in this pregnancy. My BP was 145/90 and my OB was visably concerned. I am allowed to bring and pick up my daughter from school, dancing, and gymnastics and I am allowed 1 walmart trip a week and it is to last no longer than 40 min.......WHAT 40 mins??? He is kidding right? I can't even check out in 40 min......oh well drs orders are drs orders right....i guess I will rev up my online shopping now!!!!

Friday May 18---The big 23 today!!! Yep today is my birthday!!I am feeling good and my day to day is getting easier because today was my daughters last day of school so I will be able to sleep longer in the morning and I don't have to interupt the bedrest to pick her up.Our house is for sale and we are praying to have it sold before the summer is over and certinly before the baby is born.Wish us luck!

So here is the birth story.....

I went in for my scheduled c-section on 10-11-07. They took me back to the OR at about 7:30 a.m. They tried twice to give me an epidural and both didn't take. They then tried twice to give me a spinal block and both were patchy and I could still feel and move everything.....so scary! So then the dr. says "i'm sorry but your husband will not be able to come in, we are going to have to put you under general anastesia." so they gassed me out and 1 hour later I woke up in a recovery room with my husband crying(he's 6 ft 6 in)next to me. they had done a vertical insision that starts at my belly button and goes down about 6 inches. They brought the baby to me right away and we got to stay in the recovery room together .for a few hours until I was "right" again. I came home yesterday 10-13-07 on post op day 2!! It feels so good to be home and on my way to recovery. So here is the low-down I had a BOY his name is John Paul Stephen West he was 7lbs 2 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. He was born at 8:06 a.m. and he's PERFECT!! See for yourself in my photobook!
