It's a boy! Wow nothing like I ever expected birth to be. wed night at 11:30pm I started getting contractions that lasted 5 minutes apart. I went to the hospital but because nothing progressed at all by 8:00am they sent me home with a sleep aid. I wanted to hurt them because all I wanted was an epidural. When I got home I slept about 45 minutes but woke up every 5 min. My water finally broke at 11:30am and contractions were 2 minutes apart. We went back to the hospital. By 1:30pm the nurse said I had progressed from 2cm to 4cm and that she could put in a call for the epidural. The anaesthesiaologist was busy for the next 20 min so she gave me statol. I was so loupy after that. I finally got the epidural but then it didn't work so they had to do it again. (once it started working it was the best thing ever and I went to sleep wiith no pain. Then At about 4:30 the nurse said I progressed to 10cm but to hold off pushing until 5:00pm so the doc could get there. By 4:50 my body was contracting through every contraction I couldn't hold the pushing. I started pushing when the doc walked in at 4:55pm, by 5:14pm Caleb Jonathan was born. (quickest pushing experience for anyone I 've ever known, I was very lucky)

January 29th 6:15pm Tuesday

So today is my due date. I had my 40 week appointment and found out that I'm dialted almost a full 2 cm. At my appointment I had my blood pressure checked 3 times because it was high and then it went down. I was told that they were scheduling a Nonstress test for the baby on Monday morning and an ultrasound. I'm keeping my appointment next tuesday and then if I still don't go by Thursday they will induce me thursday morning at 6am.

January 28th 5:47 am

So I'm starting to understand this insomnia everyone is talking about. until this past weekend I was sleeping all the time. Now I can't even get to bed at night. Yesterday I went to church and at about 11:30am I started to get some hard braxton hicks contractions. They weren't consistent so I didn't think anything of them. Then around 12:00pm They started to be more frequent. I got home and I started to eat lunch and realised after recording them that they were running 6 minutes apart and sometiems 4minutes apart. I called the on call doctor and told him I was last checked on the 22nd for dialation and it was a little over 1 cm and that this was my first child and that thesecontractions were very mild. he told me that unless I'm rating their intensity at a 5 or 6 out of 10 I don't need to go into the hospital (which was a relief because I didn't want to get sent home) bummer though because I wanted to go into labor on the weekend because my husband is home during the day, haven't had any contractions that consistent since last night at 4:30pm so here's hoping again.

January 22nd 4:23pm

So I went to my doctors appointment today and she told me that I'm dialated just a little over 1. I'm 70% effaced and I'm -1. The baby's head is so low right now. I don't know what it all really means in terms of going into labor any time soon but it just means I'm getting closer at least. The doc said she will not induce at all unless I'm 2 weeks overdue considering that this is my first child but she will not let me go overdue any longer than that. She did tell me though if I make it to 40 weeks she usually has an ultrasound done to make sure that the placenta is okay and that the baby is doing fine in terms of growth.

5:30pm

So I think I lost my mucus plus because when I went to the bathroom I had a very clotty discharge. I tried to call the doc office to let them know but the phone line has been so busy... If I had a medical concern how efficient is that? Kinda made me mad considering my doc wants me to call that number first and let them know when I'm going to the hospital.

January 18th 3:32pm

So last night and this afternoon I decided to make a baby quilt after all. It was very hard to figure out what I wanted to do because we don't know if the baby is a boy or girl. I ended up taking my green maternity shirt that no longer fits and cutting that into squares along with (the center) my husbands baby blanket and some other fabric. I think it turned out very cute and I can't wait to use it!.

This is my last night in week 37....2 weeks until my due date. Why can't it come any faster?

So today I woke up at 6:00AM, did the laundry, dusted the woodwork, vacuumed the floors, put away the dishes from the dishwasher, mopped the floors (twice once with bleach and then again with pine sol) then after that I went to the grocery store (got 2 weeks worth of groceries) came home, put those away. Brought the dog to the groomers for a hair cut. Came home and then I was finally feeling the back pain from all the cleaning but I sure got my burst of energy back. This whole pregnancy I've been lethargic and never been able to clean so I had like 8 months worth of cleaning to do. And it's all done. What am I going to do with the rest of my maternity leave?

This is the way we told my parents: I asked my sister if she would like me to go change my nephew (Who's birthday is January 30th, the day after my due date) I took him into his room, shut the door, changed him and then put on a shirt I made. I brought him back out to the living room. He started playing and my dad when he picked my nephew up to cuddle and then put him back on the floor (Still not reading the shirt yet). As he was playing near the window his dad happened to be outside looking in at him. My brother in law then looked at the shirt and started freaking out with thumbs up. Finding out I was pregnant

I was on day 32 since my last period and had been late 3 months before where I would go atleast 40 days without a period since I stopped my birth control. After I decided that I was still late and it was driving me nuts I ran to the nearest Big lots store with 2 dollars in my pocket and bought a test for $1.05 and it came with 2 tests. I took the first test and nothing I left it on the bathroom counter and didn't come back to it for a half hour because I forgot about it. When I came back I noticed 2 faint pink lines. I started to freak out and remembered that the tests say if anything shows up after 10 minutes it's innacurate. So then I took another test and watched it. The faint pink line showed up again. I then waited 5 days to have the test at the doctor and that is when they told me indeed that I was pregnant. I couldn't believe it. It just took me longer for my hcg levels to double. I think it's because I just ovulate later.
