April 8th, 2008: I know he loves me.

We're standing in the aisle for electric razors in Target when I take a moment to tell him that he looks like he fell down a mineshaft. He has a full beard. He huffs at me and when I try to kiss him, he pulls away. I whine quietly until he comes back and immediately nuzzle up into his neck.

He smiles. I can feel it with my head against his cheek. "You love me," he whispers, very quietly and tenderly against my hair.

"I love you," I confirm. And he wraps his hand tighter around my waist and pulls me close so he can feel the baby between us, rubbing her gently with his free hand and my aching hips with the other.

I wake up early in the morning some time later when he rolls over to slide his arm around me from behind. He lays his forearm across my ribs and lays his palm on my belly. Drowsy and sleep drunk, I press my back against his chest to alleviate some of the pressure on my hips and legs. As I shift, the baby starts to kick his arm, trying to get it off of her favorite toys: my ribs. I hear him murmur something unintelligible and cup my lower stomach in his hand, as if holding her up. It takes the pressure off of my veins and circulation returns to my legs and pelvis for a blissful moment. With his other hand, he plays with my hair and caresses my neck.

It is a rare, sleepy moment. On any other morning, I would have my arms wrapped around him from behind, holding him close and kissing over his skin. I'm the dominant one in a lot of ways. I hold him more. I kiss and caress him more. I massage his whole body as both a method of relieving the pain he's in and a covert way of molesting his sleek, lean body. I notice how feminine he can be: his facial structure, for instance, is very delicate. He has high, pretty cheekbones and long black eyelashes that brush my skin whenever he nuzzles into me. His lips are large and pouty and, though muscular, his body has a distinct curviness to it that I envy. But he is still masculine, still a man. Even if he possesses the finest hips and ass I've ever seen.

As he starts to wake a few hours later, I roll over to face him and he instinctively nuzzles up against my breasts. I feel his eyes flick open a little as though just noticing that my breasts have become far larger and fuller. It's the one thing I can be proud of in this pregnancy concerning my body. It doesn't get mentioned hardly enough.

"Oh," he mutters. "A pillow." And then he buries his face in my skin and dozes off again as I massage his scalp.

I know he loves me.

Look at that precious little fist. I'm in love with those hands.

Pouty face. She was getting real fussy by the end.

I really, really love this one.

Thumb in her mouth.

Sucking on her lower lip just like I do. Well, daddy does it too.

She has a cute little smile.

So sleepy in there!

Okay, who's she looking like now? Still daddy? Me? Or both?

Hi there,
Congrats on your pregnancy! :)
I saw your comments on the the "Working From Home" Forum from a few days ago and was wondering if you have had any luck finding legitimate work from home?
Thanks! :)

Steffy-cant-wait-for-June!!! - Monday, 21 April
hey! how are you doing these days??

nancy26 - Saturday, 19 April
How exciting! Congratulations! Will this be a once-off, or with successful publication, something you'd like to make a career of?

MommyJewels - Saturday, 19 April
Well what a pain in the butt.

I'd get a note from your doctor that says that you are pregnant, hot and hungry lol.

Didn't you say Florida? Goodness. Well, I would just brush them off as much as you can. Take care of yourself and your precious baby and not worry about them.

I can't see how eating could "offend" someone lol. WOW.

Yes...just keep counting down the days and weeks!!!

Good luck looking for a place:) That is very exciting:)

MommyJewels - Saturday, 19 April
OK. I was just looking back to week 33. What kind of company do you work for?

I used to be a corporate HR. They can suggest that you get there 5 minutes ready to clock in...I used that lingo for people who were tardy. But...telling you to be there 10 minutes to be ready to answer phones but not clock in. Um...I would have told them..."Ok, how about I get here ten minutes early and you PAY me like you are supposed to." Whether they like it or not they actually have to pay you to "get ready" to answer the phone. I can't believe that it is even an issue. I'm not what what they want you guys to do to "get ready,"

My second rant. They hired you with your tats. They can't just decide that they don't like them all of a sudden. Unless, they send some memo out to EVERYONE that works there. It's discrimination if they are just telling you. AGGHHH. I get so annoyed with people trying to tell people do hide their indenities.

So apparently you missed the stupid "diversity class." Maybe your moronic HR should take the class. I personally LOVED it when my employees had tats, piercings, different shoes...heck anything that showed that they weren't like everyone else in the world.

Same thing with the flip flops...they can tell you to wear closed toed shoes...but that means everyone in your building needs to wear closed toed shoes. If your lovely HR is wearing cute fancy shoes but her toes are showing she can't wear those.

BLAH. Sorry...pregnancy hormones out of control on this end...mixed with a little sanity issue from all the bed rest lol.

I just get SO worked up when I hear of people being treated that way at work.

If you can....leave that job ASAP.

you've got a great gift for writing honey - I can feel the warmth in your April 8 entry. Keep it up, it's a gift best practiced and shared with the world :)

toni24 - Friday, 18 April
hey. i love the tatts. i was thinking of getting one in the same place as yours but i was wondering how it was holding up during your pregnancy.....

Martina26 - Friday, 18 April
That is hilarious...NASAR lol. Yeah everyone will want to buy you clothes at the shower, plus newborns dont really wear a lot of clothes in the begining so i hope they were a few sizes up that he bought--otherwise mammas gottasave the receipts lol. shoot he shouldve bought the big money items first i.e. stroller/carseat combo/ play yard or crib. then the fun stuff after the shower--unless ur fam r buying those items, we were really shocked by how many family members bought things--sent cash so we could actually--same ppl that bought crazy things like antique silver bread forks for our wedding lol--can never have too many of those eh??? there really are only a few things left for us to get but it still adds up!!!

a membrane sweep can be done during a vagi/cervix check around week37 on in order to "get things moving" im not sure if they actually remove mucus plug or just loosin it up...feels like a lot of pressure but my ob rocks a man is soo much more gentle than most female obgyns imho ;) i iced down my back--not hot pack n it worked like a charm, i guess it really was inflammed. i actually go to crack my back too. it felt sooo good, no tossing n turning for me last night ;)

MilMom2Be - Friday, 18 April
Officially way too jealous of you right now... I am from Tampa, but am living in England right now for work~ And it is FREEZING here! Almost May and cold n gray n rainy.... So Just wanted to drop you a line and say, enjoy the sunshine! Love your tat btw, how many sittings?

Martina26 - Friday, 18 April
also i hope u bought big money items and not a ton of cute clothes lol, i too have a more neutral/earth tone taste. if i had a girl, i wouldnt be buying up the pink stuff, they dont even give u a choice newborn wise for boy clothes its alllll blue, but the baby gear we got has tan, gray, green, n orange very rustic n earthy. hubby wants to put a pearl jam sticker on the stroller b/c of their song "even flow" n thats what brand it is--ummm NO WAY BABE lol...

Martina26 - Friday, 18 April
girl me n my hubby bout killed each other too--fortunately we honestly rarely fight/argue but he is also sooo soooo sleep deprived at work n they had drama at his lab so we met up at the ob and he snapped on me n twice said he should just leave--he has never said ugly words like that too me i just walked away n then he got it together lol. he even took me, n my bff, n her bro out to lunch which was unexpected since i wasnt even really hungry ;) not to mention my ob actually ordered us to have sex b/c the sperm instigates labor--he is happy about that lol--not til Sunday though or Wednesday. i hope i get to see baby mama next week though lol--it looks hilarious.

My BACK IS KILLING ME!!!!! ive really only had minor aches n pains thus far n im not a whiner about pain b/c life n love all has some pain or else their'd be no joy, but this back pain has gotten soooooo bad these past ten days i had severe bh all last night, i really though oooh this might be it. ill more than likely be induced though in two Mondays, he swept my membranes but i doubt that will do ne thing lol... we'll have "our day" sometime this wknd--ill keep u posted. oh yeah while, im soo ready to have this 1 my 1st has standz testing next mon-wed so id like to wait til afterwards so he can focus--he has adhd, other than that were groovy, hope u r 2...i want a chunky baby too i was one and always wanted my lil chunky monkey to kiss all on, but alas my boy has always been long/tall n thin. 8lbs and 21.5 in at birth but still only his face was fat, so we called him fat face for the first year then poonk still cause he looked like pooh in those hats w/ ears lol. i dont know what this ones nickname will be im getting so curious n excited about his temperment n looks...

Martina26 - Friday, 18 April
girl i was tripping, i meant BRU were out of my tub last week...Still waiting til this weekend to get the wing n tub, id hate to get a swing that he hated. Did the two of u have ur date day yet??? I saw ur new pics and she looks just like her daddy but FYI as God's little joke all babies do in the begining for a few months anyway. we get all the joys of pregnancy then they come out looking like daddy funny!!!!

kara8385 - Thursday, 17 April
I AM NOT FROM FLORIDA, BUT I THINK YOU CAN BUY SOME KIND OF VIDEO OR BOOK THAT HAS INFORMATION ON HOW TO TAKE CARE OF A NEWBORN. I WOULD CHECK YOU LOCAL BOOK AND VIDEO STORES. HOPE YOU FIND SOMETHING OR ANOTHER CLASS. GOOD LUCK!!

becka1213 - Thursday, 17 April
hey I just read your comment about looking for a class. There are always books to read, like baby's first year by the american pediatrics people. That one has pictures and everythign. I also know nothing about babies. If you are real desperate, you can make the 3 hr drive to West Boca Raton where my hospital gives classes weekly for baby care. I am not taking them cuz I would have to take them alone since my bf works. But they are offered here and I know babies r us has free breastfeeding classes on every friday! Good luck finding support. Maybe ask your mom or your man's mom. They are the best resources sometimes for baby advice :-). Take care of your little one and yourself!!!

MommyJewels - Thursday, 17 April
Oh thank you:) I'm loving your pictures as well!

denee85 - Thursday, 17 April
Thanks for commenting:)
My hunny told me to "just ignore the doctor, you're doing fine and I love you the way you are"..I was just so upset about it...Thanks

johna - Thursday, 17 April

From everything I have been told you can start pumping a week or so after your milk comes in. Get a routine with your baby going and to SLOWLY build a supply pump after your done nursing your baby. Later on down the road a good time to pump if your little one doesn't wake up in the middle of the night is around 2am, for some reason that is when you have the most milk. Best of luck!
