I am 26 years old and I have been married to my wonderful husband since June 2006. We have been together since we were seniors in high school. We are currently TTC. We do not have children yet, but we do have two nieces (and another one one the way - she's due July 29, but my sister-in-law is due for a c-section on July 11) that we can spoil in the meantime. Hopefully we can have one of our own soon!
...I was on birth control for about 7 years and stopped on 12/16/07. I had my A/F on 12/20/07 and stopped a few days later. I was regular when I was on birth control, but irregular before then.
I didn't get a sign of anything until 70 days after the one on 12-20-07. I am not totally sure it was AF since I had no cramping and it didn't look like AF. I had spotting that was dark brown and occasional dark red. During the middle the was a light flow. I also had clots. It was never red like AF so I am not sure what it was.
April 10: It's been 16 weeks (113 days) since last major AF and 41 days since the spotting/cramping. Been taking BBT for three weeeks and nothing going on there either. Nothing above 97.3 - kind of up and down between 96.3 and 97.3. Going to see the doctor on Monday as I don't think I am even ovulating (according to BBT). Tried OPKs a few times and they were always negative so I am not going to waste anymore money on them. Haven't done HPT in over 3 weeks as I see no point since my temps are low. I guess I'll see what the doctor says on Monday. I hope I don't hear "You're body is still adjusting, give it time." She told me that when I saw her in January. Back then I was only a few weeks from missed AF. This is all very frustrating - pregnant people popping up everywhere, but me!
April 11: (Day 114 or 42) I am going away with my mom to a scrapbook retreat this weekend. I won't be bring the Basal Thermometer as we are staying with a bunch of other people in the same cabin. Don't really want to be waking people up (the beeping of the thermometer wakes my husband up every morning.) This will give me a few days to relax. Of course I am sure there will be at least one pregnant person there as well as many who already have kids. Oh well, at least I'll get some pages done.
April 14: Went to the doctor. She said I wasn't ovulating (duh!). She gave me Prometrium which I have to take for the next five days. Once the bleeding starts I go in on Day 3 of that to get blood work done. After that I head to the fertility specialists to figure out what to do next. I can't get in for an appointment with them until June 27, although they will call me when there are cancelations to get me in earlier. So I guess we'll wait and see how it all goes from here.
April 20: Stopped taking Prometrium on Friday night. It's been less then 48 since then and no sign of a period yet. I am suppose to get blood work done on Day 3. Will I start anytime soon?
April 21: Yeah!!! I finally got AF so I can start back at Day 1. I didn't think I'd ever get excited about getting AF. I go in for blood work on Wednesday. I hope someone calls to cancel with the fertility people soon so I can get in and find out my results. Otherwise I won't know anything until the end of June.
April 23: Today is Day 3 of this cycle. I went in for blood work. I guess they are testing four different things (hormone levels). I had flow for only one day and now I am back to spotting. I hope that's ok since they asked to draw blood on the third day. Not sure if they were expecting me to bleed for a few days. This is one of the shorter AFs I've had. I am not sure if I should call to get results since I don't know what I am looking for or just wait until June when I see someone. I guess we just start BDing once I stop spotting. It's all so frustrating! I am so impatient!
April 27: I called to get my results a few days ago and the nurse told me my hormone levels were considered normal. So if they're normal, then what's wrong with me? Had to reschedule my appointment for July 3 since I couldn't make the June 27 one. I hope someone calls and cancels so I can get in sooner with the infertility people. Until then I hope I at least get one cycle that's not 100+ days long! Like others, I will probably take a break from this site for a while so I can stop dwelling on getting pregnant. I am going a vacation in July with my sister, niece, and parents (hopefully my husband too if he doesn't have to work). So my goal is to try to lose some weight to look better in my swimsuit. My sister already looks great and I am frustrated being heavier than her. I guess I can dwell on that any maybe get pregnant in the meantime!
