Tuesday, 17 June Hey,
Haven't talked to you in awhile. How are things going? marinac -
Monday, 16 June Wow.. so I've been very busy as I'm sure you are so havn't been able to get on! Today is my first day home alone with the 2 of them, and so far everything is going great. I've actually been getting a decent amount of sleep, shes a good sleeper at night, fingers crossed that holds up! My labor happened so fast.. I was was pretty much in shock.. when I got to the hospital, I was only 2 cm, but contractions were 1 minute apart.. then 30 minutes later, I was 9 and a half!!! Then when I was pushing my husband said something about how she had my cheeks, and I was like "THERE IS A FACE THERE ALREADY?!?!?" Hahah. I've been feeling pretty good too, my nipples are sore because I'm having trouble latching her on properly, but as for my stitches, they definatly don't hurt as much as when I had Randy.. I couldn't walk after having him for 2 weeks. How is your family doing? Talk to you soon! Ljay -
Saturday, 14 June Hey you....congratulations on baby Benjamin, I'm so sorry that I havent replied to you sooner, I've been struggling to catch up on everything recently....babies just know how to best ruin your routine LOL. I'm so sorry to hear that you've had such a tough time, what you've been through sounds awful. I really hope your feeling better now. Please let me know how your doing.
Yeah I had my baby boy on 3rd June at 2pm after being induced at 8pm the evening before. I went into labour straight after being induced and suffered really strong severe contractions after my waters broke at 4am. I begged for an epidural as the pain was so severe I couldn't cope. Luckily the epidural completely got rid of the pain and I was able to labour in comfort until 1pm. I then started to push but unfortuantly the baby was face up and stuck at the top of the cervix. He was in distress so they had to perform an emergency C-section. He weighed 10lbs so I'm so glad I didnt actually have to push...his head was HUGE LOL. We named him Finley Ryan Carter and he's such a lovely little boy, but I actually miss being pregnant...I miss the anticipation of labour and feel a bit sad that I didnt get to give birth to him naturally, but I'm still so happy that he's here and OK.
Anyway I'm on Facebook and Myspace if you have an account and would like to stay in touch. If you do just let me know and I'll pass the details over to you.
Take care hun xxx marinac -
Monday, 9 June Holy cow, well I finally had her! 6lbs 14oz. I'll let you know more when I get a minute! Everything went good though, and I'm glad your feeling better! 2ndTimeMom -
Saturday, 7 June Oh wow,
Sounds like you are having a pretty rough time my dear. I am so sorry to hear that. Well I am praying everything will turn out ok with you. You are definately in my prayers. Things are ok here if I do not have the baby by Wednesday I will be induced Thursday morning. Which I do not want to be induced at all so I have been working out and doing everything I can think of to put me into labor but I am pretty sure nothing is working. Keep me posted on your situation! marinac -
Friday, 6 June Oh my goodness... I can't get over everything that you are going through.. that is scary, and I hope that each day you are doing better! As for me... still no baby. I thought for sure the other day she would be coming, I was having contractions 6 minutes apart, and lost my plug, but then the contractions went back to all odd times. I guess maybe shes doing her hair and nails in there or something. Congrats on the little one!!! marinac -
Friday, 30 May Hey, just popping in again to say..... STILL NOTHING GOING ON WITH ME!!! Argh!!! 2ndTimeMom -

Wednesday, 28 May Hey just wanted to pop in to see how everything went for you...I guess by now you'll have already had the baby. Oh I cant wait to see the piccies, I really hope everything went well for you, and your little one is happy and healthy. Let me know how it all went. All the best xxx marinac -
Tuesday, 27 May Happy Baby day!!! cha17ce -
Monday, 26 May Hey Angi! Just to let you know that my baby was born last Thursday (same day I came back from my OB appt!) @ 1:45 a.m via c-section!!! I went into labor that night beginning 8 p.m and just waited it out until my contractions were 5 min. apart and headed to the hospital. Baby turned out to be a healthy 7 lbs. 6 oz. I was really scheduled to have him this Thursday, the 29th...but I guess my baby wanted to "choose" his birthday! hehee...The surgery went well...better than I had imagined. Husband and family have been awesome. I just got back home from the hospital today and recovering well. I wish you a happy and healthy baby!!! Good luck on your delivery tomorrow!!!! =) marinac -
Monday, 26 May Well, I made it through the weekend with no baby, no contractions, or anything else baby wise! I guess my hubby's intuition was wrong this time! You must be getting so excited for Tuesday!! I'm not sure when they are going to check me, I'm calling tomorrow to make an appointment for this week, so hopefully they might check me then, but who knows. The nurse practicioner I have is amazing, but the Dr. really hasn't done too much except for saying "Things look good, see you next week!" Hope you had a good weekend! Ljay -
Saturday, 24 May Hiya Angi, Wow I cant believe that you only have 4 more days to go, I get what you mean at least waiting a couple of days you'll be prepared. I'd freak out if they told me to come in today. No plans for this weekend apart from operation get baby out. I'm pleased that they'll induce if I go over my due date, however I want to avoid an induction at all costs. Basically they will have me admitted to the maternity ward in the early evening where they'll start the induction. They'll then leave me to progress in labour overnight, ON MY OWN (husbands aren't allowed on the ward apart from strict times)and when I'm dialated enough will move me into L&D. Only then will they call my husband for me and allow him to come in. I'm very very scared of that, I'd have thought it better to have me come in early morning to get things started then that way he'll be able to be here. I just dont fancy having to go through it on my own, and also not get any sleep, I'll be exhausted by the time I come to push. Its not really a very nice way to go I think, I mean this baby is as much my husbands as mine, so why they have to stick to stupid rules like that I dont know. Oh well, I have a big birthing ball, which I'm gonna bounce on all weekend to see if that helps....I think the baby is just so comfy tho. So other than planning for Tuesday what are you upto this weekend? Ljay -
Friday, 23 May Hey hun, sorry for the late reply. A stretch and sweep is where they strip the membranes to try and naturally induce labour. At least thats what I think its called LOL. I went in to the hospital today to see my consultant and they said that they'll induce me on 2nd June if hes not here by then as my blood pressure was high yet again. So like you, I now have a date in mind....yay its so exciting. I want to avoid the induction date if possible, but am so happy that I've fianlly been given a cut off date. So have they moved your date for your section forward, or are you still all set for Tuesday? Wow I cnat believe your having contractions. I'm getting a bit worried as I havent felt a single one, I keep having to touch my belly to check that hes still there LOL. Anyway I'll be thinking of you on Tuesday, I hope it goes well for you and your little one. I cnat wait to see the piccies xxx suncrest -
Friday, 23 May I'm still not sure what is going on...I called the labor and delivery and they said to take 1000 mg of tylenol to bring the fever down. If the fever didn't go down then to go on in to the hosp. I took the tylenol and my fever did go down but as soon as it wears off (8 hours) I'm back to a fever. So I called the center where I'm seeing several midwives and they wanted me to come in and be checked. My fever was 101.9 at that point and I was very dehydrated. The midwife checked my urine sample and said that it did look like I have some sort of infection. They put me on an IV ( I felt a lot better) and monitored the baby's heart rate (which was a little high), and uterine activity and I could see that I was having fairly regular but mild contractions on top of all my horrible flu symptoms...Its crazy though at this point I don't want to go into labor, I just want to feel better...the contractions are no big deal compared to how I'm feeling everywhere else. So, that's all they did really, oh the midwife checked me and said I was a "1" but ever since I left there I've been getting little bits of blood/mucous whenever I pee (sorry tmi)
So they checked my temp again 98.7 and told me to go home and keep taking tylenol when my fever goes up....since then it is just a miserable vicious cycle with the tylenol and the fever. I feel like they should have done more. I will call them again tomorrow if nothing has changed. I can't sleep and it's 3:58am.
So how are you feeling?
Thanks for being interested :) marinac -
Friday, 23 May Nope, not cervix, that fundal height or whatever its called. They still havn't done an internal so I have no clue if I've dialated at all or what. Nothing much planned this weekend, our long weekend was this past weekend. Hubby seems to think this weekend is the one where the baby comes. I've been having a little bit of cramping, but nothing serious. Tuesday is going to be here for you before you can blink! Maybe since we have been on the same pregnancy track, Tuesday will be the day for me too! marinac -
Thursday, 22 May Just got back from the doctor, nothing new again really. Said that I have dropped 2 cm, whatever that is supposed to mean.. maybe something is actually going to happen someday soon! How are you doing? cha17ce -
Thursday, 22 May Hi Angis! Thank you for your comment! Well, I just got back from my OB appt. and my Dr. has scheduled a c-section for me next Thursday, 5/29. She said the baby is measuring quite big and will probably be about 9-10 lbs. by the time I deliver next week. So that's that. hehe...I've been preparing myself for it anyway...I'm quite nervous, anxious and excited all at the same time! I imagined a vaginal birth, but I know it's what's best. Turns out that my baby's head is so big it's not even engaging in my pelvic area...Dr. says because I'm petite, it would be difficult for the baby to fit thru my birth canal. I'm feeling good...my belly's HUGE that's for sure, and my only complaint in my pregnancy are these darn stretch marks that make my belly itch like craaazy!!! I just bought some Caladryl lotion today and it works *wonders*! I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner! haha...Lucky you don't have to experience em. hehe...Well, I wish you a safe and smooth delivery next Tuesday! Not long now...Good luck Mama!!! suncrest -
Thursday, 22 May Thank you thank you! I didn't even think to call the hospital - I thought I would have to wait till morning. My instincts tell me I need to do something...last time I checked my temp it was 101.5 now. I'll let you know how it goes. taliyahsmom -
Wednesday, 21 May Thank you!! mine are definatly in the back but its like constant pain its not really coming and going. well at times it seems strong but it doesnt seem like i could time anything. thanks though! marinac -
Wednesday, 21 May Yeah, the appointment is just a regular check up, I wish they would check me or something, but I doubt that will happen. I'm so sore today for some reason, the lower part of my belly is achy. Nothing like cramps or contractions, just sore. I'm amazed at how different of a pregnancy this is. With Randy, every day was just a normal day, but this one always brings something new! I'm kinda scared though, I had such a easy pregnancy and labor with Randy, and he was such a good baby, I'm worried about having a hard labor and a hard baby this time for pay back!!! Whats new with you? Ljay -
Tuesday, 20 May LOL I always have the time at the moment. Oh wow, so whatever happens your defiantly going to have your baby next week, I'm so excited for you, at least you can now prepare and relax a little knowing that you have a date in mind. Yeah I had an ultrasound at 36 weeks and he was already 7.4lbs. They said that although my fundal height is just an estimate, the baby is defiantly getting bigger and bigger and I dread to think what he's going to be weighing at birth. The little trouble maker seems to be too comfy to want out at the moment though. They also told me that hes lying back to back, which will make labour even more painful and difficult...hmmmmm, maybe another reason why they should start to discuss my options you'd think. Well I have an appointment with the consultant on Friday morning, and by then I'll be 38+5 weeks so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll discuss at least something with me, I'm hoping they'll do a stretch and sweep to move things along. I got so excited on Sunday night, when I lost my plug that I couldnt sleep, I was convinced that I was going to go into labour that night, so imagine my disappointment when I eventually woke up feeling just fine LOL. I've lost more and more of it over the past 2 days, and I seriously didnt think there could be so much, think the picture on the forum but 5 times over, its gross. The baby has also moved further down into the pelvis, which is a little strange as apparently most baby's dont FULLY engage until labour starts, all the signs are there, but nothing is happening. I'm planning on having a vaginal birth, but am so worried about all the possible problems due to his size, I mean theres a chance he'll get stuck and they'll have to use forceps and even then I might have to get a C-Section anyway. I'm praying that labour starts soon though. Anyway Good luck for Tuesday, I'll be thinking of you. I'm sure it'll go smoothly for you. xxx marinac -
Tuesday, 20 May Oh wow...that is a BIG baby. I wish I knew how big they estimate mine at, but they don't do that here :( I'm still waiting for something to happen but so far nothing other then the few odd sharp pains. I finally packed up my bag and my sons bag this weekend, so I'm set to go! I didn't get any stretch marks last pregnancy, but the other day I noticed one that popped up. My friend seems to think its just a vein, but since then, I've gotten about 3 more little ones. Poo. Its probably karma, because I ordered myself a bikini the other day from the Victoria's secret sale, and then the next morning it showed up. Go figure. I goto the hospital tomorrow night to pre register, and then on Thursday have another dr. appointment, and other then that, nothing. Hubby is betting that this weekend is the one, but who knows. Only a week more for you! Thats so exciting!!!
