Ljay - Tuesday, 13 May
Hi thanks for the advice. I have an appointment on Friday, so hopefully I will know a bit more then, but unfortuantly here in the UK they dont check your cervix until your actually in L&D. I was admitted to hospital on Friday as I had really high blood pressure and swelling, but it calmed down and they sent me home with strict instructions to rest. Unfortantly the pains aren't consistant and they dont actually hurt, so I think its just my body preparing for the real thing. I did apparently have some strong contractions whilst at the hospital but as I didnt feel them, they said that they were braxton hicks. Its just scared me a little, as I'm carrying a very big baby, and have problems with my blood pressure, however they wont induce me unless it goes back up, so i'm just sitting here hoping that things will start up naturally. Once again thanx for your advice hun.

I'd be having mine on Wednesday too if this was my first pregnancy! I really do love the name Benjamin McCormick, its cute for a baby and little boy, and when he is older it is something that sounds good professionally. A few back up names to Nala, I like Calla, Laila, Lillian.. I seem to be a fan of the letter "L" this pregnancy!!

thanks for your help.

I'm doing well, have such plugged up sinuses though, its driving me nuts! Mothers day was good, did a little shopping, and went out to dinner. I goto the Dr. today for my strep test, and I'm hoping that since shes down there anyways she will check me to see if I have dialeted at all, but I have a feeling if she does check, there won't be anything going on. My husband is pretty much convinced I have the baby this week, or next, but I don't know.. with my son it was almost a suprise, I was having contractions but the Dr. told me it was just braxton hicks, and then when I went to the hospital one night they told me I was 5 CM, so who knows whats its going to be like this time! I'm hoping that I actually know though this time if im in labor or not! I think Nala will probally end up being the name, but I'm still flip flopping on it every 5 minutes of course! Did you guys get any closer to finding anything you like?

marinac - Monday, 12 May
How are you feeling? Did you have a good mothers day?

KrysAndBundleOfBoy - Friday, 9 May
I only wish i had my baby now !! Lol hes a stubborn little one ! i have a doctors appt. monday and he says depending on my cervix we'll set an induction date.i hope it will be in the same week, cause i dont wanna hit 43 weeks lol!

Well for my two cents, I LOVE the name Benjamin.. I think Ben is just such a cute name. It was one on the list when I was having my son. I think the other names we had for boys was Noah, Kai, and Denny (I didn't like Denny).

I hadn't heard that before about Nyla, but I did hear from my friend that it is the name of a dog toy company!!! What are you thinking of for a first name?

marinac - Thursday, 8 May
My sisters names are Keisha and Robin, and my moms is Catherine. I sent out a email yesterday, and actually got some good replies that helped us a little with choosing, so I think we are going to go with Nala Reese. Ask me again in 5 minutes though and I'll probally say I don't have a clue what to name her!! I know what you mean by wanting to LOVE the name. I love my sons name, it suits him and I think its cute, but with Nala.. I love it sometimes, and others I'm just OK with it!

marinac - Wednesday, 7 May
Hey there, I had my son at 37 weeks too, so i should for sure know better as well to have my bags packed. We have 2 names that we like, but we are unsure of for her.. Nala and Nyla. As for middle names, we also have nothing we would like something using the letters of my sisters and my moms name, but thats a little hard to do! Our son was the easy one to name!

Hey, I hope everything went ok for you at your appt today. Mine went ok, Im not allowed to go back to work because since Ive been home my blood pressure has dropped to a good level. They also say Im having a Big baby and have moved my due date to May 27th. Which puts me at 37 weeks YIKES!! She said hopefully nature will let me have this baby before the end of May :) Hope you are doing OK!

I'm due June 5, I've never actually been told that i have a narrow birth canal. I have had problems with other internal exams though, my first pap smear was incredibly uncomfortable and my ob needed to order a smaller speculum and have me come back ...is it something my new ob would have mentioned or do i need to ask? I guess i'm going to ask anyway... my sister had serious difficulties with her first vaginal birth and needed to have a c section...and had 2 c section babies after that..hmmm. thanks for the info, i will keep you updated!

Thanks. I have been measuring a few weeks ahead for a while now. My husband is 6'9 and was almost 10 pounds. So I think we are going to have big babies! good Luck to you as well, and I will keep you in my prayers.

Hey, congrats on your pregnancy! Im glad to hear that everything worked out ok for you. Im going through the same thing my pressure was to high on Thursday so i had all the blood work done and have been told to stay in bed or on the couch too. I go to the hospital tomorrow for NST and to recheck my pressure....hopefully it wil have come down. My doc will make more of a decision on Monday when I see her. GOOD LUCK with your pregnancy :)

katiemom - Friday, 2 May
good, i mean, i'm glad to know there are others that have experienced discomfort during the internal exam...did having a narrow birth canal cause any problems with delivery for you?

maxwellbaby - Thursday, 1 May
