tto - Friday, 10 February Oh yea! I forgot to let you know! He said I need to up the dose of miralax to 2-3 times a day until he gets to the point of going once or twice a day. If we left this go untreated, it could hurt his colon/rectum- you know already, but we're catching it early enough. He said I could do a mini clean out of miralax every 2 hours until he has diarrhea 2-3 times. Also that I should let him use a pull up if that's why he isn't going- that he'll mature to the point of choosing the potty over the pull up eventually. I've also taken him to the chiropractor- so far he's gone twice on Wed and once Thur. So definitely better. I have a check up in a month. Thank you for asking!!
happymama (jen) - Friday, 3 February Thank you. It was a huge shock. Each day seems to get a little easier, though I still have difficult moments (today seems harder, but I think it's because it's been 2 weeks since the delivery). I'm so, so thankful for the midwives, my supportive friends and family, and especially for my daughter who brings a smile to my face even during the most difficult and trying times. I appreciate your prayers! We will start the ttc process as soon as we are able. I'm both excited and terrified.
happymama (jen) - Friday, 3 February I'm not aware of any of those songs here in the states. I feel like the songs are fairly neutral (a little odd, but neutral). I think I would also be irritated if they were clearly so sexist...I'd be the one causing a scene by interchanging the he/she! I completely agree that the tradition female roles are undervalued. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I was one of those people before I had my DD. I really thought it was a full-time vacation. When I was on maternity leave and during my summers off (I work in schools), I've found how difficult being home with a child can be. I could never do it...in my ideal world, I'd work part-time. Maybe someday.
tto - Monday, 30 January I teach second grade- and love it! I have an appt for next week Wed. I'm betting that since I have an appt and we're on miralax every day- he'll be in much better shape by then. But, gosh, I'm tired of this! I should've told you he eats only a handful of foods. He is the pickiest kid in the world. He won't try anything new and hates textures. So he gets nearly no fiber at all. He only eats McDonald Nuggets (which is only once every two weeks or so) and fish sticks. He'll sometimes eat grilled cheese and peanut butter, but mostly he loves rice, mashed potatoes, cocoa puffs, American cheese (real, not processed) and yogurt if it is smooth. That's it. It's so stressful to feed him! Is there a chewable fiber supplement??
tto - Sunday, 29 January Good advice!! No he isn't dry at night- I don't know what's taking him so long. He went again today- boy did it stink!! But he only even tried when I told him I'm going to get the suppository and I had every intention of doing it. At least it was more this time. I don't want to use that as a threat- but that's all that works! At least I know it isn't anything dangerous. Thank you!!
