Hello
Thanks for your message. I had completely accepted the fact that he is small after my doctor said that he is growing and developing well. Last week though, he told me that he is beginning to plateau which at his weight isn't a good sign. If he doesn't grow this week I'll be transfered to a special facilities hospital and may have to deliver the baby early by c-section and he'll spend the last month in an incubator so he can be fed and catch up to other babies his age. I know it's not the end of the world but I'm feeling a little wobbly emotionally (bloody hormones!) ...I send him messages all the time telling him that he can grow now...and I'm eating as much as I can.
Gald to hear you finish up soon on the work front, you must feel ready now? I've been filling my time taking different classes which are offered by the clinic such as yoga, relaxation, exercises in the pool, French classes (!), and of course I still teach quite a bit. We also started to buy things such as a pram (oh my God could they make the choice more confusing??!!) so actually I feel like I have more on than before I stopped working my previous job! It's more enjoyable of course.
Glad to hear that all is well with you and baby. Thanks again for your message and keep in touch. Ellie.

Wow ...you and I are having the same sort of pregnancy syptoms....exactly...my ankles just started their swelling this week...like gross little sausages....trying to figure out the best way to keep them down to a semi normal size....

My doctor just said to me "You have carpal tunnel, that's unfortunate. It should go away a couple weeks after labour" He also prescribed the wrist guards. I am borrowing my colleagues wrist guard right now to see if it helps.....I haven't made my mind up with it...My fingers are always numb but because I am wearing the brace it feels like it is from the brace...so I am constantly adjusting it...but nothing brings back the feeling :(

My commute is torture...only 5 more days to go....and i'm to the point that I usually catch the train that is an hour later....but it makes me feel so much better for the rest of the day....I can wake up early and rush around and power walk to the train anymore....

my girlfriend and I are planning my last trip to the us (before birth) to get the Graco 3 in 1 swing and bouncer. It is AWESOME!! I find that having a swing and a bouncer is important cause you don't want to have to hold baby ALL the time....but speperately they're sooo expensive ($80 for a bouncer and $150+ for a swing) the GRaco 3 in 1 is BOTH the seat comes off and turns into a bouncer and Babies r us int he states is carrying it for $125.00!! crazy eh?? Definitely worth the drive!!

i'm glad to hear you had a great get together with your friends.....who ever knew that baby stuff could be so much fun and soooo exciting eh?!?!?

Have a fabulous weekend!! Talk soon xo

MooMommy - Wednesday, 4 June
I wanted to apologize for coming down on your BF so hard...I'm a man hater right now lol. I have no forgiveness for any man that wrongs a pregnant woman. Not that i'm bitter or unhappy. I just don't have to be nice to them. lol.

How are your hands doing?? My one hand is getting worse and worse!! The fingers are actually completely numb (like someone injected then or soaked them in lidocaine) and I have a pain that goes from the centre of my palm through my wrist to mid forearm. Thank goodness I have a doctors appt tomorrow. I'll let you know if he gives me any exercises and i'll pass them on for you to try.

My weekend went well!! I had a fantastic time at my shower. My friend's did such a good and tasteful job. (ie. no silly shower games or decorations) just cute decorations and the nice food and the cutest cupcake tower. I got a lot of stuff but found it was mostly clothes and I still have a lot of the more practical stuff to buy. Like a bathtub and a bottle sterilizer and a nursing pillow and some bottles etc. BUT he is going to be the best dressed boy in his new Calvin Klein duds....lol

How was your weekend/week? How are you feeling???

caedsmommy - Tuesday, 3 June
Thanks for the welcome.. it's not fun much at all .. I just keep crossing my fingers eventually the dr. s are going to let her go ahead and come

Boopy - Friday, 30 May
Hi there....well she did not have a hearing test...she had her first eye test and that went well for what was to be expected. The report was that her eyes were immature, which they were. The next eye app will be next week...and hopefully they will be mature, with no retina problems. Her eyes will continue to be checked often.

tracylouella - Friday, 30 May
Wel I must admit I too am thankful to be Canadian! Could you imagine giving birth and your little newborn needs surgery and you have to PAY for it? Thats plain fucking stupid! Have you seen the movie Siko?? Even poor countries have medical plans and patients dont need to pay! Stupid America, greedy ass people. Iwould HATE to have to pay to go see a doctor, or get stitches, or heaven forbid need a life saveing stay in the hopital on artificial breathing machines! Yikes!

kesi143 - Thursday, 29 May
Thanks for the info! I haven't thought of that brand.

MooMommy - Tuesday, 27 May
Yes I went to the Outlet malls. It was such a great time and i'm lucky that they're only about an hour and a half away...Now is that lucky?? Or is that dangeruos??? Hrmmm time will tell I suppose!!

OMG Your body is beautiful...You should be proud of it and a million men would be just tickled pink for a chance to look at it...alot of Men LOVE pregnant women...because we are beautiful and embody life....Your BF sucks. I can't believe he would say something like that to you. Give him a slap upside the head from me!!

Wow...that must have been a crazy family day...You must have been sooo exhausted....but thank goodness for all the baby stuff!! I find it funny that you've inlaws think that you apprently conceived this chile through immaculate conception....the seperate bedrooms are hilarious....although that kind of scares me as to the type of people they are...you're right in making you BF tae time off when they're they....they seem like they would be nice but a wee bit controlling....and right after you give birth you have to do what's right for you and baby...just remember that...You may be a new mother but only you know best what's right for you and baby...perfect your smile and nod technique :)

How was your BBQ?? Did your friends do well in the marathon?? It was such gorgeous weather for a party!!

lol I'm lucky...my replacement started in January...she knows I just spend my day on this site...and working on a spreadsheet letting her know all about my clients and candiadtes and their families and their likes and dislikes....I'm almost sad leaving her because she's one of my favourite people here....

well I guess I should get some work done lol!! hope your week is going well...It's tat final countdown now....

PRETTIEST MOM
Once you have been hit, you have to hit 5 pretty Moms.
If you get hit again, You will know you are REALLY pretty!
So hit 15 pretty moms on your friends list to let them know they are
pretty!
Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her
down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop
the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important
and happy.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to
make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the
wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.
Send this to someone who you think is a special Mom.''

Hi, Yeah thats a great help. Thanx

BabyBennett - Thursday, 22 May
Hi - I've just read a ton of articles online about snoring during pregnancy... It seemed like some of them were more "scare" articles than anything, but at the same time even the non-freak out articles all mentioned the same things. It sounds like we really should talk to our doctors about it, as it could be a sign of, or cause problems for, the baby. I DON'T want to scare you, and I take everything I read online with a couple handfuls of salt (he he, not so much a grain), but due to the consistency of what I read, I thought I'd encourage you to research it as well. I see my doctor again on Tuesday, so I'll mention it then. Let me know what you think after you read a few articles. :) I'm thinking about getting the nose strips also - I HATE that every time I wake up my nose is completely plugged up. Yeck!

MooMommy - Tuesday, 20 May
They think the bleeding was actually cause by the Doctor Exam. I guess he was a little too vigorous in his examinations, as it stopped a couple hours after it began and they monitor everything and Cole's doing well.

how was your weekend in Kitchener? Did you get all the furniture you were expecting?? I bet you're happy that the nursery is finally close to coming together and you ahve somewhere to put that bedding you got!! Me - I went CRAZY in the States....I LOVE Carters!! The prices were so good and the clothing is of such good quality!! However I may have went a bit overboard when my item count at the end of it exceeded the 40 mark...but I now feel so much better and way more prepared for Cole to arrive! I can't wait to dress him up in all his new clothes!! (Don't worry I know he's not a dress up doll - but I can't wait to see him in some of the outfits I got!!) The best buy of the weekend though HAS to be my diaper bag. I have been looking all over for a nice one but I find they are either Ugly or WAY too expensive!! (The one I really liked was $170.00!!) Well this is a tote style bag in Chocolate Brown Faux Suede with a plastic lined satiny interior in Teal with little brown and blue and tan polka dots. It has everything including a nice chaging pad and a thinsulated bottle holder and it doesn't even look like a diaper bag!! I got it on sale for $37.50!! Insane I know! I'm so excited about that purchase. Now hopefully I get all the other stuff I need at my shower on June 1st.

Your stroller sounds lovely!! Good on you for wanting the jogging option ;)

No, your position sounds quite interesting. It make me wish I had gone to more schooling. At the tmie I was young and dumb and things just seemed to work out for me career wise. I make good money doing recruiting but it's really not for me. I'm bored most of the time because I don't find it challenging enough. There's also no sense of accomplishment on a daily basis. I can do my job with maybe "trying" 1 week out of the month. Also the fact that I work on partial commission can add to the stress if the month is going badly....

I feel the same about having people visit me at the hospital. It's moer though that i'm going to be all done n. I'm going to want to be holding him and just adjusting and getting to know him...and having to play hostess in that state is not appealing to me at all.....I still ahve to ask about having wireless connection at the hospital though...having my laptop would be nice :)

buddysmom - Friday, 16 May
This is my first baby so maybe I am naive but I am comfortable with the idea of pain. Plus I have been through like 6 surgeries in the last 3-4 years. I just wanted you to not be so scared of epidurals. I have had them in my back (before and during pregnancy) for pain associated with slipped discs and sciatic nerve pain. They put in lidocaine first which really cuts down on the pain. Its not the best hting ever but its not so bad. I have never had any bad side effect either.

MooMommy - Thursday, 15 May
I think in the case of Mother versus Stepmother....tell them to "Suck it up princess". That day is all about you and baby and really you shouldn't have to worry about it one way or the other. If they don't get along it's their loss. Let them both know that they will both be advised of the birth and that it is up to them how they wish to handle it. Then focus on you!!

Oooooh what stroller do you have?? I got the Graco Quattro Travel system - Deco style (you can view it on any Toys R Us website) I love it and the car seat lasts until 30lbs - although am I ever going to get an arm work out carrying it.

I am hoping for all the small stuff for my shower. It's all the little things I find that add up. Although my mother is insisting that after the shower she will take me out and buy me whatever else I need because I keep buying the big things that she was planning on getting and she's complaining that i'm not using the budget she set aside for buying Cole things. I just feel bad putting big financial burdens on anyone when I can swing it you know??

So Cole and I got to spend the day yesterday in labour and delivery. I was having some cramping so I went to the doctors and then I started to bleed. So I was sent to the specialist at the hospital. They monitored us and then gave us the all clear. I saw Cole again in the ultrasound and he's sooooo big!! Over 4 lbs!! Crazy - how the heck is he going to fit out???

What is it that you do for your job??

If we don't speak have a lovely long weekend and a safe drive to my end of the province ;)

MooMommy - Monday, 12 May
LOL well I think it's safe to say that one outfit doesn't constitute as going crazy yet....You're doing well!! Just wait until you bring home the furniture next weekend....I think that just might be the switch that turns you on to shopping for baby BIG time!! I haven't went super crazy yet. I mean I have the nursery furniture and bedding and the mobile and now the wooden letters for his name....a few toys and a soother and about 6-7 little outfits....but no diapers or lotions or anything like that...i'm doing my best to remain reined in until after my shower so i'm not spending unneccesarily!!

I'm so happy to hear your baby is doing well and measuring healthy (I was going to say large.....but do we really wishthat on any woman??!?!) It must be such a huge relief for you!!

not to worry...those 2 people will never replace you!! They will be so happy to have you back after mat leave i'm sure!! It's great to ehar you love you job...i'm still up in the air with what i'm going to do after mat leave. I dont' think i'll be able to afford to work downtown still...with daycare adn then the added cost of go train far adn the fact that my base salary is squat (i make the majority of my money off commissions) I don't think i'll be able to afford to come back. I'm hoping to find myself a nice Account Manager position in the west GTA.

The tulip festical sounds like fun!! And probably gorgeous!! Did everyone enjoy it?? Me I had dinner with a couple of friends on Saturday night and then a family Mother's day dinner yesterday...it was definitely great times....althoguh I really can't wait for next weekend!! I'm headed to the states to do some baby shopping and i'm getting my maternity photos done!! woohoo!!

Good luck with the long weekend traffic!!
