My husband, Steve, and I were married on May 27, 2007, and we are now expecting our first baby in August! This is take two for us. I was pregnant at the beginning of 2007, but miscarried in March. I was 12 weeks along and the ob/gyn couldn't find the heartbeat, so he did a d&c. So this time we're hoping all goes well! We are very excited!

First Dr. visit - 01/03/08:

We had our first Dr. appointment! The nurse practitioner did an internal ultrasound, and we got to see our lil one! I didn't get to hear the heartbeat, but I sure SAW it! He/she was moving around so much for being so tiny. It was exciting to see that everything is ok this time around. Other than that, just a lot of paperwork and labwork. Our next appt. is on the 21st.

Second Dr. visit - 01/21/08:

I had my 2nd appt. on Monday. Little did I know, they were only doing a pap and my poor husband got to experience one first hand lol! He asked the nurse if we could see the baby again, and she said, "You know, you don't get an u/s EVERYTIME you come in here!" She's a funny lady. So my husband said, "Can we at least hear the heartbeat?" The nurse said she would, so when she was finished with the pap she brought out the doppler. She tried for about 5 min to find the heartbeat, but couldn't, which scared us, since that's exactly what happened with the last pregnancy. So she said, "Well Steve, i guess you win ... you DO get to see the baby today lol!" So she did another u/s and everything was perfectly fine, heartbeat and all! She was stimulating her/him so that she/he would move around and kick. What a relief! So even though we had a little scare, at least we got more u/s pictures out of it lol!

Third Dr. visit - 02/18/08:

I met my actual doctor today. He is really nice. We heard the heartbeat for the first time ever! So exciting! We tape recorded it =P But after leaving the appt and not finding out the gender we decided to go to a 4d ultrasound place. $50 well spent! We are 100% without a doubt having a lil girl! The room set-up was really nice. I had my mom, MIL, FIL, and husband there with me. The u/s lasted almost an hour and we got lots of pictures on a cd. Soooo FUN!
