Hi! My baby girl's umbilical cord fell off this afternoon. I got so excited, now I can give her a bath. I think it wasnt coming off because the times i was giving her a sponge bath it was getting a little wet. This past week I have been very careful not to wet it and to keep putting alcohol on it and it worked! Don't worry it will fall off soon.

I heard it can take up to 5 months to completely fade! Mine is still there and tummy is darker then normal too

I still have a line (though it's funny - I didn't have it while pregnant - it showed up afterwards). It's been 21 days. I also have lots of stretch marks. Boo. I assume it'll go away in time. I don't care too much - no one is looking at my stomach anyway. My husband thinks I'm awesome after seeing me give birth, so he doesn't even notice all my new marks.

i had the dark line with my son..my dr told me to exfoliate it with a washcloth and baby oil after my shower..i scrubbed it so hard it broke the skin..haaa. but i did it everyday and it was gone within a month or so..

HI....I had my lil man on March 31st and the dark line hasnt went away yet for me. Also, my stomach is darker than the rest of my body......... I guess from it being stretched out and then shrinking. It will go away sooner or later!

Thanks a lot for your input. I'm so tired of thinking that they might be the real thing every time they happen. I keep psyching myself out and willing myself into labor, but apparently my body doesn't care that i want to get the little boy out NOW! I'm so ready to experience labor and have him that I can hardly stand it. The false labor makes every day go by REALLY slowly. Good luck with your little one and hopefully we'll have them soon!!!

doctors and midwives will sweep your membrane. it depends on your doctor. My membranne was swept twice with my second child. I thought it was somewhat uncomfortable, but others don't mind it at all. I cannot remember if I went into labor right after, which means I probably did not, but went within one week though.

I know how you feel too. One thing i have heard of people doing is cooking a whole bunch of meals and freezing them so that you just have to heat it up after baby is here and not have to worry about cooking and clean up

I know how you feel. I've been done cleaning and setting up for baby for a looooong time. Now, I just sleep a lot and take walks and watch movies. I figure relax now cuz I won't be able to for much longer.

I find that time passes most quickly when I'm with friends or out of the house. I have made lots of lunch and coffee and dinner dates lately to keep me occupied. I've also stopped reading baby books because I was obsessing way too much. Now I'm reading trashy magazines, funny novels, and other non-baby things. I watch movies, I take photos, I organize different things - closets, bookcases, etc. Hope you find something to keep you busy!

I like to make things (or make a mess rather lol) Go to hobby lobby or where ever and get stuff to start a scrap book or something. that way when you are totally busy with her you can have pages already made to put her pis in...just an idea!! Good luck!

They separate the membranes between your cervix and your bag of waters, just loosen them...from past exp. if it's close enough to thime youll go into labor, if not you'll try again in a few days. They won't do it unless your ripening/dilating at least some. (:

heya thanks 4 ur comment, well im due 2day but still no baby ive tried everything caster oil(gross!i was so nearly sick on that stuff) currys and sex nothing has worked it really is true when baby is ready they will come!im so scared of having such a big baby my other daughter was 8lb 8oz so any bigger then that and i think im gonna die! how are you feeling?

I am EXTREMELY nervous about labor...i feel pretty good..having mild cramps here and there..but nothing out of the ordinary!Have you progressed any like (dilation or losing the mucus plug?)
