*UPDATE*

Averie Daniel Demers is finally here!

Born January 7, 2008 at 2:26pm

8lbs 2oz 22 inches long.

She was born by emergency C-section. Me and my sister had went in for a routine appoinment (1:15pm) to have a stress test (her hisband had to work that day) and the nurses tried to pick up the baby's heartrate and it was registering at 210. They first thought maybe it was a mixture between the baby and mother, so they sent my sister over to LD once again.... mind you she's has been there 3 times within a week and a half, so we thought nothing of it. I went to register her and came down to LD .. I was only there for 5 minutes before her doctor said she needed an emergency C-section because they didn't want the baby's heart under that stress anymore, so I called her husband and our mother and told them they had to be there ASAP! Her husband was there in about 20 minutes and his work was about 40 minutes away,lol he flew there! He only had two mintues to change and get in the OR. And within 15 minutes Averie was born 2:26pm! She weighed in at 8lbs 2oz and 22 inches long. However after she was born her heartrate was still 208 so she had to go into the NICU to keep and eye one it. The doctors decided to stimulate the heart with alittle electrical shock, but it's not painful to the baby. After that her heartrate has been perfect. My sister gets to come hom on Friday and the baby might come home the same day or on Saturday. The good thing is Averie is healthy. She is so beautiful! I can't wait to spoil my niece it's going to be so fun!

Hi, My name is Dawn and I am 22 years old. I am new to this site...my sister asked me to join. Her name is Danielle and she has been married to her husband William for 5 years (October 19th). She is 24 weeks pregnant with her first child ( a baby girl named Averie). I am so excited that I am going to be an Auntie for the first time... I am going to spoil her sooo much! :) The begining of my sisters pregnancy was very stressful and tough. At about 16 weeks she was giving a blood test that is usually given to mothers-to-be at that time to test for downs, spina bifida, and T18. Well a week later she got the results back and the baby was elevated for T18 and her doctor suggested she get an amnio. Well when she went for the amnio the needle was not long enough so it could not be done... so she had to go for another one about a week later and thankfully the results came back NORMAL!! Yaaay! All that worrying for nothing. This baby has been a huge blessing for us, you see on July 27th, 2006 our father passed away at the young age of 55. He was our rock and kept everyone going. He wanted a grandchild so badly and my sister and her husband tried very hard to make that happen but our father passed away before it could happen. Me and my family believe our father blessed us with this beautiful child for a reason... to help us cope with his death, you know to make each day easier to live. Now I know he would have given anything to see his grand daughter, but this is what he could do. I hope Averie will arrive soon she is going to be soo spoiled and loved!

My sister went to the doctors today and found out she had an induction for January 14th, but when the doctor examined her she found out she was 3cm dialted! We are sooo excited! So the doctor said she will not make it to her induction date so now we are just waiting to see when Averie decides to come into this world. My sister also has an appointment on thursday, so if she makes it to thursday we will see if she is any further along and go from there. But I hope everyone has a very Happy New year!
