Hi all. I found out at 5weeks that i'm pregnant with our second child. Can't wait to meet them - this time arround i wish to find out the sex at the 20weeks scan. I've already had a scan at 8weeks - due to some early bleeding, but all was good. I'm now into the 11week and i'm over the morning sickness. I never had any textbook pregnancy symptoms with my 1st - so this is all new (so to speak) for me. I find that i'm very tied and often have that sick feeling, and eating good food is happening few and far between at the moment - but i continue on knowing what the end result will be!!
19th Dec 07 - I'm now 17 Weeks. Still feel abit yuk and tied at times but overall feeling great! Looking for to the 20 week scan in mid Jan - can't wait!! on the 14th had OB appointment and had a scare when he couldn't locate the baby's heart beat. Had a scan in his office. everything was fine. Baby is just sitting lower than he thought!!
8th Jan 08 - so now I'm 20 weeks !! and yep still feeling yuk at times. At my last OB appointment I asked him about being tied. His advise was I'm most likely noticing it more this time arround due to me running after #1. Still not 100% if we will find out the sex when I have scan this week - see that happens. I'd still like to find out, Hubby is against it - see what the day brings.
30th Jan - Now 23weeks - Yep I found out the baby's sex - BUT its a secret!!. Hubby left the room and then OB told me. All is going well - still getting tied but I just take it easy. I can't believe how fast time is going by. Have purchased some newborn clothing - as I only had neutral colours when Zachary was born - so Hubby also can't guess as I'm still spending his hard earned cash!!. Next thing is to start the Name Game - we have a first name for a girl but will need a middle name, and we have to start from scratch with a boys name. Next OB appointment is 15th Feb.
30th March - Been a while since I last logged onto site! - few exciting things have happened since then.... At last appointment (29 weeks+) found out that the baby was still sitting in breech position - most have turned about 27weeks - so that put me into about 30% bracket for babies who haven't turned yet Didn't get to spend too much time with the OB - as he had a delivery to attend to but he said by 34weeks if baby hasn't turned - we'll discuss more then.My next appointment is on the 11th april - but just in case I've done some research on breech babies!!. Yesterday was our 5th Wedding Aniversary - and we spent the morning at the hospital! Woke up to blood in my urine - rang the emergency number and they said to come up for a checkup. Baby was monitored and all seemed fine - OB believes that with the cold I've since developed - thanks to my son - that I have an infection - which should clear up in a few days with antibiotics. Fingers crossed!! I still have a bad time of a night - you can bet around 9pm - it all starts - lots of movement and the whole I feel sick thing happening. My left hip is also playing up - but I'm managing it. Have also had continuous swelling - where things shouldn't swell - OB said it was pressure issues and that I should rest alot more - bit hard when I'm working full time - so decided to get out on maternity leave early and I finishing in 2 weeks time. This will give me time to get things sorted at home and to spend some time with Zachary before he becomes a big brother - although I still think he is too little to understand. He turned 2 on the 17th March - and when asked where our baby is points to his tummy then says "mums" - its very cute!!
Well thats about it in short - I still can't believe our baby will be here soon - its abit scary - but I'm really looking forward to it!! - of course. We have another ultrasound at my next OB appointment - can't wait!
IT'S A BOY !!
NICHOLAS DANIEL OWEN HANWRIGHT
Born : 16/5/08 at 7.58am
weight: 8lb 1oz (3660gms)
Length: 52.5cm
He was 12 days early!!Well like they say - second time around baby was a bigger size and the whole labour process was very quick. Total of 5 hours. It started at 3am - I thought I was going crazy - I went to the toilet 100+ times, had a shower, slept and by 6am - they pain was like bad period pain (very different to my contractions with Zachary) - so I though I'd better wake up Daniel. We decided to ring the hospital and I organised my mum to look after Zach. We were at the hospital by 7am and when the doctor examined me he said the baby would be born within an hour. I just kept thinking an hour - I'll be crippled with pain by then!! - so I asked for the drugs, was already using gas and was laying on my side. Before anything could be given to me - I had a huge "explosion" inside of me and was rolled onto my back - baby was delivered within the next 5mins!! - it was that quick (unlike Zach how took 45mins at the pushing stage). Overall I can't complain.
Nicholas is now 2.5 weeks old - healthy and going well. Apart from being sleep deprived - I couldn't of got a better baby - fingers crossed all this continues.
Cheers Belinda
