4 December 2007

I'm loving the end of my second trimester - I feel very happy and relaxed and not too much fazes me at the moment! I'm also so proud of my belly (first time in my life!). Just hope the heartburn does not return!

7 January 2008

Heartburn gone - woohoo! Very sore ribs though, think bub has got his/her leg behind my rib cage - little one is still breach, but will hopefully do a big turn for me soon.

Otherwise all good - getting bigger by the day, even though have been told baby is a little small and have to go for a scan today to make sure all okay - no harm, plus then I can see my little one again.

11 January

Baby a little smaller than average, but all good.

Ribs feeling better now - so absolutely no complaints at all - can't wait to get back swimming though - have eaten way too much over the Christmas and don't have much energy of late, think I'll feel better if I do some excercise again - also back to my blooming belly (pregnancy excercise) class this week. Will either have more energy by end of the week or just collapse in a heap!

Was told by one of the midwifes at the hospital that there's a group that get together on Monday mornings ("my birth, my baby") - It's a bit of a drive, but glad I went yesterday - learnt so much and confirmed a lot of what I'd researched about birth - very interesting in deed. Nice to know too what my rights are at the hospital and that I can wait for the cord to drain before clamping/cutting same - which I really feel strongly about.

Best of all, met a midwife/birth educator who gives birth education classes for the hospital I'm attending. I was advised that they could only fit me into a one-day birth education class (ante-natal class), which I was pretty upset about (and it's only 4 weeks before I'm due ). I requested (back in September) that I preferred the five week course - one night a week. I was told that this was the norm, as the one day course was only for those who did not have time to attend the other classes or were doing a refresher. To cut long story short, they would not change this and yesterday this midwife/health educator, Rachael, said I could join her classes, so start on Thursday night - in Noosa, a bit of a drive, but will be so worth it! So feeling very relaxed and happy at the moment - and heaps of energy - back swimming again and loving it.

31 January

Don't know where that energy's gone! Feel totally poop at the moment - lol! Been a bit sick last couple of days, feel like I'm going through morning sickness again, not as bad though, but have been sick on and off - if still like this in a few days will go to doctor.

We went to our 'preparation for parenting' course last night. Was very informative and tonight is week 4 of our birth education classes - unfortunately it finishes next week - we're both thouroughly enjoying the classes and Karl, in particular, is learning heaps, which is all good.

Oh dear feel sick again, must go ....

Feb 08

I was low on iron, which would explain why I was feeling so tired. Got some iron vitamins and feel much more energised - back to my ol' self.

Brian and Itziar came to visit (from Ireland) - was nice having them over.

Still swimming most days and going to aqua arobics and our get-togethers on Mondays (Sunshine Coast Babs) are so informative and enjoyable.

We finally sold the house in Ireland and have put a deposit down on a house here on the Sunshine Coast (Kawana Forest) - it is lovely and can't wait to move in. There are lovely walks throught the forest I can go for walks with our bub.

3 March

We are getting the keys to our new home on Wednesday, can't wait - just want to get the nursery all done up for our little bub - just really hoping that he/she does not pop out early! Gosh, I cannot believe it is already March ! Where has the time gone? Only got 2 weeks to go before our due date !!!
