This is my little one at 12 weeks and 3 days!

Above: Our wedding day and the way I was before I got pregnant!

Above: 14th March 2007 : The week we found out the fantastic news! We just HAD to do two pregnancy tests to make sure...it was unbelievable!

Hi everyone, I've finally plucked up the courage to get technical :)
I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant, all being well, I'll be 12 weeks on Sunday 22nd April...can't wait! After trying for 2 and half years we found out we are pregnant (on March 14th 07) which just happened to be the day after I booked our IVF consultation abroad! I have my first scan on 4th May, and I feel like it's taking forever! This will be our first baby and I'm very excited but also pretty anxious about having a healthy pregnancy and being a good Mum! I've been suffering quite badly from nausea and exhaustion for the passed 3 weeks to the point where I can't keep my head up! I had a concert at the end of March which I struggled to prepare for due to feeling so very sick and exhausted..but it went well in the end. I can't wait for this bit of the pregnancy to be over!...I'm in bed by 9pm these days!

I'm now 12 weeks and 1 day, and luckily my nausea is wearing off, it comes and goes now rather than being around non stop 24/7! I've put on 8 pounds since we found out we are pregnant which was on 14th March (aprox 6 weeks ago), which seems like rather a lot and I have a lovely bump which I'm quite proud of :) Now I'm feeling a little better I might start some gentle exercise soon, as I miss it!...Never thought I'd say that!

15th April 07 : 12 weeks pregnant

25th April 07 : Feeling very very sick! Yuck!!..there I was thinking it was getting better! Oh..just for the record the chinese gender chart predicts that we're having a baby girl...we'll just have to wait and see! :) Well sickness got worse, then I started getting severe stomach cramps..ones which made me double over and diarrhea...so off we went to A&E to get myself checked out, it took 3 people and 6 attempts to find a vein for the blood test and tap incase I needed an IV, anyhow, 5 hours later we found out I have gastro-enteritis...meaning plenty of fluids and dry toast! Good thing was that I got checked out by OBGYNE and she said that my pregnancy wasn't ectopic and my uterus was where it should be at this stage :)..was really hoping for a scan...but alas I still have to wait until next Friday!

26th April 07 : Slept lots, and feel washed out...I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 3 pounds!..Had to cancel work again.....couldn't handle the nausea, diarrhea and work today!
My poor hubby has had to deal with his work, household chores, job interviews, taking me to hospital and looking after me! He deserves a medal!! I'm very lucky :)

30th April 07 : finally getting over gastro enteritis, and really feeling great today! Clothes are pretty tight, I have quite a pretruding bump :) I have my first scan this Friday 4th May..quite excited but also very anxious about it, as I have no idea what to expect!

Well, I had my scan on Friday, and it was the most amazing thing I've experienced ever!! I had to wait sooo long to see my baby, and it was absolutely incredible, I lay there crying I was so overwhelmed! It was moving around so much the sonographer had difficulty taking its photo! We managed though, and we have a beautiful picture of our baby already!! I'll try to put it on my page for all to see :) (proud Mummy to be...already!)

We were told that I was only 12 weeks and 3 days pregnant (on 4th May) so I've had the weeks all wrong until now....so all my previous notes on this page are also a little ahead than what I actually was. So where I say "I'm 12 weeks and 1 day" I'm actually 10 weeks and 6 days! Which pushes my EDD to Tuesday 13th November and not the 4th.

I went out and bought myself some maternity clothes yesterday, as my clothes have got so small for me now, it's impossible to feel comfortable! My mother in-law is visiting today to see our bump...I think she's in for a bit of a shock! :)

My next scan is at 20 weeks which would be on Tuesday 26th June...can't wait!

8th May 07 : Well I'm officially in my 2nd trimester from today onwards which is very exciting. I've framed my babys scan photo so I can keep looking at it while working and reminding myself that I really and truly am pregnant...as well as showing off my little baby to all my pupils and their parents :) It's on the top of this page.

13th May 07 : I feel HUGE!!! I only have one set of maternity clothes, so I'm currently sitting in my husbands T-shirt waiting for my clothes to wash and dry!! Think I need to go shopping again! :) I have a home visit from the hospital mid wife on Monday 21st May...it's all happening!

15th May 07 : I've fulfilled my 14th week today and.... I felt my baby move for the first time! It was while lying on our sofa watching "Heroes" and I made a loud whooping sound as I felt it!! :) My hubby had his hand on my tummy all night after that..but alas...nothing! Can't wait to feel it again!

29th May 07 : Returned from a lovely break in Bruges, Belgium with my hubby, as all our friends and family highly recommended we have a break together before I get too big to walk around and baby arrives!. We had a GREAT time! I unfortunately had to pass on all the chocolate as it makes me feel so ill! Totally NOT like me! Enjoyed all the pastries though :) It's so good to feel well again!!

31st May 07 : We had an antenatal check with the doctor yesterday, and we heard the babys heart beat which was fantastic! It was a complete surprise as I normally just get weighed and get my blood pressure checked, whereas yesterday was really special! I must add that I've been feeling flutters in my tummy recently which is very exciting. My next appointment is on Thursday 7th June, at the hospital to have a triple blood test...one to check my blood group, one to check for Spina Bifida and the other for Downes Syndrome. Fingers crossed it'll all be OK.

7th June 07 : Had my triple blood test done at the hospital today....it went OK, apart from forgetting my blood forms!! Doh! The lady was great though..she found my vein first time! Phew!!

Holiday in Bruges at 16 weeks and a hair cut which was well over due!!

13th June 07 : I was admitted into hospital after excrutiating pain and misdiagnosis of a huge infected abcess at the bottom of my spine which was spreading! I also had a slight urine infection too! I was told by a very arrogant and horrible doctor, who only saw me once to get my consent for the operation and to say that there was a risk of miscarriage and left me with that without any care for my feelings and walked away! I was also told that may not be able to have a local anaesthetic as it was too near the infected area. ...I was absolutely devastated and couldn't stop crying. My husband and the nurses tried to calm me down, my Mum was also in tears. However, I was reassured by the surgeons when I went into theatre that a local aneasthetic would be OK and wouldn't harm the baby. I was given an aneasthetic in my spine and put on 2 IV's. all the doctors, nurses and surgeons were fantastic and looked after me really well....all except that one doctor who treats all his patients like machines! I stayed for one night in hospital as my temperature was pretty high and my open wound needed to be re dressed quite often and I was on an IV for a quite a while. Just before I left, I heard the babys heart beat, so I was reassured it was OK...it was recorded as 130-140. I now have to take strong pain killers every 6 hours and have a nurse visit me every day to change my dressing and pack the wound with special ribbon to help drain anything there, which is very painful, but has to be done everyday for at least another 2 or 3 weeks. It's been really really tough and I'm emotionally and physically exhausted!!

15th June 07 : Good news! Got my triple blood test results and they say our baby's low
risk at a ratio of 1: 450.
Daddy bought his baby its first present during his lunch hour at work....a gorgeous nursery rhyme book. He's such a wonderful guy..we're very lucky to have him :)

17th June 07 : I'm feeling a little better today, I can feel the baby move ever so lightly and occasionally which is lovely and really cheers me up!

19th June 07 : Nurse comes every day to dress my wound, which isn't as painful as it was a few days ago. However, my problem is sitting and lying down comfortably and supporting my back but without putting any pressure on my bottom, as my tummy has got pretty big! It's quite tricky! I have my 20 week scan next Tuesday, and I'm feeling quite nervous and anxious about it..hope that all the drugs I've had to take hasn't affected the baby in any way. Hope to find out the sex of the baby too! :)

23rd June 07 : Today was great. My hubby bought us/me a baby heart beat monitor to put my mind at rest, as I've been worrying about the affects of all the drugs, the op and stress has had on the baby the passed couple weeks! It arrived this morning, and it was fantastic to hear our babys heart beat once again. In fact my inlaws came round to visit today so mum got to listen too and then we went round to my parents and got my big tummy out again so they could hear it!..I could do this ALL day! lol! Can't wait to show my nan, she'll be sooo impressed with the technology! :) Oh...mustn't forget to add...my wound is closing up and is now only 1cm deep and I'm totally off all pain killers...hurray!

26th June 07 : Today I had my 20 week scan, and I drank loads of water to make sure the picture would be clear. So of course I wasn't seen until 20 minutes after my appointed time! Anyway, I took a pillow with with me to help lie on my back more comfortably, and Robin held my hand...( I was very nervous!) :) We had 2 other sonographers with us to help demonstrate a new scanning machine, which was pretty clear! He checked and measured the baby, and we were told it was fine and aprox 22cm in length. We then asked the sex of our baby, and we found out .....................................................................that we're having a little boy!! :) We are sooo excited, todays scan has made it so real for us now! We're totally stuck for boys names, but I'm sure we'll come up with something we both like! We had photo's taken of the scan, but they're no where near as good as the first as he was sleeping at a strange angle! The sonographer told me to cough hard to wake him up..(which was a bit tricky and very uncomfortable..due to the fact that I had a full bladder a sore wound on my lower back and the sonographer pressing very very hard on my tummy which hurt!....I thought I was going to burst!!) but all our baby boy did was stir a little and went straight back to sleep!!.ahh! :) We saw his little feet and hands.....the cutest things I've ever ever seen!! I can't wait to bring him into our world and cuddle him forever! But until then...I'm out shopping! LOL! :) Ooh...one more thing...so much for "Chinese Gender Prediction! I guess it had a 50/50 chance! :)

Here's my lovely baby boy at 20 weeks ..excuse him for not posing...for he was very busy..... sleeping! :)

6th July 07 : I had some good news today. The nurse said that my wound on my lower back is almost healed and doesn't need packing anymore, so she won't be coming over at the weekend...I just need to keep this infection at bay now! Robin and I have been thinking very very hard about choosing a boys name, it's been tough as we want a name that's Turkish and pronouncable in English, and we've come up with something we both really like, which is great! It's "Taylan" but pronounced "Tye-lan" in english..this is my only reservation, I guess we'll just have to make sure everyone pronounces it correctly :) Who knows it may change by next week!

I've booked the builders to come mid August and reboard and plaster all bedroom ceilings, and replaster the walls as well as knock a chimney breast down, we hope to be getting new carpets fitted too, so our little boy will have a lovely nursery when he's born, and we'll have a smart bedroom too! It's so exciting! oooh...forgot to mention..need a new front door too! :)

Me at 22 weeks..enjoying my pregnancy at last, and just waiting for my belly button to pop out! :)

16th July 07 : I can finally feel my baby boy move!!! It's such a wonderful feeling, he makes me giggle every time and I'm loving it! :)

Lots going on!...Had an asthma check at the hospital today..good news is that it's all under control, but they're going to continue checking up on it so I have to keep a peak flow diary. I also booked my week 28 GTT (glucose tolerence test) and my bloods to be done all on the same day, which is Tues 21st August. Then the next day (Wed 22nd August) I have an appointment with the consultant..I may aswell camp there for the week!
It's all going so fast!

Also forgot to mention that my feet and ankles swell up ocassionally and I need to put them up alot of the time...not ideal when teaching! Ho hum.

I got an invitation today to perform a short piano recital at my old school in September.....I'll be 7 months pregnant by then.....hmmm..should be interesting!

21st July 07 : Robin felt our baby kick (or punch as he puts it!) last night..this has made me feel very happy..not that he got punched of course but that he felt our baby...AT LAST!!! He was moving so much last night that my bowl of cherries (which was resting on my tummy) almost went up in the air! :)

We're going "window" shopping today at Blue Water to check out the babys nursery furniture and other goodies that we've added to our wish list at John Lewis and Mothercare. Very excited!

7th August 07 : Our son is kicking and punching me so hard these days that I can actually sit and watch my tummy jiggle around! It's great apart from the times he kicks my bladder! We've booked a 3/4D scan on 22nd August..I'll be 29 weeks then, and should be able to see our babys features more clearly....I can't wait!

9th August 07 : Thought it was funny to note down that baby woke me up at 4.30am with hiccups!! (sp hicoughs??) I was giggling for quite some time and woke his daddy up! :)

20th August 07 : I have my GTT (glucose tolerence test) and blood tests tomorrow..and not allowed to eat or drink after 9pm! Boo! :( I'm a bit anxious about the results!

21st August 07 : Yesterday was the first day of my last trimester..and it's all going so fast!

Had my tests yesterday, GTT and bloods and it went OK, I get the results at my next consultation appointment on Wed 5th Sept. I have a 3/4D scan tonight at Kings Oak Hospital and I'm really excited about it! :) ....Just got back....it was absolutely fantastic. He was moving around so much..rubbing his eyes, kicking and playing with his feet! He looks just like his lovely daddy :)

22nd August 2007 : Our baby boys 4d scan at 29 weeks

27th August 07 : It's bank holiday Monday today and our builders have finished replastering and the electrician has fitted the light fixtures, so hubby is painting the base coat today...I can't wait to get this finished, it's going to look so lovely!

4th September 07: My big bump at 30 weeks, in the middle of building works at home...so excuse the mess! Infact the office chair behind me is the only corner I can sit at my laptop comfortably!

7th September 07: Hubby's been painting like crazy for nearly 2 weeks..my parents came round and helped towards the end which was great...and now we've got the carpets fitted so I hope to be moving back home this weekend...can't wait! Tyelan's been kicking ALOT the past few days and his kicks are getting stronger!

16th September 07 : Today was a very special day because of many things...firstly, we bought Tyelans first little outfit to come home in from the hospital, plus sleepsuits, booties, little socks, blanket and a little fleece jacket...SO cute!!! Then we bought nearly all my hospital bag stuff..just a few bits and pieces left to get...and....FINALLY..we've managed to move back home! We're still waiting for wardrobes to be delivered which will take another 5 to 6 weeks, and there's still alot of things that need to be sorted and put away, mainly into the loft..which needs to be boarded first! We have yet to buy a new front door and there's still a few painting jobs to be done...hopefully my wonderful hubby will manage to get all this done quite soon! Am very happy at this moment in time :)

20th September 07 : This morning we received Tyelans first nursery furniture from Mamas&Papas, and it's absolutely gorgeous. We're so excited!

25th September 07 : Received Tyelans travel system, bouncer and baby gym from John Lewis' tonight and Robin has already put it together, we've been playing with the pram all night lol!! It's all becoming very real! I had an antenatal check last Wednesday, and the doctor told me he's head down..which is a relief! Only 7 weeks to go! Antenatal classes at Barnet Hospital begin next Tuesday...can't wait!

6th October 07 : It was my 33rd birthday yesterday, and was just another day! Worked til 9.30pm, but my lovely hubby bought us a curry to celebrate and gave me lovely pressies...dvd, a book on toddlers and
lovely toys for our baby. Hope to have a small party of friends round for take away..it'll be the last time I see them before having baby! My parents are away in Turkey at the moment, so I guess we'll have a family get together for my birthday after they return.
Today we went to Blue Water and changed the entire travel system as the car seat wasn't appropriate for our car (which wasn't what we were told at the time!) and then we thought we may as well buy something a bit smaller so we can fit it into anyones car as the first one we bought was massive! It was very hard work shopping all day...I don't think I'll be doing that again until after the birth! We bought Tyelans baby bath set, some more cute little clothes, cotbed sheets and blanket, a skincare set and grooming set and of course..hubby couldn't help himself and bought MORE toys!! :) Not forgetting swapping his travel system for another..hopefully arriving on Friday 12th with his cotbed and moses basket. Can't wait!!

28th October 07 : Our wardrobes finally arrived last Thursday and we've been very busy putting our stuff away and sorting out our clothes which then meant we could set up the nursery properly!..Well, almost! We finished the nursery this morning..border was put up last week, and today Robin put his curtain tie backs up and fixed the decor on the wall..just got one canvas to put up. Light shades are up and I've even put his little clothes away in the cupboard! :) It looks gorgeous (if I may say so myself!) Just waiting for my nursing chair and foot stool to arrive now and about to order a small table for his room for his thermometer and baby monitor and would like t get a toy box to keep things tidy...to begin with anyway! So we're very nearly there! Here's some pics:

2nd Nov 07 : Today is my last day of work, and I'm feeling as though it's an end of a chapter! All my pupils are wishing me lots of luck and some have even bought presents for the baby! I'm very lucky to have such lovely people to work with! Hope they do well in their exams next Tuesday and Wednesday! I'm really looking forward to sleeping lots and putting my feet up as they're SO swollen and hurt! I can't even put my sandals on anymore! I've been getting BH contractions on and off..mainly after we have a curry! lol! I do hope that I'll get to rest a little before baby arrives! Doctor says that he's 3/5ths engaged so here's hoping he won't take too long to arrive :)

3rd Nov 07 : I was up at 4am this morning with signs of early labour...lower back pains and strong contractions every half hour..my hubby called the hospital and I was instructed to have a hot bath and call again in a couple of hours. So, I had my bath and kept doing my breathing exercises every contraction Robin was brilliant and did the breathing with me, which helped me focus and not panic! I then fell asleep inbetween, but the contractions stopped and woke up this morning at 9.30 feeling very disappointed that it was a false alarm! Hoping that Tyelan will arive soon!

4th Nov 07 : First day of maternity leave and STILL waiting! (Got new front door fitted though!)

Me at 39 weeks...performing a unique balancing act :)

Me at 39 weeks

10th Nov 07 : Still waiting! Uurghh!!

12th Nov 07 : Had contractions again at 1am today but wore off around 4.30am and they've been on and off all day..I think his time's drawing near :) We're very tired though (already!) and going to bed at 7pm!

13th Nov 07 : Today is supposed to be my due date and I've had no signs of labour what so ever! I had a nice long lie in this morning and just had a long pampering session and I've got my feet up watching TV!..Come on my baby... I'm SO ready!!

15th Nov 07 : I'm now two days overdue amd the midwife attempted to do a membrane sweep today but failed as my cervix is too high..she's going to try again next Wednesday 21st if that fails then I'll be induced on Friday 23rd Nov.

18th Nov 07 : I had contractions all day yesterday which got stronger and more frequent so we went to the hospital around midnight and the midwife checked me only to find our baby is no where near ready to be born yet and in fact he's back to back, which is scaring me! So sadly I got sent home! The contractions have faded away and I've had nothing all day today. Fingers crossed he'll turn the right way before Friday!

19th Nov 07 : Feeling a bit better about things..I've been leaning forward every chance I get and rocking
on all fours. I guess I'll have to wait until Wednesday when the midwife attempts to do a second membrane sweep to find out if he's turned. My friends and family have been really supportive and my hubby is WONDERFUL..I don't know what I would do without him!

26th Nov 07 : Today is the 2nd day home from hospital! Tyelan was born on Wednesday 21st November 2007 at 3.49am weighing 7Ib's 8oz.

GUESS WHAT??.....On Tuesday 20th I still had no signs of labour and was preparing lunch for my hubby for when he got home, and I had one strong contraction which I ignored as I had so many false alarms before! I made myself some raspberry leaf tea and then had another contraction. My husband got home and my contractions were coming strong and fast at which time Robin gave up the idea of going back to work and started timing my contractions. I also hooked myself up to my TENS machine which was good for early labour). At 3.30pm I was in hospital and 2cm dialated, I was relieved to hear that baby had turned to his side and was no longer back to back (posterior position). My parents and sister arrived, I had some food, had a shower and changed for the big event! We even put on the CD's we chose ..Beethovens 5th piano concerto :) My mum rubbed my back in the early stages of labour which was great but I couldn't bear it in the later stages as it got extremely painful. I got to 4cm and had one dose of pethidine and continued to 10cm (sleeping inbetween contractions) rather quickly on just gas and air. My husband was great, holding my hand all the way through....literally for every single contraction! Towards the end I was moved into another room to be monitored as our baby was in distress and had done his meconium inside me! My hubby gave me water and wiped my brow throughout!

I then had the urge to push but the baby was no where to be seen and I was then told to stop as he was in distress, he was back to back and too high up, so they suggested drugs to intensify the contractions further to try and turn the baby around and then a ventouse delivery and failing that a cesarian section. By this time I was begging for the epidural anyway! Thankfully I was given an epidural as they were planning to intensify the contractions further and I was taken into theatre and they realised the cord was tight around the babys neck aswell and every time I pushed the cord got tighter. After all the pain and anguish I was then rushed into theatre and given a C section straight away and our baby boy was born at 3.49am (just over 12 hours after coming into hospital) 7Ib's and 8oz....I couldn't see the op but I did hear him cry the second he was out! I coudn't believe it! I was then in recovery for the whole day and both our parents visited. I was completely on another planet! The next day I was taken to the ward and baby Tyelan was at my bedside the whole time....I couldn't stop looking at him he's so cute! We were then moved to a room of our own and unfortunately Tyelan had severe jaundice which affected his feeding in a big way and was put under phototherapy lights for 3 days...they almost had to give him a blood transfusion and feed him by tube as he wasn't feeding properly. However, he luckily managed to turn things around and his feeding improved aswell as his jaundice and on Saturday 24th we were finally allowed to come home. I had my stitches out today (Monday 26th) and although I'm still pretty slow getting around (I'm allergic to the pain killers they would normally give and I'm having to take "normal" painkillers) I'm healing well. I'm trying to breast feed but Tyelan isn't co operating very well and the Midwife (who has come to our home twice now) has suggested I express my milk aswell as feed him formula and feed him by bottle which is working very well.

So, there's my story...and it's only just the beginning! :)

Wednesday 21st November 2007...Just a few hours old!

22nd Nov '08..exhausted!! Tyelan has 3 days of phototherapy for he was severely jaundiced...my poor baby!

24th November 2007 : Home Sweet Home

26th November 2007 : Proud Mummy and Daddy

28th November 2007 : Tyelan at 1 week old .....Truly Irresistible....... If I may say so myself!! :)

27th November 2007 : A visit from Tyelans Great Grandmother (my nan)

2nd December 07 : Wide awake! Just two weeks old!

Tyelan and his proud parents just two weeks after his birth.

OK..so here's the continuation of our story:

31st December: Tyelan has settled into his home very well and has a very good routine..feeds every 2 hours during the day and every 4 hours at night, so he's obviously worked out the days and nights..thank goodness!! :)

Christmas Eve he got weighed and was 10Ib's and 6 oz, so despite his cold he's doing very well.

Well, it's New Years Eve and we've been invited to a small family party this evening and have to get Tyelan into his party outfit :)

4th January '08: During my pregnancy I made some really lovely friends on this site ...Tilly, Michaela, Buffy and Nikki naming a few....and although we've all had our babies now, we have kept in touch. I met Tilly for the first time in Sept (we were 32 weeks pregnant then) and tonight Tilly and her family came round for dinner and we finally got to meet each others babies! It was SO exciting and Noah is SO cute!! We're all planning to meet up at the end of this month with our little ones and I can't wait!

Here's some photos of us doing some baby swapping! :)

Babies Unite! Presenting the gorgeous, the lovely.... Noah and Tyelan!

9th January '08 : Today Tyelan is 7 weeks old and he's learning new sounds all the time and growing up FAST! He almost rolled over for the first time last Friday 4th, so we're having to be very careful now as
to where we put him down so he doesn't fall! He really loves his bath times..and here's a photo to prove it!

20th January '08 : Today was a very special day indeed! Not only was it Tyelan's first tube train journey but it was also the first time us "I-am-pregnant.com" girls got together with our babies, although it was unfortunate that NikkiN and Buffy were unable to make it (you were greatly missed girls!) ...Tilly, Michaela and myself managed to finally meet in London. It was a bit tricky at first as their were lots of escalators involved and lots of prams to squeeze into the restaurant..we managed it though and we had an entire corner to ourselves! :) I don't know about the others but I had a GREAT time and I feel SO lucky to have made such wonderful friends! Although we write to each other almost every other day..we still had so much to talk about I didn't want the afternoon to end. The other good thing about it was that our hubbys also got on really well too! (Again from Robins point of view lol!) Girls if you're reading this...your babies are absolutely gorgeous and can't wait to meet up again. Nikki and Buffy...We'll definitely organise something again you were both sorely missed!

Well, I think I'm expected to to be the first to put photos up (lol!) so here they are!

Michaela's "Tiger" position works a treat on baby Tyelan!

Boy, did we catch alot of attention taking these photos!!

Baby Sabah is spoilt for choice! :)..Hmmm...now who's more comfy??? Decisions, decisions!

From left to right...Tilly and baby Noah, Michaela and baby Sabah, baby Tyelan and me!

The proud Dads! Left to right : Tyelan's Dad Robin, Noah's Dad James and Sabah's Dad Jason.

It was a day to remember!

Photos Above : 26th Jan 08 : Saturday morning in Mum and Dad's bed! Such a poser! :)
This is my favourite photo so far! Tyelan 2 months old getting ready for a bath.

4th February '08 : Today I started work. After 3 months of maternity leave I left my baby with a nanny in the living room and taught for just an hour, and although he was just across the hallway and for only an hour, I missed him terribly! However, the nanny (called Bina) was excellent and I know I can trust her with Tyelan...Phew!! Hope we get into a good routine with work, baby, house cleaning and cooking!

8th February '08 : Tyelan rolled over, over and over again on his play gym in his cot! He loved it and every time we put him back on his back he had a huge smile on his face, he was so proud of himself!

14th February '08 : Tyelan's teething already and my poor baby has had a nappy rash which has been ever so sore, but due to lots of nappy changes, tons of sudocreme and naked time he's much better :)

9th Feb '08 : Tyelans first pub lunch! 11 weeks old...the beginnings of teething! :)

15th Feb '08 : Got Tyelan weighed this morning and he's now 15Ib's....he's above average! :)

21st Feb '08 : My gorgeous boy who's 3 months old today and dancing with Mummy....he's just started to roll all the way over now.

Tyelan was 16 weeks last Friday 14th March and weighed 16Ib's 11oz. He's already sitting up and dribbling EVERYWHERE!! He drinks 7oz of SMA formula every 4 hours and sleeps aprox 1 or 2 hours after ever feed. The only time he cries (and when I say cry I mean scream!) is when he's over tired or hungry! He's a good boy :) We're trying to delay the weaning process a little longer as my Father in law (Paeditrician) hasn't suggested it until he's aprox 6 months. ...we'll see! We have a Nanny come every day to look after Tyelan while I teach across the hallway. It's working very well so far and the Nanny is lovely and I've got used to juggling Nanny and baby, house work and teaching aswell as a little socialising with my friends!! A little "Me" time is VERY important as it keeps me sane! lol! :)

Here are some more photos:

15 weeks old and cheeky with it!

Friday 14th March 2008...Getting ready for bed ......and please note how he's holding onto his story book with his Daddy :)

8th April 2008 : Tyelan had his 4 month jabs today..I gave him his first ever (half) dose of Calpol before we set off to the docs and he cried LOADS...managed to calm him down before coming home and he spent most of the morning sleeping off the Calpol and we went out for coffee with his Granny (hubby's Mum) in the afternoon.

April 2008...Tyelans new teddy.

28th May 2008 : Well, believe it or not Tyelan was 6 months last Wednesday. He's such a well behaved little boy. He still sleeps through the night as long as he gets a sleep feed! We've started the weaning process and it's going extremley slow at the moment. We're following the Annabel Karmel meal planner and so far he's had baby rice, mashed banana, home made pureed carrot and he had pureed pear today but unfortunately none of them were a big hit! I'm hoping that it's all just very new to him and will take time to get used to.

Everyday is a joy...he's an incredibly smiley baby and everyone loves spending time with him! I look forward to walking into his room every morning to see his big smiles :)

I'm managing to juggle work, Nannies, feeding, changing, entertaining Tyelan and house work I'm always incredibly tired but I've got used it!

LOVE being a Mum :)

15th July 2008 : Tyelan has grown loads he's almost 8 months, has 2 teeth at the bottom and he's quite a tall! He eats well..LOVES Ellas's Kitchen and can't get enough of his deserts! He's got used to mixing home made foods with prepared foods which is useful. We've just started on stage 2 foods...but hasn't quite got the hang of lumpy food yet. He's yet to crawl but prefers standing and always manages to roll over onto his front in his sleep and one if us has to rescue him! Sleep patterns have changed from sleeping through the night til 8pm to waking every morning around 3 and 4. However having said that he did manage to sleep through last night so fingers crossed he'll continue. We go to Tumble Tots every Friday morning and really enjoys the music and is quite a little entertainer! Don't know who he gets it from!?? :)

29th August 2008 : We've come to the end of the summer and Tyelan's grown up so much! We went on holiday to Leeds, York, Perth and Manchester and experienced lots of new things like Edinburgh Zoo, feeding the peacocks at Scone Palace, Swimming and the swings at the park for the first time and he's learnt to run in his walker and he's babbling loads! His first word was 2 weeks ago and it was "Dada!"...so cute! He's not too well at the moment though as his top 2 and possibly bottom side teeth are coming through, apart from a cold and getting very little sleep last night it's nothing serious. I'm now in the middle of organising his 1st birthday party which is just under 3 months away....it's all going so fast!

I had my VIP friends round again yesterday and we had such a fab time (as always!) with all the gorgeous babies! They've grown up so much! Noah, Sabah and Nathan were cruising on the furniture and going up the stairs!! It was Sabah's first time on the stairs...am flattered she chose to climb mine for the first time hee hee! :) Tye had a wonderful time! Photo's are in my album above.

Hi there! Been out of town a bit so am just getting back into checking the site. How's Tyelan sleeping now~is he all settled from those 3 and 4am wakings or still doing it? Growth spurt maybe? Take care! xxx

Hi! Sorry to hear you've been working so late...I imagine you must be exhausted! I hope the exams go well. What's the average age of your students~middle school/high school? Are the exams to achieve a distinction for university? I wish I were more musically inclined. I never took lessons as a child but would love to play piano...it's so beautiful. I've been tired myself but it's my own fault for staying up so late! Ryan and I've been catching up on "The Office." Do you have that program available? There are incredibly funny moments but mostly is sort of awkward! Ryan literally fell over on the couch lauging so hard at one episode the other night. Today is our 4th of July holiday, so I'm off work (woo-hoo!). The three of us have had a v. fun family day. What are you all up to this weekend? Oh, wanted to mention that I finally got brave and joined Facebook and would love to invite you into my network. I found Michaela on there, too. If not, I understand! No worries! :) Just seems a bit more private for messaging, especially about our children. But I surely don't know~I'm certainly not tech savvy! Have a lovely weekend and hope to hear from you again soon! Hugs to you and Tyelan xx

Hi again! I meant to ask you in my last post how you and Tyelan spend your time before nanny arrives for the afternoon. Do you go for walks or just play at home? Read a lot? What's his fave toy at the moment? Just wondering! We have a little routine down for both work days and weekend days, and I was wondering how much ours varies from yours. Happy Sunday! xx

maeve - Sunday, 29 June
Oh, that's great! Please let her know that I asked about her :) Of course, she has no idea who I am, lol! I do miss all the conversation that used to be on here when we were all pregnant...(and I regret not having introduced myself way back then!)

maeve - Sunday, 29 June
Hi! That's okay; I'm just glad to hear from you! I know what you mean about crazy weeks...lately I've been feeling as if I don't see E nearly enough some days, and that's hard...yesterday was particularly long. Like Tyelan, I think she's teething again; today was rather miserable, from what my husband said. He stays with her all day Saturdays while I work, and I have her all to myself Sundays while he works. On weekdays, I have her mornings before school and he has her on his own in the afternoons until I get home. He's a fantastic dad, and lately has been doing more and more around the apartment....among other chores, he's getting more into dinner preparation, which I REALLY appreciate! :) He starts/ends his days early, and I start/end my workday later, which is ironic because I'm the morning person while he's the nightowl, lol! I'm so glad for you that you're able to spend so much of the day with Tyelan. Although E is only in school part-time, I don't get to be with her as much as it would seem. But at least she's with one of us most times...Could be worse, right?!

The baby food you're using sounds great! We use Earth's Best, which is organic, too, and we also use Gerber Organics for variety. But we always have to do a separate fruit/veggie, so the jars take up a lot more space in the pantry. You're so right~it's wonderful to have your child enjoy his/her food. E has a bottle four x's/day, usually anywhere between 3-6 oz. each time. The minimum her pedi said she needs is 16 oz, so that's sort of what we go by if we're concerned she's not drinking enough. When you say Tyelan's being demanding, what do you mean? More clingy?

I have to maximize my time with the trainer this summer before hubby resumes school because, after that, I'm on my own to find a way to workout during the week. I may be desperate enough to have to start going after E goes to bed. It's hard enough just trying to go twice weekly at the moment...So for you to have made as much progress on your own as you have, "Good on ya!" as the saying goes :) Well done!

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for the note! Talk more soon, I hope :) Hugs!

P.S. Whatever happened to NikkiN? One of the last times I noticed she'd been on here, she'd had that awful mugging incident. Do you know how she's doing?

maeve - Thursday, 26 June
Wow, I'm impressed with your discipline! I thought about joining Weight Watchers but always came up with a reason not to. I finally got a trainer at the gym down the street from our apartment and I'm pleased so far. It's only temporary, but it's fun and I can already see a difference. My thyroid issue makes it difficult to lose weight, unfortunately.

What does your husband do for a living? Mine is a former engineer in the process of completing nursing school. It's tricky sometimes living on one income, but it's so wonderful that we're both so available for E while she's still so young.

I remember reading on your page how Tyelan has always slept so well..our children have a lot in common! They were due within a week of each other, they were both late arrivals, they both started sleeping through the night at 7/8 weeks...a few other things I'll remember when I've sent this! :) How does he like his baby food? Is he eating well? E seems not to care much for her formula anymore; it's rare for her to finish the full amount lately.

It was lovely to come home and receive a message from you! I'm off to prepare dinner...Sleep well! xx

mm, does he sleep through? No...He is breastfed though, they very rarely do yet.
He was only waking at 3am for a feed, but i think the teething has thrown his routine a little. The last two nights have been awful and i feel like crap, oh well, i keep hoping it will get better. The whole nap thing is a nightmare isn't it?? Just managed to get him to go down for one, it's keeping him asleep that's difficult too, still love him to bits though!!

marie1 - Monday, 17 Mar
hey there! had Alex weighed a couple of weeks ago and he was 16 lbs 7, so who knows what he'll be by the time i go again next week!! I'm using all the remedies under the sun with the tooth, although it's almost through. Teething granules, gel and calpol. He's not been too bad, but that could be cos he's drugged!! x

marie1 - Sunday, 16 Mar
Concert went really well ta, very strange leaving him for the first time, felt like a part of me was missing all day. Alex is massive!! He's doing everything early, rolling over and cutting his first tooth at 16 weeks! i've just put some new photos up, as you can see, he loves to smile!!

marie1 - Saturday, 15 Mar

also to help his little bottom don't wipe him with a cloth or wipes just let water run on his butt and try some corn starch. Best wishes to you also if you ever have a question just ask I will try to help you!

Hi, I saw your post and just had to respond because the same thing just happened to my daughter! All of a sudden i thought she had a stomach virus because the color and consistency of her poop changed. She used to go only once per day and she started to go at every diaper change. Her little heiney got sooo red and sore. Desitin was burning her. I called her doc and he recommended Triple Paste which works great. She has also been on her formula for several weeks and even the doc said it wouldn't be from that. He just said that sometimes babies bowel movements change. She now goes about 3-4 times per day which is still way more than before. I was so worried and her red sore butt made me sooo upset because she has never had a problem with that before. Other than the Triple Paste as much as possible I did try to let her air out between diaper changes and after her bath to let the air get to it. That helps! Also, the Triple Paste doesn't burn at all like some other stuff. Hope this helps. Giabella's rash is all gone.

i READ YOUR COMMENT ABOUT YOUR BABIES BOTTOM IF YOU CAN FIND BOUDREAUXS BUTT PASTE THAT IS THE BEST STUFF MY 2ND CHILD DID THAT EVERYTIME SHE WOULD TEETH

RobinG - Wednesday, 13 Feb
Baby1 ~ did he just get the rotovirus vaccine? That is a side effect of it. My son did that too for about a week. I just used A&D ointment. My doc told me it will occur. If he didnt get the vac perhaps it just be a tummy bug. (()) I dont think it would be the formula this far along. If it is a bug you may need to give some pedialite for electrolites if he is going over and over. I would check with your doc (())

sarah2880 - Wednesday, 13 Feb
Yes, If your baby is teething, diareah is very common. Just make sure the baby is drinking enough and I would have diaper cream around if a rash developes. It may last a week or two, if it concerns you or it looks like the baby is losing weight, talk to your doctor to make sure the baby is not getting dehydrated
