Tuesday, 1 Apr Aw man. That sucks! :( She is doing well. Sleeping away. She had a doctor appointment yesterday for another weight check. Because last week she was just 6 lbs 6 oz & doctor said she should've gained more than 2 oz since birth. But now she weighs exactly 7 lbs, so that's really good. I can't wait until your bundle of joy is here so we can see some pictures! first-time-mami -

Tuesday, 1 Apr Hi ya, Thanks. It's instead of a bassinet. They are made in New Zealand (where I live)and are a great space saver as they hang in the cot. They are surposed to be good as when baby moves they rock which is meant to imitate the womb.....I'll get back to you on how it works.
Good luck, are you having any signs that the end is near? imommy2be -

Saturday, 29 Mar Good luck to you on Monday. If they do make a plan to induce you, keep in mind that it takes a long time sometimes. The pain relief available is very helpful and will not harm baby. The lactation specialist was so impressed with how well Jacob was able to breastfeed right away and he was so alert. I didn't have any narcotics though. The pitocin which they have to use if they induce and then the epidural. I was hysterical for the final 45 minutes, the rest was pretty calm and peaceful. Hopefully your labor won't be as long as mine was and of course it will all be over before you know it anyway. Jacob got a little more active toward the end too. Kayla is on her way! mommyinthesky -
Saturday, 29 Mar Hey there, You are in for a very calm and happy little girl who probably just likes being up at night a little bit. All of those movement issues and worries and the baby turned out just fine. He gets bad gas though and he hates having his diaper changed. I'll hopefully get to write more later. I hope you are doing well. first-time-mami -
Saturday, 29 Mar hey kim hope you have a great weekend! just think... if you dun go into labor you'll have your baby no later than april 2nd!!! ahh!!!! i'm so excited for yoU!!! whitneyc -
Friday, 28 Mar Hey! :) I am the happiest person in the world right now! :) You are going to love being a mom. I can't get over the feeling. But.. my induction went reasonably well. My mistake was waiting too long to ask for the epidural. Well here's the story-- my doctor broke my water at 8:00. They started me on pitocin at 8:30 and were increasing it every 15 minutes. The more it increased, the stronger it got but I was just breathing through them because the nurses told me to try and wait as long as possible before asking for the epidural. They got it to level 17 and they all of the sudden went from 5 minutes apart to 2 minutes apart and coming VERY strong. They were bringing tears to my eyes. I got my epidural at that time though and was 4cm dilated. That was about 10:00. They came and checked me an hour later at 11:00 and had went to 4.5cm cm. They came back the next hour at about 12:00 and had went from 4.5cm to 10cm and was ready to push!! I started pushing at about 12:40 and had to push for 2 hours because she was looking to the side instead of up or down, which made it harder for her to come down the canal. They thought they might have to use the vacuum because she was already too far down into my vagina to do a C-section. But, I kept pushing, and she finally started making more progress. I pushed her out on my own. 7 lbs 14 oz! :) The epidural took away all the pain though and I didn't feel anything after I got it. Overall, the induction went well, and I would definitely do it again if I have another child! I hope if you get induced you have a smooth labor and delivery! If you have any questions then just ask me! Becca86 -
Friday, 28 Mar Thanks hun, its so nice to have someone sympathise with me, everyone in my family just thinks Im moaning but Im not, Im just tired and sick of it. Do you think if I told the doctor I was so miserable they would induce me? lol! xx merseyloo1 -

Thursday, 27 Mar They used cytotek on me with my 1st pg. It is a little pill they put on your cervix to ripen it. I started contracting right away. They were mild at first and then got real strong. I didn't have any problems with it and delivered a healthy 8 lb baby girl! babyat39 -
Thursday, 27 Mar Hi Kim,
Even though I Maternity is not my specialty, I remember hearing about cytotec to induce labor by ripening the cervix. I also looked it up. It seems that the doctors feel it is safe, but recommendations are to not use it. Everyone has their opinion. It seems that it is most dangerous in a woman that has had prior uterine surgery. Question your doctor about what you have learned and of your concerns. I wish I knew more. I saw the doctor today. I had my NST and Leah made out fine but I feel a bit down due to these cluster migraines. I had 2 hours of sleep last night and not much the night before. I wake into a bad headache and can't go back to sleep. My doctors do not like to induce unless it is absolutely necessary because they say it almost always ends in a c-section. My pressure was up, my labs were ok and I am still doing my 24 hour urine-they are going to check my cervix tomorrow and do another NST on Friday. The doctor told me that my headaches and blood pressure may get worse after I deliver!!!!!!!! first-time-mami -

Wednesday, 26 Mar i went into hospital at 6:30 in the morning, they put a jet inside up top of your cervic and thats it it was an hour after that i was getting the period type contractions and at 2:00 i started having the horrible cant stand it anymore contraction come on for only 2 and half hours of that my little boy was in my arms, so only 2 and a half hours of actual pain and that was it it was not a horrible experience for me like other people would say it was HORRIBLE but i thought it was quick and easy, good luck i wish the best for you in your labour and delivery!!!!! take care dibs -
Wednesday, 26 Mar That was my adorable boyfriend who found that and posted it on my sight:) babyat39 -
Wednesday, 26 Mar Hi Kim,
Any signs of baby yet? Not for me. I'm going through a cluster migraine cycle. It sucks. I had 4 last night, but only 1 was bad. I saw my doctor today. He did stat labs since I felt awful and now I have to do my 5th 24 hour urine test. My protein amt. keeps getting better, but the B/P is still elevated. I asked if we could just induce and he said let's wait to see what my labs show(they will probably be normal like they always are) and he said I can have my cervix checked on Thurs. Finally. I have my weekly non-stress test tomorrow. When the Dr. asked me if the baby is moving, I told him like I tell all the doctors in the practice that she is active about 3 days, then quieter for a few days. He said he doesn't care about her pattern, that if I do not feel her move, I must call. He said 'you are far enough along that we would be able to deliver her' Kim, honestly, what they would do is bring me to L&D, put me on a monitor, find out that she is moving fine and then send me home. If I called every time that she didn't move as much, I'd be in there 3 days a week. But, I told Sean that the next time she is quiet, I am calling and going to the hospital. I can't take any chances that something could go wrong. I'll be 39 weeks on Friday. I need to meet her already!!!!!! mommyinthesky -
Wednesday, 26 Mar I'm glad there is a more concrete end in sight for you. April 2nd wouldn't be so bad and you still have time where you could go into labor on your own. We're thinking of going dancing again tomorrow since it seemed to work to get things started. I shouldn't have taken that warm shower once the contractions were goig. 2ndbaby -
