DOMINIC ANDREW GORDON WILL BE COMING HOME ON MONDAY, JUNE 9TH AND I CANNOT WAIT!!! HE NOW WEIGHS 6LBS 5OZS AND IS THE PICTURE OF HEALTH LADIES! I WILL BE POSTING PICTURES AND INFORMATION ON MONDAY AFTER WE GET HOME AND BELIEVE ME, THERE WILL BE PICTURES!!! THANKS TO ALL YOU WONDERFUL LADIES!!!

June 1, 2008

Hey everyone! I am proud to say that Dominic now weighs 5lbs 13ozs and is doing wonderfully! He is still in the NICU but should be coming home sometime within the next 2 weeks, provided everything goes smoothly. We had a short time awhile back with him constantly having heart rate drops and the doctor had to increase his medication. At that time I was visiting him once a day for a couple hours. After hearing all of that I started visiting twice a day and since then, he has not had a heart rate drop that needed stimulation! I swear, it is simply a miracle and a blessing. Dominic is now taking every feeding from a bottle within the allotted 20 minutes and has started waking and fussing for every feeding, a very good sign! It has been a long and arduous 7 1/2 weeks but we can now see a light at the end of the tunnel! Thank you to all the wonderful friends I have made on here and for all of your support and prayers. I've added new pictures of Dominic and the last couple pictures are what he looks like now. You will be amazed at the transformation! Tons of love and good wishes to all of you!

April 23, 2008

I am happy to announce that Dominic has been moved from his Pod 4 room to the Annex which is great! The Annex is a room for babies who are stable but do not yet weigh enough to go to Progressive Care. Yeah! Dominic did drop in weight from 2lbs 14oz, to 2lbs 7.7ozs, but is now up to 2lbs 11oz. They have added calories to his feedings which is helping him put on weight. Now that my son is in the Annex, things are more hands-on. I get to take his temperature and yesterday, the nurse taught me how to take Dominic out of his isolette and how to wrap him up so that I can hold him without having to wait for a nurse! It's a little tricky and it is definitely going to take some practice for me to get it right and not be nervous. What makes it complicated is making sure you have his wires to the side so you don't get them twisted and tangled, making sure you pull out his one white wire so his alarm isn't sounding off, and wrapping him so he's warm and his wires again aren't twisted or taught! My biggest fear is him rolling out of his isolette as much as he wiggles and stretches! Well, I'll get it eventually! Okay, time to go shower and start my day, my munchkins want to go to the pool! Later ladies, and I will keep you folks posted!

DOMINIC ANDREW GORDON has arrived!!! He was born April 12 at 9:52 am weighing 2lbs 14oz and measuring in at 16 1/4 inches! Take a look at his pictures and feel free to read his birth story under the "children" tab. Thank you all so much for your love and support. I will keep you updated as he is in the NICU but making wonderful progress on a daily basis!

March 25, 2008

Hello ladies, I am officially back from the dead! LOL! Just kidding. Today we finally got internet hooked up and thank God cause I have been missing all of you terribly! So, a few things happened since I last talked to everyone. As you all know, I had an ultrasound at 17 wks and all was well (it was a boy of course) but I had to go back in for a repeat because the tech wasn't able to get all his measurements. I went in for my 20 week u/s and baby Dominic was doing great, he weighed in at 13oz! However, during the course of the u/s the tech found some tissue that could cause possible harm to the baby so she asked that I come in 3 weeks from then...talk about the longest three weeks of my life! At 23 weeks I went in to the high risk clinic for an appt and another u/s. This time my little man weighed in at 1lb 14oz! The doctor told me that the tissue wasn't going to present a problem for the baby or myself. Apparently at some point in my pregnancy, I bled internally and the blood got under the membranes and lifted them which is the tissue they were seeing. This doctor did notice that my placenta was shaped strangely. It is shaped kind of like a weight. Instead of being one nice big circle, there are two circles with a thin section connecting them. This poses no problem for the baby but I do have to let the doctors in labor and delivery know so that they can be sure and remove all of the placenta after Dominic is born.

So, I am currently 26 weeks pregnant (27 on thursday), my son is kicking my butt, I cannot breathe, I am exhausted, my lower back is killing me, and oh yes, I failed my glucose tolerance test! That means in a couple weeks I have to take it again, only this time it's three hours long instead of only one. I hope I pass! Anyhow, I am going to reply to my million messages now and I hope all of my wonderful friends are doing great! Love you all!

January 20, 2008

I have access to the internet now so here is an update. On friday my husband, daughters and I went in for my ultrasound. It was a beautiful thing to see our little baby moving his arms, legs and entire body. We did get to find out the sex of our baby and it is.........A BOY! For those of you who knew, we really wanted a little prince and now we're getting one! We can't wait to meet him. We have to go back for another ultrasound later though cause the doc said she couldn' t get all the measurements that she needed. Fine by me! Then Justin said he still wants to go for the 4d ultrasound which is okay. We'll be able to get a good look at our son and see for sure who he's going to look like. I think he's going to look a lot like his daddy just by this u/s. Oh, and his name is going to be Dominic Andrew Gordon. I didn' t like Dominic at first especially since I hate the nickname Dom, but its growing on me a lot. I love my little man and my husband and my daughters. Once Dominic gets here our family will be complete...at least for the time being. Until daddy decides he wants another one! lol! Well, gonna go now cause my eyes are getting sore looking at this screen and my butt hurts too! Not to mention my little man is moving a whole lot inside me! This has got to be the greatest time ever, aside from seeing him after he is born! Well, bye ladies and take care of yourselves!

UPDATE!!! December 29, 2007

Hey everybody! I am so sorry that I haven't been online in awhile. My hubby came home Christmas Eve! It is so nice to be able to wake up to his face every morning. His favorite thing now is using the doppler to listen to our baby's heartbeat and the sad thing is, I always have trouble finding the heartbeat, but my hubby can find it within seconds! How biased is my baby!!! LOL, anyways, just wanted to say that my family is doing great and my girls are so excited to have daddy back. Now we're just getting ready for our big move to Alabama. Oh, I did end up in the hospital on Christmas Eve because I nearly passed out while I was in the shower. Baby is fine and so am I but my doctor said that I need to eat and really keep hydrated. Also, I need to move slower when switching positions because my blood vessels don't contract as quickly now that I'm pregnant so the blood rushes down to my feet and doesn't come back to my heart as quickly. It was a little scary, but everything's okay now. I got to hear my baby's heartbeat that day and his little heart is racing at 170 bpm! And for those who knew, I didn't get to have my ultrasound yesterday because the doctor said I was too early and he thought I was further along when he originally said yes! I was a bit disappointed but I'll be getting one soon after the move to Alabama so I will definitely keep everyone posted! I hope everyone had a verry Happy Holidays! Love you all and tons of wishes and baby dust to all!

December 11, 2007

I had the weirdest dream last night ladies! I dreamt that I went to the hospital because it was time to have my baby. My parents were with me and I next thing I know, I wake up in the hospital room. My parents told me I had to have an emergency c-section and when I looked at the incision, it was up on my abdoment rather than down by my pelvis and it looked like someone tried to play frankenstein with the way the cut looked! I really didn't care about that, I just wanted to know where my baby was and if he/she was okay. My parents said the baby was fine so I asked what I had and they told me I did have the little boy I've been wanting and I was ecstatic! Then they said..."but you also had a girl"! Whoa, what! I couldn't believe it so I said, you mean there were two in there? Right then, my babies were rolled into my room, my baby girl first and then my baby boy. I was thrilled, they were beautiful little babies, small, but beautiful! I held my son and he just stared at me, and my daughter was gorgeous, a pretty little face. And they both had the most amazing eyes, they really jumped out at you. Not because of their color, but because of their shape and they had nice big eyes. I wonder if my body is trying to tell me something, or if I'm just trying to deal with issues I didn't know I had? I don't know. If it turns out to be twins, I will be very excited but I do really want my boy! I learned though that even if I have another girl, I will be just as happy as long as she's okay. We'll see what happens! Lots of baby dust and good wishes to all you preggo ladies out there!

Hello,

My name is Lia and I am the proud wife of Justin. We just got married October 13, 2007 so we are very much newlyweds! My husband just joined the Coast Guard and is away at Basic, but he should be back before Christmas, YEAH!!! We have been TTC for 11 months and finally got pregnant last month, of course it was the month of our wedding right! We were thrilled! Justin said he can't wait to come home and see the little baby bump though I doubt "little" will be the word to describe it! I think I'm bigger than I should be at 7 almost 8 weeks and I haven't gained a single pound! I've actually lost a few! Hoping for a boy since we have two beautiful daughters, Destiny 4 and Alyssa 2. Well, that's all for now and I will be adding pictures soon of my tummy and my family! Bye for now!

November 19, 2007

I had my first ultrasound today at 8w 4days. Only thing is that the ultrasound technician took 5 minutes to find my baby! My sister-in-law and I were both getting really nervous thinking something had happened to the baby! Well, she finally found my little one who happens to be measuring 8w 1day, odd since I am huge already, probably because this is my third child. The baby's heartbeat looked nice and strong but he/she didn't move! I'm going to assume that he/she was sleeping! Well, that's my excitement for today.

November 20, 2007

here's a pic of my belly at 8 weeks, keep in mind i'll be 9 weeks on thursday so I'll be even bigger. I have only one baby in there according to my ultrasound, I'm just big. Oh, and I haven't gained a single pound yet! I've actually lost 2! What do you think? Am I carrying high??

November 22, 2007

I just have to share with everybody...MY HUSBAND CALLED TODAY FROM BASIC!!! I am so thrilled. I was hoping he would be able to do that, I haven't heard his voice in 4 weeks! I love him so much and miss him. I told him my belly bump wouldn't be so small by the time he got back and he laughed. He can't wait to kiss my belly and talk to our son or daughter! Well, my food's almost done so my daughters and I can eat. I made a 21lb turkey for the three of us plus a 8lb ham, 2 dishes of candied yams (yum!) and tons of stuffing which is what I was really craving! Talk about left overs! Well, have a great GOBBLE GOBBLE day mommies and thanks for sharing in my moments!

November 24, 2007

So, today I started feeling pressure in my lower pelvic are and its a bit uncomfortable. It just feels heavy. It makes me have to pee even more! Great, as if the waking up 3-4 times a night, not to mention the racing to the bathroom as soon as I get up so I don't pee my pants, wasn't enough, now, I get to pee even more! Pregnancy is full of so many exciting journeys! Okay, just a slight vent! Sorry, its just that its already hard to get up from a sitting position, especially since I tend to cramp or feel like I pulled something when I do, so having to pee even more (which isn't a problem I had in any of my other pregnancies), is just a pain, literally! Well, I'll talk to my doctor on tuesday but on a good note, the girls and I did do a little decorating for Christmas today and I love the lights so I just sit in the house with the all the house lights turned off, looking at the christmas lights and thinking about Christmas and my husband coming home. Its quite peaceful and I love it! Some eggnog or hot chocolate would be a perfect touch, as would my husband sitting with me and just cuddling and dreaming about our future. I miss him so much! Well, only 4 more weeks to go! I can make it, after all, I've made it this far right? Well, thanks for all who took the time to read this and listen to my little vent! Love all you guys!

December 3, 2007

So, I haven't heard my baby's heartbeat yet on the fetal doppler I'm renting. I'm 10w 4d. I know my baby's on the right side but sitting a little far back so that could be it. I hope everything's okay though, it makes me kind of nervous! I've been feeling good, except for when I eat certain foods, I will get a little nauseous. The bad thing is I never know what is going to turn my stomach! Oh well. My husband called on Saturday and could only talk for two minutes but we're moving from Hawaii to Alabama! I was really upset at first, but now I'm a little excited. I'm just not looking forward to traveling that long while being 4 months pregnant and having to deal with a 4 year old and a 2 year old. At least my husband will be there to help. I cannot wait to see him!!! Well, its going to be a busy month! Hope all you preggie moms are doing well out there.

December 7, 2007

Okay, I'm starting to get really excited! After today, there are only two more weeks until my husband graduates from basic training, and then he'll be home! I cannot wait. Granted the moment he comes back we'll have so much stuff to do because we'll be moving to Alabama, but at least I'll get to see him and hug him and kiss him. I'll feel so much better. As far as my pregnancy goes, I've been having so many cramps, especially on the right side where baby is resting. Its so frustrating because there's nothing I can do to make them stop. I know its just my abdominal area stretching and growing, but I never had this problem with my other two. You figure it would be a problem with my first not my third! On a good note though, I e-mailed my dr and he said he would try to schedule my ultrasound for before I leave in january. I'll be 14 weeks pregnant so that will be really nice. I just want to make sure that baby and I are healthy to travel all that way, especially since I developed hypertension with my last daughter. Also, they should be able to tell if baby is a boy or a girl, that is, if my little one cooperates which he doesn't seem to be very good at! Every time I try to hear his heartbeat, either I can't hear it or I can, and then as soon as I hear it for a few seconds he decides its a good time to move! Oh boy, he's already starting to be a handful! Well, I'll be keeping everyone posted and as far as my insomnia goes, still hasn't improved. I'm becoming more and more exhausted as the days go by! I can't even fall asleep during the day to catch up on sleep when my kids are at daycare! Its frustrating but I hope it goes away soon.

December 8, 2007

My husband called today. It was so good to hear his voice but his cold hasn't gotten any better, in fact he sounds worse. He's had his cold since about a week before thanksgiving. Well, he's only got two more weeks and then he'll be home. Unfortunately, I have to buy a plane ticket for him to get home for Christmas and I don't have money till we get paid on the 15th! I hope there are tickets left! Well, cramping sucked today. I had it really bad and i've been a bit uncomfortable. At least I can say that means my belly's growing and baby is growing too. I can't wait for my next doctor's appointment on the 28th. I'll get to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time at the doctors and my husband will be here for that so I'm so excited! Oh, just wanted to share, my friend Tehani is pregnant also and she called me today. She is about 16 or 17 weeks along and she had her ultrasound today. She is having another boy! I told her she better not have stolen my son cause otherwise we'd have to trade! lol, she's such a good friend! I'm gonna miss her when I move! Well, more later cause I gotta give my babies a bath and get them ready for bed time. Tons of prayers, wishes and baby dust to all you preggo, ttc, and new moms! Love you guys!

My husband has been in going on 5 years in October but we've only been together about 3 1/2 of those. I love military life! Don't get me wrong...there are things that REALLY suck about it but it is a great career. It take special people to be able to handle the life. The pregnancy is going WONDERFUL! I was kind of scared at first because we had miscarried in December and were pregnant again in January. But now I couldn't ask for anything better! What is your husband going to A school to become? Do you guys know when A school is?

Steffy-cant-wait-for-June!!! - Monday, 2 June
everything is much better now... baby is still in there!! I had an appointment on friday and she said that he is a "pretty good sized baby"... She said that i have a small pelvis and wouldn't be able to deliver a large baby so she may want to induce me in like 2 weeks to avoid me having to have a c-section. Kinda crazy!! We will find out for sure in like a week and a half because I will have an u/s then and we will have a better idea of how big he will be...

CCQ - Sunday, 1 June

So hit 15 pretty moms on your friends list to let them know they are
pretty!
Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her
down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop
the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important
and happy.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to
make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the
wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.
Send this to someone who you think is a special Mom.''
